Hello lovelies! Emma here, back from another whirlwind adventure through time with my trusty steed, Magic Meg, the pink-sparkling shire with the golden hooves and snow-white mane and tail.
December, eh? The air is crisp, the festive cheer is brewing, and for this ballerina, that means one thing - ballet! ๐ฉฐ
This month, my time machine (aka Magic Meg) and I galloped right into 12th December 2032. We landed with a flourish right outside the majestic Palais Garnier Opera House in Paris - the heart of the Parisian ballet scene. Imagine my delight!
It was Christmas Eve, the city twinkled with festive lights, and the air buzzed with anticipation for the holiday ballet performances. I mean, who doesn't love a good Christmas ballet? I bet you can guess my favourite part? You've guessed it - the tutus! I've got to say, they've really upped their tutu game since the 1800s, and I've got to snag a few snippets of these gorgeous designs for my collection back in Derbyshire!
So what was happening in the world of ballet on this particular 12th December?
Well, I managed to sneak into the Palais Garnier just in time to see the final act of "The Nutcracker". Oh, the joy! Imagine a huge Christmas tree coming to life with twinkling lights, whimsical dancers in enchanting costumes, and the most delicious music filling the air! It was just... magical. I even managed to capture a few snippets of the choreography and jotted down some inspiration for my own ballet creations - perhaps a pink tutu-tastic Nutcracker? Hmm... I'll have to see what Magic Meg says!
Afterwards, I ventured into the grand, bustling city. Everywhere I went, I spotted ballerinas and ballet lovers dressed in their festive finest, and it filled me with such joy! Pink was, of course, a popular shade for the evening, but the colour palette was diverse, mirroring the vibrant, swirling artistry of the performance. I just loved the creative fashion of this time!
My rucksack on my back filled up fast with interesting ballet-themed souvenirs. You canโt imagine my joy at finding a rare program from a past Nutcracker production โ a real collectors item. And you won't believe this, I even found a darling little porcelain figurine of a dancing doll in a pink tutu! So sweet!
As the night drew in and the clock struck midnight, it was time to make our getaway with Magic Meg. This time, she took us for a breathtaking midnight flight above the glittering Parisian skyline. It was breathtaking! I canโt imagine a better way to end such a lovely time travelling day!
Now, back in Derbyshire, the snow is falling, the fire crackles, and the aroma of hot chocolate fills the air. My favourite Christmas tradition, of course, is to snuggle up with a hot cocoa and start planning my next ballet adventures.
Until then, I leave you with this:
Donโt forget, my darlings, every day is an opportunity to celebrate your inner ballerina! Think pink, twirl often, and most importantly, keep your spirits bright.
And don't forget, join me next month for a new journey on www.pink-tutu.com! I have a feeling itโs going to be a very pink December. ๐
See you then!
Lots of love,
Emma xx
