#PinkTutuBlogLondon: A Tutu-licious Day Exploring London! (Post #219)
Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, back with another fabulous Friday #PinkTutuBlogLondon! This week, I've swapped the peaceful Derbyshire countryside for the vibrant buzz of London, and trust me, it's been a whirlwind of colour, culture, and of course, a little bit of pink tutu magic!
As you all know, a ballerina's life is one of constant movement, and train travel is my absolute favourite way to embrace it. It's like a magical journey to new adventures! So, after a splendid performance at the Derby Theatre last night (another triumph in my sparkly pink tutu, naturally!), I packed my trusty ballerina bag with my favourite London essentials – my trusty #PinkTutu and my trusty trusty notebook for sketching outfits - and set off on the train this morning.
The scenery flitted past my window – rolling hills giving way to towering buildings, and my heart was full of anticipation. London never fails to capture my imagination, and today was no exception. My mission: to explore the city’s cultural gems and soak up the incredible atmosphere, all whilst searching for a perfect pink tutu-tastic outfit!
First Stop: Covent Garden
Landing in the heart of London, Covent Garden, was an immediate assault on my senses! The colourful market stalls burst with handcrafted treasures and artistic delights, while buskers played enchanting melodies. It’s always such a treat to wander through, admiring the vibrant energy, and even catching the occasional street performance - even spotted a fellow ballerina (with a rather fabulous tutu!), and managed to grab a selfie with her. But, I couldn’t just waltz past the iconic Royal Opera House, could I? So, a little ballerina couldn’t resist peeking inside! The grandeur of the theatre took my breath away, the gorgeous architecture transporting me to another time. It made my little tutu-loving heart swell.
Fueling Up on Pink: The Sweetest Stop
A quick bite to eat was in order! My taste buds were tingling, so I made a beeline for "Pinkalicious Cakes" – the most whimsical and utterly pink patisserie you could imagine! From pink macarons the size of my hand to fragrant rosewater cupcakes, every bite was an explosion of flavour and visual delight! ( Let’s be honest, a tiny bit of cake goes with every #PinkTutu outfit!).
Ballet Dreams on the Stage: London Coliseum
With a stomach happy and my spirit energetic, I headed for London's grandest theatrical venues! I was on a mission to see the iconic "The Nutcracker!" and of course, no trip to London would be complete without a dose of ballet magic! The London Coliseum – a majestic theatre adorned with intricate detail – offered the perfect backdrop for this festive masterpiece! Every twirl, every jump, every emotion transported me right onto the stage, It's just so inspiring to witness such talent and artistry firsthand, I love being part of the ballet community and feeling that shared energy!
Retail Therapy and Finding the Perfect #PinkTutu
The London stage left me aching for the light and airy feel of shopping on Oxford Street, but what would a tutu-loving trip to London be without a bit of #PinkTutu retail therapy? The shops just beckon to me like the beautiful music that draws a ballerina to the stage. Of course, I couldn't just leave without some #PinkTutu additions. My latest find? A pastel pink tulle scarf that looks just amazing with my current favorite, sparkly-hot-pink tutu! Can’t wait to see what #PinkTutu outfit combinations this inspires!
London's Evening Lights: The Magic Begins
Evening was settling in, painting the London sky with shades of pink, lavender, and a touch of orange. A bit of twilight magic was just the right tonic! I couldn't resist a wander through the "Night Lights" exhibit at The Victoria and Albert Museum! It's simply dazzling to see iconic London locations lit up in unexpected ways. It added a completely new dimension to the city.
My #PinkTutu London Reflections
The clock ticked past midnight, reminding me that London's magic had left its imprint on my soul. I'm already eagerly anticipating my next adventure in the capital! As always, London has been an inspiring, dazzling and utterly fabulous trip, brimming with art, fashion, music and a hint of tutu magic! Whether it's a pink-tinted cupcake or the grandeur of a grand ballet performance, the city holds endless opportunities to unleash our inner creativity.
Until next Friday, don't forget to follow your heart’s beat! It will lead you to your own tutu-licious journey! Don't forget to share your #PinkTutuAdventures on www.pink-tutu.com, darlings! Let's create tutu-tastic memories!
Love always,
Emma
P.S. I found a fantastic new vintage store in Covent Garden – "The Vintage Tutu Emporium" – and they had the most incredible pink and lavender tutus, I literally did a little pirouette in delight! What is your favorite pink tutu shop? Do let me know in the comments below!
