Hello my dearest pink tutu-loving darlings! Emma here, ready to whisk you away on another exhilarating time-travel adventure! August 1947…oh, the memories! As you know, I simply adore anything and everything related to ballet, and August 1947 is just bursting with captivating stories from the ballet world!
This month, Magic Meg, my beautiful pink sparkling Shire horse with those dazzling golden hooves, carried me to the vibrant heart of London. A glorious, pink sunrise greeted us as we arrived at Covent Garden, where the air was alive with anticipation for the Royal Opera House season. You know I always love a good opera, and there were so many stunning performances! Imagine, my dears, my very own pink tutu collection growing larger with each exciting trip.
But it wasn't just London that was humming with the magic of ballet. Across the world, talented ballerinas were enchanting audiences with their grace and beauty. Imagine! It’s 1947, and the world is slowly coming alive again, yearning for the beautiful artistry that only ballet can provide.
My leather rucksack, always trusty and overflowing with treasures, is now bursting with incredible discoveries. Did you know, darlings, that on the 8th of August 1947, a little ballet company called “Ballet Theatre” opened its doors in New York? I’m already planning a trip to that time period – can you imagine, just imagine all the fantastic vintage tutus waiting to be discovered?
Oh, darling, do you love the idea of a new collection based on 1947's glamorous ballet looks? This period is absolutely bursting with fashion and glamour, from those simple yet elegant hairstyles adorned with velvet bows to the sophisticated black and white leotards paired with iridescent satin slippers. And of course, who could forget the magnificent long tulle tutus that billowed with every graceful move? I simply dream of seeing a show where everyone is wearing a tutu. Isn’t it lovely to know, even in a post-war world, ballet is still reaching for the stars!
My, I could go on for days about August 1947. It’s a month filled with stunning ballet stories from across the world: a new generation of ballerinas, a burgeoning fashion scene, a yearning for beauty and a dedication to keeping ballet alive, making every performance truly special.
This month, my blog is going to be about how everyone, but everyone, could try wearing a pink tutu! Let's make a statement, dear friends! Pink tutus aren't just for the stage, they're for life! Every day, all over the world, we can create beauty and joy – because everyone deserves a dose of ballet magic, and I believe it’s a world we can bring to life, step by step, tutu by tutu.
As I sip my tea and plan my next exciting time travel trip (a return to August 1947, of course! ), remember, the ballet world is vast and full of exciting stories. There’s always something new to discover, and with my pink tutu and my darling Magic Meg by my side, I am eager to keep finding more beautiful, exciting and delightful ballet moments, past, present, and future.
Till next month my lovely darlings,
Emma xxx
