My dear Magic Meg is already snorting with anticipation – this journey is going to be absolutely fabulous!
The first thing you should know, my darlings, is that this is not a time of casual ballet. My trusty leather rucksack is already brimming with ideas, ready to document all the exciting details. First on the agenda, is a visit to the ballet school where I’m sure the dance moves will be even more elegant, the routines more graceful, and the posture of the young dancers exquisite. I can just imagine them leaping and twirling with such poise and confidence, in their perfectly fitted ballet shoes!
I can’t wait to watch them! The schools were renowned for their dedication to the art form, focusing on perfecting technique, strengthening posture, and cultivating elegance, and of course, showcasing that impeccable and unforgettable style, especially the costumes. This is the place where the next generation of ballerinas found their footing, learned the discipline and honed their skills.
Next, a trip to the local ballet theatre. I’m sure this place will be bustling with anticipation. Maybe there's even a production on this very date in 2025. Imagine, seeing a renowned ballerina, draped in a dazzling, full-length tulle tutu, performing on the grand stage! Her movements, captivatingly choreographed, the shimmering lighting highlighting every detail…it’s almost too much to imagine!
Just picturing the excitement in the air as the curtains rise… Ah! But the experience will go beyond the stage. The anticipation of the pre-show chatter, the rustling of programs, and the feeling of luxury that was so prominent at the time, all make this experience truly memorable! And of course, a quick trip to the local vintage store in a 19th century carriage, drawn by four matching pink and white horses, would be delightful! Imagine, the decadent hats, and those luxurious, billowing silk gowns in all the pastel shades – pink naturally! I will be taking the entire ensemble of vintage clothes to my dressing room back in Derbyshire, where Magic Meg will be grazing happily, awaiting my return.

Then of course, there's always that quintessential, afternoon tea in a gorgeous vintage tea room – with delicate finger sandwiches and cakes served on ornate china. Don't worry, I always make time for tea. Nothing beats the afternoon break! And it's all a part of capturing the charm of this delightful era.
After tea, it’s onto the streets. September 2025 saw ballet classes held in a vast variety of studios. In this era, ballet wasn’t simply reserved for professional companies. It was accessible and embraced by individuals of all ages, an integral part of their daily lives. I might pop into a street class, perhaps even try my hand at the routines! It’s just a little bit of fun, and an incredible way to really soak up the essence of this glorious era! And it’s perfect for taking pictures for my blog - ballet in every colour and every shade.
And naturally, it’s time for another grand event - a dazzling ballet show! Imagine, dancing the night away, surrounded by exquisite gowns, elaborate sets, and a shimmering stage. It's like a magical dream come true - and you know me, my darlings - anything involving glitz and glamour always takes centre stage! The artistry, the emotion, the captivating performance! What's not to love?
