Pink Tutu Blog London: Post 454 - A Friday Frock-tastic Frolic in the Capital! 🩰

Hello darlings! It's Friday, and you know what that means... it's Pink Tutu Blog London time! 💋 This week I've been twirling my way around the glorious city of London, and let me tell you, it's been a real corker. I'm already on a mission to convince everyone in the capital to adopt the Pink Tutu lifestyle! After all, it's the only way to experience true sartorial joy.

This week I travelled down from my humble abode in Derbyshire by train, my tutu billowing majestically in the carriage (yes, it does get quite a bit of attention!) I'm all about travelling the sustainable way, and the train offers so much more than a view. I was on a mission to immerse myself in all things London: shopping, theatre, and, of course, ballet!

But before I delve into the dazzling details, let me tell you, darling, London really has the best of everything. There's always something going on, something new to discover. This week, I was excited to see "A Chorus Line" on stage. My word! It was brilliant! If you have a chance, you really must see it, it’s a fabulous show and there is so much talent on display. I’m just dying to take my next ballet class! I wonder if they do them at the Royal Opera House... hmm, I must look into that!

Fashion Frolics at Liberty's

I’ve always adored Liberty, haven’t you? It’s a bit of a treasure trove of everything exquisite and beautiful – fabrics, homeware, clothes – and you just never know what you might find in the shops tucked away in their historic building.

First off, I treated myself to a fabulous silk scarf in shades of coral and pistachio green. The feel of it is divine! Of course, I couldn't resist a new pair of shoes – I simply can’t go out without wearing something sparkly and I was fortunate to find a pair of delicate pink kitten heels, which I must admit, had me waltzing all over the shop floor in no time!

After that little spree, it was time for a quick bite. The aroma of fresh coffee and warm croissants in Liberty’s café had me quite overcome. I'm quite partial to a cuppa and I've developed a weakness for croissants – oh, a real indulgence – I am not really supposed to have such a thing!

Street Art & Ballet on the Bankside

I spent the rest of the day exploring the Bankside area. It’s buzzing with so much energy, such creative people doing their thing – street art galore, cafes, restaurants... all a beautiful backdrop to my Friday frock-tastic frolic.

I couldn’t resist trying out my new shoes on this street trip, and you know, they did seem to lend themselves quite perfectly to a ballet move or two on the pavement – as much as it was safe and not at all hazardous of course! I'm all for finding the beauty in the everyday, and honestly, what could be more charming than a little street-ballet routine in the midst of a bustling city?

Speaking of which, there was even a flashmob ballet performance! Oh darling, I thought it was such a lovely surprise. It was a group of students, all clad in matching white tutus, doing a routine to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, right on the Bankside Walk! Talk about ballet breaking out from the stage and into the streets. This sort of unexpected artistry is precisely why London never fails to captivate me.

The Magic of the West End

My evening was topped off by another visit to the West End - an enchanting evening of laughter and a truly magnificent performance at the Harold Pinter Theatre. The play? The musical? I have to leave some mystery for you – my darling readers, and this little pink-tutu wearing blogger must stay up on her secrets...

The West End never fails to impress me. And oh! How I long to be up there on that stage. One day! One day it will happen. One day…

Pink Tutu Tip: "A Touch of Theatre"

Remember when you're exploring London's theatre scene to consider taking the bus rather than the tube. I love finding an open-topped bus when I want to see the sights – even a rainy day makes for an exciting adventure – and there is no better way to experience London, it’s all about soaking up that charming ambiance, and enjoying those charming historical buildings. So, what's next, darlings? Next Friday's adventure, of course! You won't want to miss out! Remember to pop by www.pink-tutu.com. It’s Friday and it’s time to think Pink Tutu. 💋

More Adventures, More Fun

I know you're dying to hear more! So, I’ll leave you with this thought: I believe everyone should experience the joy of wearing a Pink Tutu! Let’s all share that spark of happiness – after all, what’s a better way to bring some colour and whimsy into your life? I love this time of year here in the capital. It’s always so vibrant. Don’t forget to check back next Friday for more adventures in London!

Sending you love and happy twirls,

Emma
