Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #451 - A Whirlwind Friday in the Capital! 🩰🌸

Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, Emma, here, ready to whisk you away to London on this sunny Friday! After another wonderful performance last night in Derby, I'm off on a whistle-stop tour of the capital, embracing all the fabulously fashionable delights London has to offer.

My train journey was just dreamy, a perfect blend of serene countryside views and a chance to catch up on my favourite magazine - "Vogue" of course! 👠 I felt so glamorous, all twirling in my pink tutu on the train, you'd have thought I was about to take centre stage at the Royal Opera House! (Well, maybe not that far yet, but I'm getting there!)

As always, I’m keeping my blog updates strictly on a Friday, as my trusty little Pink Tutu website, www.pink-tutu.com, is the place where all my sartorial dreams are shared. (Have you been checking it regularly, my dears? You wouldn't want to miss any of the fashion updates or pink-tastic tips!).

So, let’s begin my Friday whirlwind! The first thing I wanted to do was find the perfect vintage tea dress for tonight's performance, so I hotfooted it to a little hidden gem near Victoria station called 'Fashion Fix'. I tell you what, the racks were jam-packed with gorgeous vintage finds, all vying for my attention! I ended up choosing a sweet lavender tea dress with delicate lace sleeves, just the ticket for a stylish, vintage-inspired look!

After a spot of tea at Fortnum & Mason, which was just as fancy as you'd imagine (they even have pink macarons!), I went to visit the wonderful National Gallery. It's been years since I last visited this art haven. I lost myself amongst the timeless masterpieces, feeling so inspired by the beauty and craftsmanship of these stunning works of art. 🖼️

Then it was time to treat myself to a little retail therapy at Liberty's. The iconic floral print exterior and the luxurious, fragrant interior were simply heavenly. You'll be seeing me rocking some gorgeous pink floral silk scarves from their latest collection. I had to grab myself a couple, just in case! 💖

After all that shopping and sightseeing, my feet needed a little pampering, so I went to Claridge's for some of their famous afternoon tea! Delicious finger sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and lashings of Earl Grey tea, oh my! It was a truly delightful experience, so perfect for a stylish ballerina like me! 🧁

But wait, there’s more! The best was yet to come. I had been looking forward to this performance for weeks - a special showing of the ‘Giselle’ ballet at the Sadler’s Wells theatre. This stunning theatre, tucked away near the Barbican, felt almost as if I was transported back in time, full of magic and history. And the performance itself, oh, the pure elegance of the ballerinas, the story woven through each move, the beautiful music. It simply left me speechless! 🩰💖

This amazing night wouldn’t be complete without a delicious Italian meal. My favourite restaurant for authentic Italian food - you won't believe it! – is tucked away in a little backstreet near Covent Garden. The pasta was so heavenly, I could have danced right back out of there. 🍝

And there you have it, my dear friends, a truly perfect Friday in London. My tutus will be twirling for days after this magical weekend! 💖

Of course, I’ve left plenty to explore for next time, but for now, it’s time to head back to my cosy Derby apartment and dream of all the wonderful things London has in store for me next time!

Don't forget to keep checking in at www.pink-tutu.com for all my pink fashion tips, ballet inspiration, and of course, all the adventures I have in London, and other lovely destinations!

Love and twirls,

Emma 🩰💖
