Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! 🩰

Hello, my darlings! It’s Emma here, and guess what?! I’m back in London, the city that never sleeps – and neither do I when there are so many fabulous things to see and do! This week’s adventures have been a whirl of pink tulle and sparkling lights, so grab a cuppa and settle in – it's time for another #PinkTutuBlogLondon journey!

Chugging Through the Countryside

The train journey from Derbyshire was a dream. I settled into my first-class carriage, comfy as a cloud, with my pink travel case snuggled by my side. I spent the trip catching up on my ballet readings (because, you know, I’m never truly off duty), and indulging in a lovely slice of Victoria sponge. The countryside whizzed by outside my window – the green fields, the sleepy villages, it was so picturesque! The moment I felt the familiar buzz of London station, I knew I was home – in a way, that is, since I actually live just a little further up north! But London feels like my second home – full of energy, excitement and, of course, stunning ballet opportunities! I can’t wait to soak up the city’s energy.

A Friday Fling in the Capital

I kicked off my London weekend with a fabulous morning shopping spree. Now, you all know that I'm a huge fan of all things pink, so naturally, I had to head to the infamous Liberty store. Imagine, if you will, a wonderland of fabrics, prints and colours – an absolute delight! It’s no surprise that I came away with some fabulous pink lace ribbon, some delicate silk scarves, and even a new pink cardigan.

Speaking of pink, I also snagged the most perfect little pink satin clutch, just perfect for holding my lipstick, tissues, and (of course) some tutu-shaped sweets. And can we talk about their shoes section? Heaven on earth for a ballerina girl.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

After my shopping spree, I treated myself to a little afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason. It was divine, complete with scones and clotted cream (so decadent!) and the cutest selection of tiny sandwiches I have ever seen. And who doesn't love a bit of finger sandwiches?! But let me tell you, you definitely need a lot of energy for a London day.

Later, I headed over to the Covent Garden Market to get a feel of the city’s vibe. I love the eclectic mix of performers, artists, and stall holders - a bit like my blog, only in real life. A group of young street dancers caught my eye; their energy was infectious, so naturally, I found myself joining in for a few twirls. My new satin clutch was an instant success - who says you can't rock a tutu and be fashionable?! This was the perfect start to my evening.

Ballet Under the Stars

This evening I was whisked off to see "Giselle" at the Royal Opera House. I love the classics – so beautifully crafted and emotional. As the orchestra played, and the story unfolded with every graceful movement, I felt my spirit soar. It’s these magical moments, these perfect performances, that really drive me to continue sharing my love of ballet through my blog. Oh, how I love the magic of the theatre! The curtain calls felt like standing ovations for every ballet teacher, every ballerina who has inspired me along the way. The joy in the auditorium was tangible!

After the show, a friend invited me for drinks at a hidden jazz bar in Soho. A pink cocktail, smoky jazz tunes, and lots of laughs - a delightful end to my day. But you know me, my darlings. This city is never really asleep. My adventure doesn't end there. And tomorrow, more London wonders to discover…
