Hello darling tutu lovers! It's Friday again and I'm back with another post from my Pink Tutu Blog London. Today's all about my first proper London adventure, a magical whirlwind of tutus, trains, and everything fabulous!
Now, let's talk trains, shall we? Because let's be honest, a journey to London is just as important as the destination itself! My little pink case was packed to the brim with enough pink tutus to fill a small ballet school. Oh, and my trusty old pink duffel bag with all the essentials – sparkly hair clips, lipstick the colour of a flamingo’s feathers, and my favourite sparkly pink trainers! The journey itself was such a delight, passing through the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, where everything feels a little bit more romantic. I just had to twirl in the train carriage! (I got some funny looks from the old dear across the aisle, but I don’t mind! Pink tutus were made for twirling, darling! ?).
Anyway, back to London… Let me tell you, it’s even more exciting in real life than you imagine. Everything feels just a little bit bigger, brighter, more vibrant! The moment I stepped out of King's Cross Station and onto the busy streets, I knew this was going to be a brilliant day.
My first stop was Covent Garden – it’s literally a paradise for pink tutu lovers! All those street performers, artists, and shops… just a gorgeous whirl of energy! I had a right laugh watching some of the buskers. Some of them were pretty good!
After that, I had to try some real London grub - a yummy bacon and cheese toastie! Perfect for a ballerina on the go. Now, I’ve heard that they have a wonderful tradition in Covent Garden – throwing money to performers! Well, I might have, maybe, flung a few extra pounds for a twirling ballerina in a very similar pink tutu to my own! ?? It’s all about supporting fellow twirlers, don’t you think?
After a busy afternoon exploring, my legs were beginning to get tired from all that twirling. But that’s alright because I was a little peckish. So, I indulged in the best hot chocolate ever! And not just any hot chocolate - this was hot chocolate fit for a queen! It came in a massive, thick porcelain mug with swirling pink and white designs – so chic and sophisticated. You know me, all about that girly-girl glamour! It was the perfect little treat after a fun day of exploring.
As the sun started setting and the shops started to close, it was time for something spectacular – the West End show! Now, you all know that ballet and theatre are my weakness. And this performance? Just absolutely mesmerising. It was a captivating tale about a ballerina whose tutu literally glowed in the dark. Honestly, darling, it’s the best show I’ve ever seen – all sparkly costumes, magnificent choreography and a dramatic story that just pulled me in. The tutu effect on the stage was out of this world! I have to say, it was the highlight of my day. You just have to see it for yourselves if you get the chance!
Afterwards, I indulged in some late-night window shopping along Oxford Street. It was already buzzing with lights, even in the early hours! Honestly, the sheer variety of outfits in the shop windows… from glamorous cocktail dresses to super cute tops! I definitely have to revisit the vintage stores for some inspiration! But there wasn’t even one shop in sight selling pink tutus - unbelievable! What is this fashion world coming to?!
I'll be honest, darling, I was completely shattered after a long day in London, so a cuppa was needed! It’s always so lovely to find somewhere to unwind after a busy day! I stumbled into a lovely little cafe near Victoria Station - one with comfy armchairs, pretty pink floral wallpaper and flickering candles. I don’t know about you but I do love a good cuppa! And what could be better than having a hot drink while watching the crowds hustle by? You’re in the heart of everything there – so full of life and colour.
Anyway, that was my Friday in London. A full day of ballet, food, shows, shopping, and everything sparkly! Honestly, darling, London never disappoints! I am ready to explore even more of the city's hidden gems next week.
Don’t forget, you can check out my daily pink tutu outfits on www.pink-tutu.com and stay tuned for next Friday's post! And don't forget, I want everyone to wear pink tutus! I am so determined to make the pink tutu the hottest trend.
Love and tutus, Emma xx
