Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #200
Hello my darling tutu-loving friends! It’s Emma here, and you know what that means: it’s Friday, which means it's Pink Tutu Blog time! 💋
This week, I’m taking you on a whirlwind adventure right here in London, the city that never sleeps (though sometimes I wish it did after a late night at the theatre!).
As many of you know, I'm a Derbyshire girl at heart, but there’s something about the buzz of London that just pulls me in like a sparkly hair tie to a bun. It’s full of vibrant energy, amazing food, incredible fashion, and, of course, the most dazzling ballet scene in the world!
This week, I decided to embrace the London life, starting with a beautiful train journey from the peak district (I was performing with the local theatre group there last night and have a busy schedule so need a change of scenery).
I must confess, I always love a train journey. There's something so calming and romantic about watching the scenery flash by as you sip your Earl Grey (extra milk, of course, it's a ballet girl's life, darling!) and lose yourself in a good book or catching up with my latest fashion magazine.
But let’s talk about the star of today’s show – me, of course! Because what’s a pink tutu blogger on a London adventure without a fabulous pink tutu to wear? It's a bold look that makes heads turn, I have to admit! Even the train conductors give me a knowing smile, a bit like saying, "Right on, sis!"
My London Friday
Now, the best bit of my London Friday? Everything! Let’s start with the iconic landmark – Buckingham Palace! I managed to catch the changing of the guards, a sight that always brings a thrill, and captured some fabulous photos in my pink tutu – they'll be popping up on the blog next week! 😉 Then it was off to the theatre district for a delightful treat: afternoon tea at The Savoy! It was such a treat – dainty finger sandwiches, fresh scones with clotted cream (I may have eaten three!), and a pot of steaming tea that warmed me from the inside out. It's the perfect afternoon pick-me-up, darling. Of course, the decor at The Savoy is absolutely breathtaking, I almost wanted to live there!
The evening was spent soaking up the magic of London's theatre scene. I saw a spectacular ballet performance at the Royal Opera House - oh, it was just pure joy! The choreography, the costumes, the talent - it truly blew my mind. And yes, darling, there was definitely a touch of pink in the performance too, always! 🩰
The night ended on a high at the Covent Garden Market. It’s bursting with street performers, charming shops, and even more delectable food (more scones!). You can literally feel the creative energy pulsating around you, making me excited to take my tutu there for some inspired street dancing.
A Day of Fashion
It’s no secret, London is a fashion capital, and no trip would be complete without some serious shopping. I love getting lost in the boutiques, finding hidden gems and picking up those beautiful items to add to my already extensive tutu collection, and maybe just a touch of London-inspired chic to take back to Derbyshire with me.
For a bit of serious retail therapy, I hit Oxford Street and picked up some gorgeous accessories. And of course, I added a touch of sparkle to my wardrobe at the beautiful Liberty’s, one of my favorite spots for a dose of vibrant color and gorgeous details. Oh, I might have purchased another pair of shoes. Ballet girl gotta stay stylish!
Friday Night Fun
When you're a tutu-loving blogger, you can't escape the lure of a good Friday night! The air is electric in London and it calls out for some dancing and laughter.
To end my day in London on a high, I found myself at a lively, retro jazz club tucked away in the back alleys of Soho. You’d never guess such a place existed but the music was pure magic! I lost myself in the groove, a pink blur whirling around the dance floor, catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror, feeling utterly glamorous and just happy to be part of the rhythm of London.
Sharing My Passion
That’s my London Friday in a nutshell! Full of sunshine, smiles, and a dash of pink tutu magic, naturally! If you’re ever in the capital, darling, just follow the twinkle of my pink tutu and you’re sure to find an adventure around every corner.
You see, my dear readers, my goal in life is simple: spread the love of ballet, inspire everyone to find their inner grace and embrace the joy of wearing a pink tutu. After all, what’s more joyful than twirling your way through life in a color that speaks to your soul?
Until next week, stay fabulous!
Yours in pink,
Emma
