Hello my darling darlings! Emma here, your resident Pink Tutu Time Traveller! Buckle your dancing shoes, because this month's adventure takes us to the dazzling December of 2031. Did you know it's a year that feels practically bursting with ballet history?
Oh, the excitement! As I write, I'm sipping pink sparkling lemonade, sitting amongst a flurry of pink tulle and shimmering sequined fabrics in my little Derbyshire cottage, a magical portal created by my trusty steed, Magic Meg, the pink-hued Shire with the most magnificent golden hooves you've ever seen. This enchanting mare carries me back through time, enabling me to share my adventures in ballet's past with you!
This month, December 2031, is chock-a-block with glorious events! Brace yourselves for an unforgettable journey through the heart of ballet:
Firstly, London Calling!
I simply can't wait to be part of the incredible “Ballet Beyond Borders” event held at the iconic Royal Opera House! The whole world will be tuning in, a real global ballet extravaganza! Can you imagine, darling? Performances from diverse traditions, like traditional Indian Bharatanatyam, Japanese Butoh, and even a thrilling fusion of Ballet with African contemporary dance, alongside traditional classics like Giselle! It's going to be absolutely sparkling, wouldn't you agree? I'm positively quivering with excitement!
Speaking of fusion, the "Ballet in Bloom" Exhibition is truly something to see!
Set against the backdrop of the majestic Kew Gardens, this mesmerising showcase is about to bring the most magical botanical art and contemporary ballet performances together. Think delicate floral sculptures interwoven with ethereal choreography, breathtaking beauty on every level. It's an exquisite spectacle that will stay in my memories forever. Imagine, floating amidst a sea of vibrant lilies, watching ballets bloom before your very eyes! Oh, to be there!
Back to the grand halls of Covent Garden…
Now, my dearest darlings, have you ever been to a Royal Ballet premiere? Oh, the magic! I've booked myself a pair of front row tickets for “The Silver Swan.” This piece by Tchaikovsky has been revived with a stunning new production by the Royal Ballet's artistic director, making it truly exquisite. Imagine delicate and elegant movements that echo the graceful flow of the swan, combined with the majestic opulence of a Royal Ballet performance. I simply cannot wait!
My personal fashion find of the month?
You've all heard of ballet pumps, but how about “Ballet Bags?" That's right, darling, the new must-have accessory for any ballerina who loves her ballet style and comfort! Think exquisitely crafted little pink leather backpacks adorned with delicate tulle ruffles, just enough to add a dash of ballerina charm to any outfit. Now wouldn't that be delightful to pop on and take on all my time travel adventures? Of course, you'll be seeing me with a magnificent version on my back throughout December 2031. A leather rucksack is perfect for bringing back memories, a couple of delicate ballerina shoes and some little keepsakes from the time. Oh, and the latest ballet scores too of course.
Now, darling, about these shoes…
Remember when I mentioned the Royal Ballet premiere, right? It gives me the perfect excuse to explore a fabulous new ballet shoe store opening in London! "En Pointe Boutique," is brimming with shimmering ballet flats, pointed shoes and elegant pumps - every colour and style you can imagine! It even sells beautiful "Ballet Bags." How wonderful would that be! Imagine having a matching bag and ballet flats! Such chic elegance, wouldn't you say?
Beyond the Stage:
Don't think for a moment that this is all. My love for ballet knows no boundaries, not even time itself! This month I'm particularly thrilled to attend a community ballet performance at "The Derbyshire Dance Centre," It's always so much fun to see ballet blossom at a grassroots level. Oh, how it warms my heart! There is nothing like watching young children blossom in their beautiful costumes.
This community spirit extends to my own little Derbyshire cottage! Each year I gather all my favourite pink tutus for my annual "Pink Tutu Gala", celebrating all things pink and twirly. I've even managed to get the local primary school to incorporate some beautiful tutus in their winter play. Every performance adds to my pink tutu collection! I am forever aiming to make all the world wear pink tutus!
Oh, but darling, I could talk about ballet forever. Every single time I travel, every new story, every magical moment, strengthens my conviction – we simply must embrace ballet's charm! Let it flow through our hearts and spirits, and don't forget to add that pink tutu magic to your wardrobe!
And now, my lovelies, I must rush off! My Pink Tutu is all ready for a grand entrance in London, Magic Meg is gleaming and ready to transport me to the breathtaking grandeur of the Royal Ballet premiere! I will be sure to write you all a full and dazzling report on every magical minute, right here, on your very favourite pink-tutu.com.
Until then, happy dancing, my dears, and always keep twirling!
Love and Tutu Dust,
Emma xx
