Hello, darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog London! This week has been absolutely fabulous. I’m sitting here in my little flat in Chelsea, sipping on a cuppa and trying to remember all the incredible adventures I crammed into one London Friday. It’s always a treat to explore this fabulous city, but today was particularly magical. Let’s get into it!
From Derbyshire to London: Train Travel in Style
Early Friday morning, I bid farewell to the green rolling hills of Derbyshire (and my darling mama, who insisted on making me a new batch of pink tutu cookies for the journey). I slipped into my favourite pink ensemble - a ruffled silk blouse and a tulle skirt I found at a vintage boutique in Nottingham (it twirls like a dream!). Then, armed with a hot chocolate and a copy of Vogue, I hopped onto the train for my London adventure.
I do love travelling by train, it's so calming! The rhythm of the tracks and the landscape whizzing past is the perfect soundtrack to planning all the fun I'm going to have in London. And the best bit? My pink tutu bag, naturally!
A Pink Paradise at Liberty's
The train deposited me at Paddington Station, which, of course, meant my first stop was Liberty's department store. Oh, my heavens, darling! It’s the epitome of everything wonderful: the intricate architecture, the delicious scent of perfumery, and all those luxurious silks and velvets… A dream, pure and simple! I actually felt myself go giddy with excitement when I saw a pink satin coat – so gorgeous, it was practically screaming my name. I know I don’t need another coat (especially when my wardrobe is bursting with them!), but who can resist such elegance?
Lunch at The Ivy
After a bit of window shopping at Liberty's, I made my way to The Ivy for a delightful lunch. Oh, the elegance! The ambience was exquisite and the food was even better. I had the most beautiful grilled salmon with a delicate saffron sauce, and a side of the most divine asparagus. You can’t tell by this picture, but the dessert (a rhubarb crumble, perfect for a London summer) was quite delicious too.

The Magic of Ballet
I'm so lucky that I managed to score a last-minute ticket to the Royal Ballet’s performance of Swan Lake. Oh, it was magnificent! Every single moment was breathtaking: the elegant dancers, the beautiful costumes, and the dramatic music - it was truly an unforgettable experience. It even sparked some inspiration for my new tutu creation (I think feathers will be making a glorious comeback!), but shh… it's a secret!
After the ballet, I went to a rather special gathering – an exclusive private event showcasing new talent in fashion. It was fascinating to see such creativity!

Discovering the Magic of London’s Street Art
Of course, no trip to London would be complete without a little bit of artistic inspiration. I spent the late afternoon strolling through Shoreditch, taking in the incredible street art. I even snapped a picture of myself with a vibrant mural that caught my eye. Oh, it just felt so good to breathe in the energy of this creative corner of the city.

A Touch of Pink and a Nighttime Ballet Show
The evening saw me heading back to the West End to experience the world of the “The Lion King,” a masterpiece on a scale that left me speechless! The energy, the costumes, the music - all so extraordinary! The show reminded me that the best stories are often those that capture the heart. Oh, the singing! And those incredible masks…
And naturally, I found a touch of pink! As I took a break between shows for a spot of ice cream (strawberry and vanilla, of course!), I couldn't resist a sparkly pink cupcake from a shop just around the corner. Perfect to celebrate a perfect day.

Pink Tutu Dreams
Now, sitting here in my flat with a glass of chilled rosé and my new, sparkling pink tutu skirt (just for this weekend, naturally, I didn't get a coat at Liberty's after all - I just have so many already) I’m dreaming of next week's adventures in London. I have already scoped out a beautiful, vintage pink ball gown for the annual London Fashion Week gala - it will be the perfect accent for my sparkling crown. It was such a good day and I feel so lucky to have found myself surrounded by so much beauty, elegance, and creative spirit.
