Pink Tutu Travels: The Glittering Grace of 10th October, 2027 (Post #4402)

Hello, darlings! Emma here, your ever-so-pink ballet-loving time traveller, reporting live from… well, I haven’t decided yet! The joys of time travel, you see, is the wonderful surprise of each journey!

This month, as you all know, we’re celebrating the magic of October, a month where crisp autumn air dances with the spirit of the upcoming festive season. What better way to celebrate than with a time travel adventure to… well, that’s top secret for now, but let me tell you, my darlings, it's a truly spectacular one.

Before I dive into our thrilling escapades, let’s take a peek at the world of ballet on this very date – 10th October, 2027! It’s a momentous date in ballet history! I know, right? My research reveals there are major celebrations planned at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, where they'll be honouring the anniversary of one of my favourite ballet productions. You’ll never guess, my lovelies, it's… Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake! Fancy that, they’ve gone and put on a brand new production with costumes straight out of the Black Swan era! It's bound to be glorious, and with the iconic White Swan costume - such an exquisite testament to ballet fashion – I bet they’ll have plenty of pink highlights, even in that legendary white tutu!

And, let's not forget about our lovely friends in the States, who are celebrating the opening night of a brand new production of The Sleeping Beauty! I know what you’re thinking, Emma, we've already seen Sleeping Beauty! And you are right my darling, we have! But this new production at the American Ballet Theatre in New York is making waves in the ballet world! It's supposedly got some ground-breaking choreography! It's got my attention - I just adore seeing how our beautiful ballet world continues to evolve!

Meanwhile, on this lovely October evening, you can find me preparing to set off with Magic Meg, my pink and sparkling shire horse, her mane and tail like cascading waterfalls of shimmering white silk. Her hooves are the golden colour of a setting sun, each clop carrying us back through time.

It’s always such an exciting rush, loading up my trusty leather rucksack with enough pink-tinted lip gloss for every ballerina from the Romantic era onwards (because honestly, darlings, a pink lip always completes a look), a handful of delicious ballet-themed biscuits and, of course, my special magnifying glass to get a closer look at those historical ballet shoes. Oh, and there's also an intricately-woven shawl – just in case my trip leads me to a chilly time!

And for those who are wondering, yes, of course I always bring my pink tutu with me! Even when traveling through time, a ballet dancer can never truly be out of their element!

Speaking of being out of your element… let me tell you about the destination of this month’s time travel expedition, but promise not to tell! (Or you might find yourself being whisked away by Magic Meg!)

This month’s journey takes us to … The court of the King Louis XIV! That’s right my darlings, 1661! The year Ballet de la Royale was born. Fancy that? Who’d have thought we'd be dancing through the opulent court of the ‘Sun King’ himself?! I do so love how ballet started in France, with the extravagance of court performances and an evolution into elegant art form! I can already picture the bright lights of Versailles palace in my mind… the elegant steps, the luxurious fabrics and the whispers of anticipation just before the music begins. Just imagining the royal figures all dressed up in elaborate costumes … and just wait until you see how much I am looking forward to dressing up as the fashionable ballerina for the court - I have a very particular ensemble planned for this occasion! I may even let slip a few secret hints on my social media - do check in for a few extra hints at my journey. I think this era may even require my pink sequined garter to tie around my pink ballerina slippers. It might just add a touch of magic, and after all, who knows how that magic could influence a king! Perhaps even get everyone dancing - in their own pink tutus!

I am simply brimming with anticipation about our time travel adventure. From the magnificent dance of Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty in our present, we're going to plunge into the origins of ballet with a spectacular trip to 1661! It’s going to be absolutely glorious, my dears. I’m already counting the minutes until we embark on our journey! And while I'm waiting, don't forget to leave a comment below. I’m always so curious to hear your thoughts, your guesses and even what colour you would like to see me wear on my trip!

But until we’re reunited next month, with more adventures and even more time-travelling fun, remember, darling, you’re all stunning, and everyone looks amazing in a pink tutu!

Love,

Emma xx

P.S. Oh, and just in case anyone's worried - My travels are completely legal, I'm a Time Traveler with a permit issued from the International Academy of Time Travelers . You can visit them on the internet - just do a quick Google search, and you’ll be sure to find the details. And they love a pink tutu. I bet even the Time Lords at the International Academy would look great in one!
