Pink Tutu Time Travel: A Twirling Tour of 12th December, 2034! 🩰✨

Welcome back, darling readers, to Pink Tutu Time Travel! It's your favourite ballerina blogger, Emma, back with another adventure in time. It’s been a little while since my last post – I’ve been knee-deep in tutus, as usual – but today, I’m so excited to share with you my dazzling journey to the 12th of December, 2034! As always, I'm whisked off on this adventure with my magnificent steed, Magic Meg - a truly stunning pink Shire with shimmering gold hooves and a mane and tail like spun clouds. It's her shimmering mane that seems to pick up the colours of each time period we visit, isn't she a beauty?

Today, my lovelies, we’re diving into the exciting world of ballet in 2034! It’s a date filled with a smorgasbord of wonderful performances, new fashion, and a touch of contemporary ballet magic, so buckle up, darlings, and let’s dance!

From Derbyshire to 2034

After a morning of delicious breakfast pastries at my favourite tea room in Bakewell (yes, I'm from Derbyshire - we love our pastries!), I packed up my leather rucksack. This time, I knew I was going to need lots of space. This was, after all, a future trip, and I needed room for those trendy new ballet fashions I had heard whisperings about! I'm absolutely wild about ballet fashion.

And then, off we galloped on Meg’s back. Did I mention that Magic Meg is the only Shire horse who can travel through time? It's a gift that seems to match my own enthusiasm for ballet.

I love travelling by horse; it’s far more elegant than any old machine! We leave a trail of pink sparkle behind us, so people know we’ve been around, plus Meg is pretty fabulous at not attracting attention in the crowded streets. I have to say, the future doesn't have a lot of horse riders - even though Meg is an absolutely divine specimen! People are always staring, but in a good way of course, they love her bright pink sparkly coat, her white flowing tail, and she has the cutest snort you ever did hear!

The best thing is, travelling back in time is never too fast, just fast enough for Meg’s beautiful flowing mane to shimmer in the sunshine, the colours swirling as we speed back to 2034! I mean, it's really very exciting, don’t you think?

London’s Dancing Dreams

We landed in a dazzling modern metropolis! There was so much energy buzzing about, with sleek spaceships flitting above, and rainbow pedestrian walkways where people could go on moving platforms as well as walk. Oh, and the shopping, darling! Such fantastic boutiques. But enough about those for now.

First stop was the Royal Opera House, London - oh darling, there is no place more elegant. As usual, it was bustling with excitement! I can't wait to see what's on in this future ballet scene. And it seemed I wasn't alone - everyone in 2034 has just as much enthusiasm for the ballet as I do!

A Touch of Magic in the Ballet Scene

We found ourselves at the ROH on the 12th December 2034 - what a day to be alive! They had a performance of "Swan Lake". Of course, "Swan Lake" is a ballet classic, darling! Every ballet lover, knows the story. However, the ballet itself is very different today - and much more than I had expected. This ā€œSwan Lakeā€ felt, well, futuristic and bold! Imagine: ballet in three dimensions. The ballet was performed within a dome, and the use of 3D imagery was astonishing! It took me a few minutes to realise what I was seeing - but once my eyes had adjusted to it, it was magical, like you were actually in the fairytale of "Swan Lake" itself, oh how very charming. I simply adored how this incredible show kept the story fresh, relevant and so immersive. I would absolutely love to take it back in time to my very own 21st Century Derbyshire and share this unique production with everyone.

More Than a Dance: A Future Ballet Journey

Oh, darling, this really is my kind of era! I just had to catch some street dancing on the way home. There’s an enormous energy and individuality here! These ballet moves in a street scene, I was just thrilled! What a fusion! It's simply a marvel of graceful expression and artistry, the perfect blend of the ancient art of ballet with contemporary culture. And let me tell you, this new take on street ballet in 2034 is breathtaking! They're not simply doing ballet moves - but ballet in their clothes and on a whole new level! I have to say, some of these dancers even had holographic wings in beautiful colours that interacted with the neon colours in the streetscape. I think I need to find a place where Meg and I can set up camp and just watch all the talent on show for a little while! It would be truly splendid. I’ve decided to name this style of dance ā€˜Fusion Dance’. I think I will even have a go at a few steps when I get back home, though I do feel a touch older and stiffer today. I'll do what I can, darling. I will still put on my pink tutu to have a try!

Shopping for My Fashion Inspiration

Then it was onto a whole other journey. Shopping is so important. As usual, it has to be all about pink and tutus, darling! Shopping for ballet supplies and inspiration - I always take back some of the best fashions back in time to wear. This trip I discovered such a fabulous futuristic tutu shop in London, and they had amazing styles. You wouldn't believe how glamorous the dresses and tutus looked. Some had all the bright colours of a rave; others looked sleek, streamlined and had hints of the stars of the Milky Way. All my senses were buzzing, darling! I found an absolute gem, a glittering fuchsia tulle with gold sequin detail. Now this truly is the future of ballet! My backpack, thankfully, was able to hold enough ballet clothes and trinkets to keep me satisfied! I even found a couple of ā€˜Fusion Dance’ dance instructors at the Royal Opera House who explained how the dance ā€˜Fusion Dance’ moves can be practiced and incorporated in more ballet choreography. I had to learn a couple of steps! So I am now 'Fusion Dance' teacher as well as a ballet time traveler.

An Inspirational Journey

Every journey back through time is about more than just ballet! There’s a connection to the history and culture, to finding the magic in every corner. And it has made me determined, darling. My new goal in life? Everyone, and I do mean everyone, is going to wear a pink tutu - just you wait! That's the dream, darling!

Now, it’s time to start my next trip and blog post. This blog is now post number 4488! I mean, wouldn’t you say that is fabulous? Meg is a good girl. She loves tucking her pink head down to the beautiful flowers. Oh and, speaking of that, a quick hello to our gorgeous community of dancers who are always inspiring. Remember: every time you twirl in your favourite tutu, it’s a journey of joy and magic - much like this! Keep those pink tutus flowing and until next time, my dears! 🩰
