Pink Tutu Travels: Ballet History – 2041, 10th October, Post 4570

Hello darlings! Emma here, ready to whisk you away on another incredible time-travelling ballet adventure. October is always such a magical time for me - the leaves are turning crimson and gold, like the autumn hues of a classic tutu, and the crisp air invigorates my spirit. Today, we're going to take a twirl back in time to the 10th of October, 2041. Can you believe we’re already back in the 21st century?

It’s the year the legendary "A Thousand Tutu Dreams" was first performed by the Paris Opera Ballet, an exquisite story that captured the very essence of our dance form, beautifully expressing dreams and aspirations with exquisite pointe work and graceful elegance. It’s said the first night’s performance brought tears to the eyes of seasoned dance critics - I’m booking a trip to Paris to see this show at the earliest opportunity. I’ll definitely update the blog when I have news of a possible time travel.

It’s just incredible to think that this ballet has become a firm favourite on stage, capturing the hearts and imaginations of audiences around the globe! In the world of fashion, you're seeing pink tutus everywhere, with top designers embracing the trend - even on the catwalk at the New York fashion week! I’m so happy to see my mission to bring pink tutus into the mainstream, and to get people excited about ballet and the elegance of our most lovely form of dance. It warms my heart to see the impact of my humble efforts on the world! I am hoping to set up my own ballet school, dedicated to nurturing young dancers – and of course – with plenty of pink tutus available, and all the very best in dance fashions available.

We are travelling today on Magic Meg, my beautiful pink Shire horse with a shimmering white mane and tail. Meg, in her magnificent beauty, doesn’t simply pull a carriage; she transports me back in time! Magic Meg, of course, is adorned in a custom-made pink tutu, hand stitched in the most sumptuous silk by a friend at "Tutuland", one of the top online tutus stores – she's just so very special.

Meg knows that October brings autumn colours and this journey is all about beautiful autumn tones. My leather rucksack, bursting at the seams with precious ballet stories and objects is strapped onto Meg’s back. Ready for an adventure in pink tutus? Then buckle up – here we go…

I have travelled many a time back to 2041 and, to be quite frank, it’s a little depressing. I don’t like being surrounded by so much technology and I must say, not a pink tutu in sight! Even with a beautiful ballet story as spectacular as "A Thousand Tutu Dreams", there’s a general disinterest in dancing here – so that is the reason for this month’s blog post, a reminder to my 2041 self and all the wonderful dancers who need to find their tutus!

Of course, no time travel is complete without a spot of ballet exploration and I love shopping for all the very best in vintage ballet accessories, ballet shoes, vintage costume jewelry, books, and antique ballet costumes and dresses to add to my fabulous collection. Today’s find is a pair of exquisitely handcrafted leather ballet pumps, decorated in pearl embellishments, perfect for an afternoon promenade through a busy city park.

So what is on stage today, the 10th of October, 2041, a time filled with so much technological advance? Well, nothing. I couldn’t find one single ballet on stage! This has got to change and so, from now on, my readers, let’s start getting back into pink tutus and supporting our amazing world of ballet – what better place to start than here at Pink Tutu Travel! It’s all down to you my dear readers, spread the pink love - let's bring tutus to everyone! A pink tutu makes any woman or little girl look elegant and graceful. And it doesn't have to be the classic shape. There’s now so much choice for fashion-conscious ballerinas.

Right, well, I must be going. Magic Meg’s pawing impatiently on the ground, ready to travel to another time, another ballet. Do leave a comment on my website to let me know what your favourite era of ballet is! And keep your eyes peeled for another ballet history post next month. Until next time, stay fabulous and keep twirling!

Lots of love and pink tutu wishes,

Emma xx
