Hello darlings! It’s Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad time traveller, and welcome back to www.pink-tutu.com!
This month, we’re venturing back to July 7th, 1917 – just imagine! It’s a beautiful summer day and even the pigeons in London seem to be dancing to a different tune. I can feel the sunshine on my cheeks, and the gentle breeze tickles the layers of my blush-pink tulle, billowing softly around my legs as Magic Meg takes us on a trot through the heart of the city.
You’ll never guess what, darlings! Our adventures this month have a delightful twist!
First, we're galloping to Moscow! My rucksack is overflowing with ballet essentials, as always – my ballet slippers, of course, some pink silk ribbons to embellish my costume (you can never have too many!), and my ever-reliable vintage feather boa for those extra dramatic moments. I’ve heard rumours of the incredible Bolshoi Ballet – what a treat to see them performing! It's an iconic ballet company, so imagine my delight at getting a glimpse of their rehearsal at the Bolshoi Theatre, all nestled in the very heart of Moscow. It’s like being swept away to another world, with the grandest chandeliers, the most beautiful costumes, and of course, the dancers’ talent! Simply magical!
But darling, something truly special happened on our travels… You know how I’m always on the lookout for extraordinary moments and objects. Imagine my surprise when I found myself in the stables, after the rehearsal. A little girl was holding a tiny pink feather – I was charmed! But darling, this was no ordinary feather, oh no! It sparkled like tiny diamonds! It seemed like Magic Meg just had to have it! It was the perfect finishing touch for her tail. My dear Meg loves pink just as much as I do!
I can already imagine this magical pink feather creating the most whimsical, shimmering trail as we go on future time travel adventures. It's a memory I’ll cherish forever – the perfect embodiment of our journey through time, filled with sparkling moments. It’s like Magic Meg’s own little story to tell, a delicate reminder of the day we spent among the legendary Bolshoi.
And of course, I mustn’t forget to share with you my lovely readers what was happening in the world of ballet on July 7th, 1917. Well, let me tell you, there were exciting happenings all over the world. In America, The Metropolitan Opera in New York was dazzling audiences with their renowned ballets. In Paris, Diaghilev's Ballets Russes were sweeping the city off its feet with their iconic costumes and revolutionary choreography. And let’s not forget London! The Alhambra Theatre was enchanting crowds with a magnificent production of "Giselle", a story that captures my heart every time. Such beautiful performances! Such timeless classics! I wonder if they’re still going on now?
Well, my darlings, this is just the start of our adventures this month! More dazzling discoveries are waiting for us – stay tuned, there’s a whole world to explore! Remember, you can join in my passion for ballet by spreading the joy and glamour of the pink tutu. We can make the world a prettier, twirlier place, one sparkly tutu at a time!
Until next time, darling readers!
All my love,
Emma x
