Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! (Post #63)

Hello, darlings!

It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, and I'm back with another post, straight from the heart of London! This week, I'm practically bursting with excitement - I've had a whirlwind day exploring the capital and I just HAVE to share it all with you!

Before I dive into the details, I just have to tell you - I travelled by train this week! I adore the train. The rhythmic click-clack of the wheels on the track, the plush, comfy seats, the chance to gaze out the window at the countryside rolling by, all while sipping on a hot chocolate and maybe a scone… sigh. It’s pure bliss. It truly felt like the most romantic way to arrive in London.

Friday in London

Today is the kind of day that dreams are made of, darlings! Imagine a crisp, sunny morning, just a touch of that gorgeous Autumnal chill in the air, the cobbled streets glistening under the sun. Picture me in my pinkest tutu - I picked the one with the ruffles - feeling like I’ve just stepped out of a fairytale. This is how we do London, darling!

My Itinerary:

Morning:

First stop - * Covent Garden! * The smell of freshly-baked croissants and the vibrant, colourful fruit and flowers were just the most beautiful welcome! The street performers added such a unique and fun atmosphere. I found myself captivated by a man juggling fire - quite the spectacle!

Of course, no trip to Covent Garden is complete without a spot of ballet-related shopping, so I took a trip into the Royal Opera House shop. I found myself an absolutely beautiful pair of blush-coloured satin ballet slippers - divine!* - perfect for my future rehearsals, of course. Then it was off for a spot of Afternoon Tea, darling, at the ever-so-elegant The Savoy. Scones with clotted cream and jam? Absolutely essential, darlings!

Afternoon:

Ready for some theatre! This evening, I took in "Chicago" at the Adelphi Theatre. What a truly dazzling performance, from the slick choreography to the glitzy costumes and of course, those phenomenal vocals! Talk about an evening filled with glitz and glamour! I even snagged a seat right at the front – I couldn’t believe I got such a prime location!

After the show, I found myself feeling inspired - a whirlwind of ideas already spinning in my head for my next ballet creation, fuelled by the beauty of the music and the grace of the performers.

Evening:

After a busy day, it was back to my hotel room. London is definitely a city for a glamorous girl. I was so looking forward to a luxurious bubble bath with my favourite essential oils, maybe with some lavender or chamomile.

Then, of course, my absolute favourite pastime - indulging in some late-night online browsing - hunting for the perfect new pink tutu, darling! You simply can’t have too many tutus, darling. There's nothing like the thrill of finding a new outfit, a new piece that will set my heart alight. After all, there's a tutu out there for every occasion!

What's on today: Friday 14th November, 1997

So, let's take a moment to pause and look back on what else is happening today:

  • Did you know that 14th November is a date that has historical significance in the world of fashion? * It's the birthday of Coco Chanel, darling!* A legend, and an absolute icon in the fashion world. How chic, wouldn’t you agree?

  • And a little closer to home - let's remember the Derbyshire folk, just like me. 14th November marks the start of the Bakewell Tart Festival! What a lovely celebration of this truly delicious Derbyshire delicacy. My grand-mama always told me there’s no better way to finish a meal than with a slice of Bakewell tart! * Delicious and delicate, it truly is a taste of home!*

Keeping it Pink

Of course, a Pink Tutu Blog would not be complete without talking about colour, my favourite, of course, pink! I love how pink brings so much life and joy into our lives. Pink isn't just a colour; it’s an emotion, a vibe.

But that’s enough about me, darlings! What about YOU?

What did YOU get up to this Friday? Share your London adventures, fashion finds, or anything exciting you're looking forward to! Don't be shy, leave a comment below.

And of course, always remember, darling, pink is the answer, and the answer is ALWAYS pink.

*Till next time, keep it twirling, and stay fabulous! *

Emma
