Yes, I'm getting all excited, because I have an extra special time travel journey lined up, taking me right to the very cusp of the future. Imagine - a time where I can peek into a world just moments before a date I'm sure is going to be jam-packed with ballet goodness! 💖
The calendar reads August 2059, but I'm going to jump into time on August 2nd. I mean, who wouldn't want to be there for the first of the month? It's always an exciting day in the world of ballet!
I just love seeing how ballet dances and changes through the ages, and how those shifts ripple through the years. It's fascinating to see how those changes play out on stage, and even more so in the costumes, the stories, and the music! 🩰
Talking about music, this August, there's so much to be delighted by, and I can't wait to check out some shows. From classical to contemporary, and even some of the cutting edge pieces that the choreographers are always dreaming up, it's going to be an incredible month for ballet lovers! 💖
There's talk about a world premiere at The Royal Opera House, and I can already picture a gorgeous new ballet in a sea of pink tutus! My goodness, I can't wait to see what the costumes look like and I have a feeling they'll be right up my street. My heart's skipping a beat! ✨
You see, when you travel to a future world, you have to be prepared, because the past might have a bit of influence on it! Right? 😄 So, this month I'll be taking along my special leather rucksack with everything I might need to be extra ready for this future time trip. My special ballerina tools to be a part of history – think glitter, fabric scraps, and, of course, plenty of inspiration! 💅
Plus, let's be honest, the future world could need a little help to spread the joy of tutus! It's never too late to start and inspire more people with pink. ✨ It's already started with the extra special pink sparkle Magic Meg. My bestest pink shimmering shire horse with those amazing golden hooves just adores taking me on my ballet journeys!
Don't worry though, I will still find time to squeeze in a ballet class! I always make time to practice in this ballet wonderland of a future month! After all, a good warm-up is important! 🤩
And yes, of course, you guessed it – I will be sharing all of my ballet explorations on www.pink-tutu.com, with posts like this. But this time, the special thing is I'll be adding a bit of future! It’ll be the perfect pink paradise. 🌸

Let's talk about those performances…
First off, I’ve heard there's a magnificent production of "Swan Lake" set to be on at The Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in August. Imagine a show of such epic scale, all in pink of course – and with those breathtaking black swan tutus that everyone dreams of wearing. It's going to be absolutely amazing to watch!
Oh! Speaking of black swan tutus! I’ll definitely have to stop at the grand Opera Garnier in Paris to visit the Paris Opera Ballet’s archives for their stunning designs! I heard about some exquisite original creations of tutus dating back from when it was created. I might even ask to be allowed to borrow one to wear myself in Paris on the day! I’d even be happy to dance for the team in return, after all it’s all for a great cause, to help more and more people embrace the beauty and joy of wearing pink tutus! 🩰
Another highlight this August – “Giselle”. There’s a performance coming up at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and my heart’s going pitter-patter already! What a magical ballet with its ethereal* storyline and music, plus all those whimsical tutus the dancers wear! ✨ I’m hoping for a quick stop in Milan.
It’s just one of the reasons why Italy is just so inspiring when it comes to ballet, don’t you think? But there’s so much more to the fascinating world of ballet, don’t forget, because I also love discovering more unknown gems too. It wouldn’t be a trip without a little time spent looking into the lesser known dance troupes of America, China, Japan and Korea.
For example, the Chinese Contemporary Dance Company is creating some jaw-dropping choreography! Plus the Korean Ballet Company are making *such an impact with their performance style. I’ll be making sure I’m on time for all these incredible shows – with a little ballet fashion shopping to add to my collections in between! 👠
It wouldn't be a proper ballet time-trip without a visit to the USA, to catch a show on Broadway! This is such a wonderful world to explore with a never-ending stage and costume creativity. They even have their own amazing tutu designs I am eager to find and wear myself – I have a gut feeling there’ll be an endless variety to choose from, all completely unique.
It’s also never boring going to the amazing* New York City Ballet on the other side of New York. That’s something special to put into your travel diary, to check out how many beautiful tutus there are.
Now for a little sneak peek – August 2059 marks the 100th anniversary of a very important dance production in England, and I’m planning to catch the anniversary celebration – just so exciting! ✨ The Royal Ballet Company is set to re-enact the original production – imagine all the costumes, the original set pieces, all the memories coming alive again! I know it will be an emotionally powerful and very beautiful evening! 💖
The future really is full of exciting things – all with their ballet-related* roots, like the London Ballet creating breathtaking ballet interpretations of modern music. You should see them – amazing and inspirational! Then you have "The Ballet Showcase", which will also be full of beautiful ballet productions of modern works* and contemporary dance. I’m imagining the music being so **different and exciting – a new twist on a very old tradition. 😍
And let’s not forget about the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – one of my all-time favorites in terms of the cutting edge new pieces of dance art! Oh my! It will be such a great time to discover those new ballets and new ballet fashion designers* too, you see? I can't wait to *show off some of their beautiful new designs in one of my *future blog posts. 💖
Let's not forget… Shopping!
And all this ballet travel will not be complete without me spending time in some of the world’s finest ballet shops. I can already see the gorgeous array of tutu skirts that are just waiting for me to find! 🩰 I can almost feel the satin, the sequins, the beautiful colours. A ballet dancer's heart cannot be happy without a bit of shopping, you know. It’s what we love to do and August 2059 looks like a real dream! And just wait until I tell you what I discover in these exciting new places – I’m sure there’s some real gem tutus just waiting to be found in my size!
