Pink Tutu Time Travel: A Ballet Journey Through 2029 July! 🩰

**Welcome to my little corner of the internet, darlings! Emma here, and I’m back with another post for my blog! I've been time travelling with my magical pal Magic Meg again! This time it was to July 2029, a real exciting month in ballet, especially for you fashionistas. You wouldn't believe the amazing things I've seen. But, as usual, my lovely, pink tutued friends, let's start as always with a big hug and a big cuppa. Grab your best china and your cosiest blanket – you're in for a treat! 💖

This is my 4423rd post for www.pink-tutu.com! As you all know, my mission is to inspire the world to wear pink tutus and learn all about the history of our fabulous, twirly, dance form! I’ve always believed that tutus make you feel like you can do anything, especially with the help of a magical pink Shire horse like Magic Meg. Magic Meg even wears pink saddle cloths. 🦄 Our journeys, always funded by the money from my performances, take us back in time, through every period, and we've already travelled across decades of amazing fashion, amazing performances and incredible history. This is always just one little bit of the exciting world that’s ballet, and just one chapter from my huge love for this stunning and powerful dance form. 💖

Dancing in July 2029

I must admit, when I stepped back into July of 2029, the world was still pretty hot - in a lot more ways than just the weather! ☀️ Everyone was absolutely buzzing, especially in the world of ballet, with an explosion of dance-fuelled excitement. This particular month saw so many major premieres and a fantastic line-up at theatres and ballet studios across the world! It felt like everywhere I turned there were fabulous shows with new productions, world tours, and even a big debate about ballet’s future! (Not really surprising - ballet's forever evolving!). I spent a wonderful week going to loads of shows, checking out dance events and workshops. The atmosphere everywhere was just full of that magical 'we’re about to create something wonderful' buzz.

What’s Happening in 2029’s Dance Scene?
  • The Big Buzz – Dance Fusion! In 2029, one of the biggest things I noticed was this new wave of blending genres - you could find ballet and hip-hop, classical and contemporary, even some ballet-meets-technology, and even ballet-meets-Shakespeare! (We've seen some incredible Shakespearian ballet interpretations in the past, but 2029 saw an incredible fusion). I'm really fascinated by these fresh combinations and the way artists are constantly pushing boundaries and experimenting! Imagine my excitement, dancing right there with the world of contemporary hip hop! Just fabulous. And those costumes - just fabulous!
  • Starry, Starry Night! ⭐️ In London's West End, you could catch the Royal Ballet's absolutely phenomenal production of “Giselle." Of course, this classic had to have that 2029 spin, but with the world’s top ballerinas! I must say, I loved the way the sets incorporated futuristic technology, it just enhanced the dramatic energy!
  • The Ballet Olympics: 🤸 Then we went off to Japan, where the World Ballet Games were in full swing! This was like the Olympics of ballet – dancers from around the globe, all performing at their absolute best, competed for some truly incredible awards. So exciting! The London Contemporary Ballet did an amazing job – winning the trophy for “Best Choreography" with a spectacularly choreographed fusion performance that combined hip-hop, contemporary and classic moves - stunning! It truly showed off the diversity of contemporary ballet!
  • Beyond The Stage – Fashion’s Leading Ladies: And in Paris, I got a sneak peek into some of the latest ballet fashions. From incredible contemporary outfits for contemporary shows and workshops (always exciting, with more stretch and ease of movement), to these stunning Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo ensembles – think flowing lines, stunningly beautiful costumes for all genres - a wonderful combination of couture and functionality, designed with both stage performances and dance classes in mind.
Time-Travel Ballet Through the Eyes of a Pink Tutu

This trip back in time has been truly eye-opening. In 2029, there’s such a diversity of movement! Every ballet company, and even the individual artists within each company, are really forging their own pathways and breaking down all the ‘old fashioned’ ballet rules! (Not to be disrespectful to ballet’s history – we love and learn from everything) The dancers just weren't scared of experimenting! From the amazing leaps to those fluid contemporary pieces – there’s a real explosion of creative dance forms everywhere. I love that contemporary and modern ballets really show off those body forms. But the dancers are even braver with contemporary costumes. Less constricted than we've been used to, much more body conscious – that’s something that will definitely resonate for the future!

And of course, with every visit through history it’s time to put Magic Meg's feet back into history-maker mode - it's my passion! I had a little chuckle seeing these modern 2029 performances but remembering the styles of the past. Ballet has always been about evolution. Every new style was new once, right?! You'd never see the Paris Opera Ballet's classic outfits combined with hip hop! But, now, everything seems to be blended in some way - and what a treat for the eyes that's been, even for me, after so much time travelling! It's an adventure in its own right, but not just because of my travels, but the incredible creative dance expressions we get to witness!

To be honest, I must admit that I was slightly disappointed with 2029's overall appreciation for tutus! 🙈 I mean, they just didn’t quite have that pink, sparkly energy that I love. Though, there was this little independent boutique ballet shop I came across, where the owners made some stunning pink tutus! It turns out there's been a little ballet revolution of sorts, and tutus were considered something very special for a select few shows. I saw some wonderful new tutu styles for contemporary shows and I loved them. The colors, fabrics, and the intricate detailing really showcased those dynamic moves. They still looked just a bit…well, ‘grown up’, compared to what we would consider classic pink tutus, with the added spark. I tried on every single pink tutu in the store, but it's my own fault really - what you call ‘a little sparkle' – we could say it’s all about ‘personal preferences’. 😜

*But remember my dearies – we all have the power to bring those twirly pink dreams to life! * 💓 And every day is a chance to shine! So, don't just admire the gorgeous pink tutus – get one and wear it proudly. The only thing more stunning than seeing those pink tutu skirts swirling across a stage is seeing a sea of those pink tutu skirts swirling all over the world! 💕 I’ll be back here next month – I can’t wait to show you what else I discover as we time-travel together! Until next time, keep twirling those tutus and spreading the love for dance!

Love always, Emma. x

P.S. Let me know in the comments if you’ve seen anything spectacular at your favourite ballet show, and where you would love to see the tutus of the world! What tutu style makes your heart happy? 💖
