As December paints the world in frosted magic, it seems only right to celebrate this joyous time with a dance-filled trip to the past! With a swirling twirl and a flourish of my sparkly pink tutu, Magic Meg – my majestic, pink-sparkling Shire horse – and I are soaring back in time to 12th December 2028. Buckle up, lovelies, because we’re in for a treat!

The World of Ballet in December 2028

Oh, how delightful it is to see the ballet world flourishing in the December of 2028! Everywhere you look, there’s an incredible performance happening:

  • In London's Royal Opera House, the ever-inspiring Royal Ballet is showing off its grace with a breathtaking rendition of “Giselle.” My heart always flutters when I see that classic ballet. The sorrow, the hope, and the pure dance… sigh! It’s simply beautiful.
  • At New York's Lincoln Center, the New York City Ballet is hosting a captivating run of “The Nutcracker.” The charming tale and enchanting choreography always bring back a sense of childhood magic.
  • And oh, fancy that! The Paris Opera Ballet is staging a premiere of “A Midsummer Night's Dream,” set to Prokofiev’s beautiful score! I simply must get my tutu on and catch that one! The sheer artistry of the French ballet never fails to amaze.

And if you are looking for something a little more unique, don't forget to check out the up-and-coming choreographers who are showcasing their contemporary interpretations of classical stories.

Everywhere you look, the world of ballet is bursting with passion, skill, and imagination!

A Pink Tutu’s Delight in December

This December of 2028, it seems as though all the dance-lovers of the world are getting their pink-tutu fix! There’s a beautiful flurry of balletic activity going on, and I, as a true devotee of all things pink and sparkly, couldn't be happier.

Today, I have my eye on a special little something - a vintage pink tulle skirt that is oh-so-tutus-tic, nestled snugly in a boutique shop just off London’s Piccadilly Circus. Imagine, lovelies! The skirt's softness against my skin and the delicate dance of tulle when I move… it’s a ballerina’s dream! Perhaps it will make a lovely addition to my collection back in Derbyshire… or maybe it’ll inspire me to put on a little performance on my own? Who knows?

But first, my darling Magic Meg and I must make a pitstop in New York! It is December, after all, and who can resist the joyous Christmas ballet shows at Radio City Music Hall! This year, the "Christmas Spectacular" is extra special: It features not only the famous Rockettes in their dazzling high kicks, but also an impressive array of local dancers from the Bronx performing in traditional New York-inspired choreography. It’s heartwarming and full of vibrant spirit. It’s simply enchanting, and it reminds me how wonderfully diverse the ballet world truly is!

The Ballerina’s Backstory – A Look at My Rucksack

Every time traveller has a secret weapon, and mine just happens to be this lovely, leathery backpack filled with dance treasures and tales! Every month, I pick up items and stories from different points in ballet history and bring them home to share with you, dear readers.

This time around, my bag’s bursting with stories and mementos from 12th December 2028. In particular, I have a darling piece of lace, meticulously kept and cherished, from the ballerina who designed the costume for the lead dancer in the Royal Ballet’s "Giselle" production. The lace, as soft as a dream and a shade of pale pink that shimmers like twilight, is pure magic, imbued with the very essence of artistic expression and talent. I can't wait to use it in a future design of my own!

And, I’m positively delighted to share with you an enchanting photograph of a young ballet prodigy in Paris – the child is a mere eight years old, and is about to begin her debut performance in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Paris Opera House. Her talent, energy, and spark in that photograph... it's truly inspirational, a beautiful reminder of the passion that fills the ballet world.

These little snippets of the past make me even more aware of the powerful stories woven into ballet. From the grace of the legendary dancers who paved the way for us to the extraordinary artists who bring their passion to each and every performance, it’s all about artistry and creativity – it’s about a passion for life, expressed through dance.

Back to My Present – In My Own Tutu

My lovely dancers, December of 2028 is truly magical. From the glittery joy of festive ballet performances to the fascinating snippets of history hidden within my back-pack, it's been a fantastic adventure. And as we close out the year, it's important to remember to stay inspired, creative, and most of all, to never forget to embrace the magic of ballet. After all, as you all know, it's my mission to get everyone wearing a pink tutu, so spread the joy, be your own dancing star, and make it your own!

Remember, lovelies, you can follow my adventures on www.pink-tutu.com – every month, a new story awaits!

Till next time, may your steps be light, your tutus sparkly, and your love for ballet eternal!

Love and sparkles, Emma xx
