Pink Tutu Time Travel: 2054-05-01 - A Glittering Galore in the Grand Age of Ballet!

Welcome, darlings, to another edition of my beloved blog, Pink-Tutu.com! This month, I'm taking you all on a breathtaking time-traveling adventure to the very heart of ballet history - 2054-05-01! Oh, what a wonderful date it is! A truly enchanting experience for a budding ballet aficionado like myself. Buckle up, my sweet dears, for this ride is full of frills, sparkle, and a generous dollop of pure pink magic!

(As usual, a big shout out to all the fabulously talented dancers, choreographers, and producers who grace my time travel journey with their talent! It is you, my sweet darlings, that inspire me to hop on the back of my darling Magic Meg, my shimmering pink Shire horse with golden hooves, and leap into the pages of ballet history!)

A Dreamy Day In Derbyshire: My Beginning

Today, my ballet day started, as always, in my beautiful Derbyshire cottage, nestled among rolling hills and quaint, stone walls. I awoke with the most glorious sunrise peeking in my window. I am a girl who believes the morning light is like a magical dance of soft pinks and peaches that sets the stage for a delightful day!

To my delight, a beautifully soft, fluffy, pink cloud drifted past my window, casting a pink, sparkly glow all over my room, my beautiful ballet clothes, and, of course, my ever-present, beautiful, sparkly, pink tutu!

The perfect ballet outfit is key to every good time-traveling adventure, so I dressed in a light and breezy cotton shirt in the softest shade of blush pink, with my favorite floaty, soft pink, sequined skirt swirling about my knees, then adorned my sweet bod with my sparkly pink tutu! I think it really sets the stage for an utterly joyful and positive adventure through history! It’s my belief that pink has magic and energy that takes you where you need to go in this great life!

My heart beats to the rhythm of ballet. And with that rhythm in my soul, I took a deep breath, sipped on a glass of rosehip tea (my favorite!), and jumped onto the back of Magic Meg!

It is only ever for a moment in a quiet morning in Derbyshire, England that Magic Meg comes alive, and we set out on our magical ballet-filled adventure! Magic Meg pranced with glee as I whistled our secret ballet song: "Pink Tutu, pink tutu, lead me where ballet will be!”

She pranced with such joy at the start of this ballet history expedition! The horse knows we must travel the globe for a truly sensational journey into ballet history. We’re heading straight for the year 2054 - 05-01!

Oh What a Magnificent 2054-05-01 It Is

Oh my darling reader, my feet danced and my heart soared the moment we arrived in 2054 -05 -01 ! As always, I was utterly entranced by this delightful era!

Time Travelling In Style, Of Course, Darling!

As usual, my dear, my leather rucksack was bursting with the tools of the time traveling ballet blogger: a soft pink sparkly pen for taking notes on all the enchanting ballet moments in history, a crystallised ballet shoe charm to leave a sparkle behind on any ballet show stage, and a beautiful lace pocket handkerchief for drying my ballet tears. (Let’s face it darling, we all have those “wow!” ballet moments that have us moved to tears).

Let’s dive in to see what all of ballet world has in store on this very, very special day…

* A Glimpse Of A Glamorous 2054-05-01 Ballet World*

Now, you lovely readers know I always try to see what’s on in the ballet world, and in 2054 - 05-01, the international ballet world was buzzing! The buzz of all things ballet! Oh, the pure delight, darlings, the excitement, the glamour of the stage! The energy!

As soon as we got to the stage I noticed an extraordinary mix of creativity, skill, and, of course, a wonderful splash of vibrant pink all around the ballet world!

The great big international ballet season has begun for 2054!

Oh my goodness, there were such big, grand productions, but also very intimate and modern-themed ballet stories on stage in every corner of the globe! My heart jumped with joy at the sight!

Here are just a few highlights of my wonderful 2054 - 05-01 ballet-filled adventures…

New York City & The Fabulous Fashion On Display: The Pink Flamingo, by Christopher Wheeldon!

We galloped right on over to New York City for a performance by New York City Ballet at the Lincoln Center! What an evening filled with glitter and delight, darlings!

I knew as soon as I stepped through the door of Lincoln Center that the New York City ballet season is all about showcasing beautiful dance fashion! My goodness, it's dazzling to see what every dancer wears! The sheer creativity!

* Christopher Wheeldon was putting on "The Pink Flamingo," the latest production by one of the biggest ballet names!*

This one-act production was as beautiful as the graceful flamingo! Imagine a modern ballet story all about a flamingo who leaves his lagoon to see the world.
What a captivating, joyful story about freedom, movement, the love of life, and ballet in all its glorious beauty, of course!

The costuming?

Gorgeous pink tutu for every flamingo on the stage! I counted six different tutus that just flowed so effortlessly, while showcasing how perfectly tutus are suited to dance movement! Of course, there was a gorgeous pink ombre tutu on the leading role. So delicate and soft but with so much impact, the audience were spellbound. My ballet notebook was buzzing with excitement, darlings!

And guess what?! A certain pink tutu wearing, ballet history blogger who shall remain nameless! wink wink! managed to find some time between all the glamorous dancing to slip a pink crystallised ballet shoe charm onto the beautiful leading lady’s stage entrance ballet shoe as a symbol of good luck and good dancing from one ballet lover to another.

I do hope I made that charming leading lady laugh when she found her little surprise backstage. My dear reader, one can never be too generous when you encounter such an array of beautiful ballet!

What a delight, darlings! I just had to include all of my lovely photos in my blog - as a sweet reminder to all the wonderful pink ballet fans that *a pink tutu will always take you where you want to be!

London, England & The Ballet Stars Of Today:

And of course darling, a trip across the Atlantic to my home nation of England for a big day at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden for "Giselle!" It’s a great performance every time and a fabulous production at this glorious theater. My feet are dancing to the sound of all the exquisite ballerina shoes tapping to this production! I knew we had to add Covent Garden to our grand tour, don’t you, my dear?

Now, I have to say that what I always enjoy in London is getting to see new stars of ballet rise to fame. I love discovering new stars that show promise! This production of Giselle featured some gorgeous ballet dance performances with a lot of talent coming from the ranks of today’s budding ballerinas, and the stars are certainly born to twirl.

I am very keen on those elegant dancers who work hard and practice their skills day after day on the way to achieving those perfect performances. We must always pay attention to all the up-and-coming ballet stars of tomorrow who show promise. The future is so exciting in this world, isn't it?! We never know which young dancers will take the world of ballet by storm in the years to come!

Paris, France & My Parisian Ballet Shopping Adventure:

Our next trip took us to the very heart of Paris for the Parisian Premiere of the Ballet "La Vie en Rose!" It is certainly worth a stop at the Palais Garnier Opera House for any ballet fan!

As soon as I stepped into the building I could sense the enchantment of the city's dance tradition.

Oh my, the story of "La Vie en Rose!" A magnificent new production, with, of course, beautiful pink and rosy coloured stage costumes. Such beauty. My balletomania just went into overdrive when I saw these graceful dancers twirl across the stage!

This time, darling, I went backstage at the Opera Garnier, because the real charm of Parisian Ballet, is a unique opportunity for you to really delve into the fashion, the art of ballet costume and see the creation of some of the most incredible dance outfits, in every color and style!

There are some lovely shops right beside the ballet studio for dancers, and one that I really want to showcase is the “The Tutu Room,” a fabulous, sparkly pink store that sells a beautiful selection of custom designed ballet shoes. It’s all in that same wonderful blush pink and ombre pink shades. My ballet shoe charm is proudly hanging on one of their elegant ballerina shoes in the window.

The Tutu Room Is My Dream!

And a word for my pink tutu lovers, my dear reader, I was so enchanted, that this amazing Parisian shop gave me a *wonderful pink tutu for my pink tutu website. * Just imagine how happy it made me when they sent me this wonderful piece of history and it will forever be part of my ever growing pink tutu collection! *What an honor to showcase the best in the world of tutus! *

And how happy it makes me to send this beautiful, shimmering pink, sequined creation to all of you out there who like me, want to spread the wonderful love of pink tutus and dance fashion. I hope all of you lovely pink ballet fans will love it as much as I do! Such a beautiful gift from one pink tutu loving heart to another. Oh, it brings so much joy!

* Tokyo, Japan and A Celebration Of The Arts*

Oh my, my lovely darlings!

The next big event of the 2054 season has to be a spectacular showcase of global talent! Tokyo was the chosen destination for the largest ballet competition to ever grace the planet! I’ll be the first to say that competition in any creative discipline can be intense, but that isn’t to say that it’s a negative experience! Nothing is more joyful to me than to see such passion and incredible artistic skills all on the stage at the same time.

This was one of the biggest ballets shows I have seen. We went to Tokyo’s most important, most stylish venue - a ballet theater on a beautiful lagoon, just a little outside of Tokyo. They have gorgeous lighting there in Tokyo and everything feels very elegant and modern. My love for this city just grew with the visit to this incredible theater.

It was amazing to see such a grand event, darling, and the dancers on that stage were from all over the globe, including Australia, Argentina, the USA, England, and Canada – just to name a few.

My dear reader, you will just love to know, there were four British dancers who entered! We're talking the world stage, and this kind of event is about so much more than a single dancer.

This is about the entire ballet community coming together. It is an inspirational moment in time, when dancers, choreographers, directors and critics all unite in a joyous celebration of this exquisite art form. This event was more than a ballet show - it was a real showcase of the global dance community in full force to give you the thrill of a lifetime. I took so many photos and videos, of course. My Ballet History blog is here to celebrate every aspect of ballet that makes us happy! This was an absolute treasure of a show with some truly extraordinary performances, but most importantly - it brought the international ballet community together under one roof!

There is nothing quite as grand and awe-inspiring than a grand event like this. A Gift From My Pink Tutu Traveling: Ballet Blog
