Pink Tutu Blog London #205: Friday 4th August 2000 - A Whirlwind of London Delights!

Hello my lovelies! Welcome back to the Pink Tutu Blog! It’s Friday and that means I’m here with another fabulous blog post straight from the bustling heart of London! I am SO excited to share all my adventures with you - this city never fails to inspire, and today, it's truly been a day of whimsy and wonder. Let’s get this show on the road!

I boarded the train from Derbyshire bright and early this morning, a bright pink tulle tutu peeking out beneath my floaty dress, and a smile on my face. Train journeys are so much fun - I love looking out the window at the scenery, spotting quaint villages, listening to music and people watching. There's a certain magic in a train journey, you know? It’s a journey in itself!

Stepping Into The London Vibe

As I disembarked at King's Cross, that quintessential London energy buzzed through my fingertips. The air was a heady mix of street vendors’ aromas, buskers’ tunes and the scent of freshly-brewed coffee. Oh, London! I could almost feel a wave of inspiration swirling around my pink tutu!

I'm always in the mood for a good old London adventure, and today's adventure included…

1. Shopping For a Tutu Treat

Let’s get straight to it - what else would I be doing in London but looking for tutus? It would be a travesty to be in this vibrant fashion capital and not visit one of London's iconic department stores. My pick for today? A swirly visit to Liberty, a paradise of beautiful things - everything from hand-woven silk fabrics and handcrafted pottery to luxurious chocolates and elegant handbags! I managed to squeeze in a little shopping break for myself (don’t worry - you'll see what I bought in next week's post!), which ended with finding a perfectly-pink tulle ribbon for my own pink tutu collection. After all, a tutu never has enough embellishments!

2. A Lunchtime Ballet Blitz

Lunchtime meant it was time to refuel my ballet spirit with a little ballerina heaven at Sadler's Wells, where the Royal Ballet are currently showcasing an incredible piece. As always, my favourite parts were the beautifully flowing choreography and the raw emotion the dancers convey - it's simply spellbinding!

3. A Sunset Walk and Piccadilly Circus Sparkle

London really is a sight to behold, especially when bathed in the golden light of a setting sun. I wandered through Covent Garden, a whimsical marketplace overflowing with music, art, and delicious scents.

My stroll continued towards Piccadilly Circus, where the bright lights and dazzling billboards added to London’s magnetic pull. I felt like I could spend hours here, taking in the buzz of a million people, from bustling tourists to local street performers, creating a wonderful cacophony of laughter, chatter and music!

4. My Fashion Favourites!

Oh, the clothes! My trip wouldn't be complete without a peek into the stylish windows of Oxford Street - a vibrant avenue brimming with shops bursting with all the latest trends. It’s no surprise that London is a mecca for fashion! From bold colours to classic styles, the stores displayed a myriad of textures and prints that I could lose myself in!

5. A Day to Remember

The night painted London with its hues of violet and crimson, and the city’s vibrance lingered in the air even as I hopped back onto the train heading back to Derbyshire. It was a magical day!

London - you are simply divine!
