Pink Tutu Blog London: #103 - A Whirlwind Friday in the Capital! ?

Hey darlings! It’s Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast, back with another installment from my London adventures!

It’s Friday, the 21st of August 1998, and I’ve just arrived in the city that never sleeps! (And let’s face it, sometimes feels like it!) My train journey from Derbyshire was an absolute delight. You can’t beat the rhythmic chug-chugging of a train for setting the mood for a fun-filled weekend in the big city!

And what better way to start a London weekend than with a touch of sparkle? Of course, I had to pick an outfit that made me feel fabulous, so I paired my most darling pink tutu with a floral blouse, a little cardigan, and my trusty pair of white ballet flats. Don’t worry, I’ll post pictures of the look later – I just know it’ll inspire some of you to add a touch of pink tutu to your wardrobes! ?

London's Dance Card: Friday Fun

First stop was the Victoria & Albert Museum! Did you know that this weekend they are having a special exhibition showcasing costumes from some of the most famous ballets throughout history? I mean, how could I resist?! I’ve been dying to see the iconic Swan Lake tutu in person! I even tried to recreate a little "Dying Swan" pose amongst the display (it wasn’t quite as graceful as the real dancers but hey, I gave it my best shot!).

From there, I waltzed (pun intended, obviously!) to the Covent Garden Market to soak up the atmosphere and find some unique little treasures. You never know what you'll stumble upon, from handmade jewellery to vintage clothes – perfect for finding that perfect pink accessory, of course!

Evening Under the Stars: Ballet Bliss

But my evening highlight was most definitely the performance I'd booked tickets for – a stunning contemporary ballet piece called "Whispers of the City." The dancers were absolutely incredible. The music was beautiful, the choreography was so creative, and the entire production had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.

Afterwards, I wandered along the Thames and savoured the twinkling city lights. There’s just something magical about being in a big city at night, all lit up with sparkling lights.

I don’t think you could ask for a better day for a London visitor, especially one with a penchant for the pink tutu life! ?

Shopping & Fashion: My Pink-tastic Favourites

Before I left London today, I took a quick jaunt to Harrods for some window shopping. (I'm just a little obsessed with those fancy windows, they are literally art installations!) I must say, some of their new spring collections have some amazing pink shades that have me dreaming of summer! Maybe a few new accessories to add to my collection will be the perfect way to complete the perfect tutu-themed outfit! I even spied a little something special – a gorgeous pink tutu handbag – just the thing to add some extra whimsy to my look.

From Derbyshire to London: Finding the Perfect Blend

One of the things I love most about living in Derbyshire is how easy it is to hop on a train and escape to the city. It’s so refreshing to experience the buzz of London for a day, especially when you have the quiet countryside to come back to. But really, nothing compares to getting back into my cosy cottage in Derbyshire, tucking myself in with a cup of herbal tea and browsing online for even more inspiration.

That’s all for today! Remember to head to www.pink-tutu.com and check out my latest photo-diary for all the pics from my London adventure today. Be sure to let me know in the comments what you’re doing this weekend!

And don’t forget, even the most daring of city styles can be topped off with a touch of pink tutu magic. Maybe a new tutu outfit is all you need for the perfect dose of feminine whimsy!

Stay pink-tastic, darlings! ?
