Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures, Part 410

Hello my dearest tutu-loving friends! šŸ©°

It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London post! This week, I packed my pinkest suitcase, kissed my Derbyshire home goodbye, and hopped on the train to London. Nothing quite beats the thrill of watching the scenery whiz by, a twee pink floral head scarf framing my face, a big pink fluffy handbag nestled by my side.

Speaking of my bag, it's practically bursting with exciting things to share with you today. From the ballet performance that got me here (yes, my adventures are fully funded by twirling!), to the fabulous London finds I discovered - I'm ready to share every single sparkly, pink, fabulous detail!

Train Travels and Tutu Dreams

The journey on the train was divine. It was almost as much fun as arriving in London itself. The windows are so big you can look out across the landscape - beautiful green fields, farms and rivers, and glimpses of towns and cities as the train zips by. I made sure to sit by the window. Just watching the world go by with my nose pressed against the cool glass put me in a truly happy place.

For this trip, I wanted to make my pink tutu as glamorous as my destination. I've got a new tutu (I have quite a few actually!) that is absolutely perfect. It is made of beautiful light pink, gauzy material and is really bouncy! I also have this pink beaded bag that matches, so my outfit was perfection from head to toe. Even my handbag has pink and silver sequins on it and I am completely in love!

Of course, being me, I just had to share my journey with the world! I posted a quick selfie, a video of the countryside scenery with "Pink Tutu Goes To London" in the caption. It already has a good 200 likes! You see, my followers adore a good story - especially when it involves pink tutus, travelling, and fashion, of course!

My Friday in London

So here I am, back in the capital, and I'm absolutely buzzing with excitement! London is just SO lively. And today's weather is glorious ā€“ sunshine, a gentle breeze, just perfect.

What are we doing today?

The Theatre & The Shows

To start with, weā€™re heading to the theatre! Can you believe it?! This is my first trip to London for a whole six weeks and thereā€™s already an amazing performance to see tonight: a modern reimagining of the iconic "Swan Lake" with a twist, which includes an extraordinary contemporary piece by my absolute favorite choreographer, I can't even share the details... You'll just have to wait and see! It is such a dream to be watching this tonight. I can barely believe it. Just wait until you hear about it!

Londonā€™s Shoppes Are the Best!

There is simply so much amazing fashion in London. Everything you can dream of ā€“ it's in London. Itā€™s time to see whatā€™s new and to hunt for some sparkly, pretty things! The plan is to hit some of Londonā€™s most fabulous fashion boutiques, starting with some lovely ones around Bond Street and Sloane Street.

And of course, my wardrobe is not complete without the perfect pink hat! This will really set my outfit off perfectly.

I want a a new little pink beret with a pink silk bow on it that I will look adorable in. I am going to hunt for this everywhere and it has to match my new tutu.

Dinner in Covent Garden

Later this evening, I've booked a table at one of my favorite places in London, a fabulous restaurant in Covent Garden, called 'La Petite Rose'. It's a tiny but absolutely charming little place with a cute patio and amazing floral arrangements - just perfect for a lovely evening. And youā€™ll be thrilled to know they serve pink champagne (of course!).

Exploring the Parks & Royal Parks

On Saturday, Iā€™ll be exploring some of London's green spaces! The first stop is St. James Park. A huge sprawling royal park that is just the place to go for a lovely, long, leisurely stroll and maybe a picnic.

From there, Iā€™m walking down to Buckingham Palace - oh, the royal residence! I can't wait to see it in all its glory. Then, we are strolling across The Green Park to Hyde Park and exploring Kensington Gardens ā€“ it's just beautiful. The possibilities are endless when exploring these glorious gardens and there will be so many pictures for my Instagram followers. It is the perfect day to wear my sparkly little ballet pumps and pink silk scarf with all the pink roses in my hair!

More to Come

Of course, this is only a sneak peek of what is to come. I have more amazing adventures lined up in London over the next week. Stay tuned for more from this pink-tastic city! And keep a look out for all of my stories, photos, and tips - thereā€™ll be more on my London adventures next week! And of course, make sure you are following my "Pink Tutu Goes to London" story - I can't wait to share it all with you.

Until next Friday,

Lots of love and a pink hug,

What to Expect in London Today - Friday 9th July, 2004

*For a pink tutu-loving blogger, today in London has something for everyone. *

Hereā€™s a bit about what is going on in London, on Friday 9th July 2004!

  • *Swan Lake: * Today is the last night of the ā€œSwan Lakeā€ revival show. The final curtain falls at London's prestigious Theatre Royal Drury Lane, tonight. It's been such a massive hit - and I am thrilled I was able to get tickets. There has been a lot of hype in the press about the modern reinterpretation and new choreography - they even gave it a four-star rating, so it must be good. I can't wait to see it. It's not too late for anyone to get tickets, if you want to rush to catch it!

And here is a bonus...

  • Film: Finding Neverland - In case you havenā€™t been to the cinema lately, this is a good film, although itā€™s only been in cinemas for a few months. A heart-warming, quirky and slightly unconventional biopic starring Johnny Depp - itā€™s an incredible film.

    • Fashion: London is famous for Fashion - There are so many amazing stores around and they are everywhere! I donā€™t even know where to start to mention them all, but of course I am a fan of Topshop - it is the must go-to place. They always have fantastic clothing and bags. But there is also Zara, House of Fraser and even Primark is getting a great reputation lately with its high street fashion bargains. Of course, the whole street of Bond Street and Sloane Street is famous for its luxury brands - this is my playground!

**Remember: Fashion has no age - or dress size and if you want to feel beautiful, feel free to wear a pink tutu! Youā€™ll feel like a real princess - go for it!!

    Tips for Exploring London

London is a big place - even for the seasoned traveller, London has many layers! The city has its iconic landmarks - like Big Ben, Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace. And the shopping districts: Oxford Street, the West End, the Barbican. There is SO much to do. For a weekend or even just a long day trip to London, it really pays to get the most of it.

  • Wear comfortable shoes! - you'll be doing a lot of walking around.

  • Pack light, but include your phone! You'll need to capture all the beautiful things in London!
  • Take the tube - London Underground - It's a quick and cheap way to travel around the city and it's everywhere - in fact, it can take you anywhere you need to go.

If you've been in London recently, or are planning a trip soon, leave me a comment below. I'd love to hear what you think! And let me know what pink-tastic adventures are in your plans, because you just know I want to hear all about them.
