Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #456 – A Whirlwind Friday in the Big Smoke!
Hello my darling dears, and welcome to another fabulous Friday edition of Pink Tutu Blog London!
This week, your girl Emma has been whisked away from the rolling hills of Derbyshire and transported to the bustling metropolis that is London! It’s like stepping into a whirlwind of colour, sound and, most importantly, fashion! The air crackles with excitement and the sound of a thousand tutus rustling as dancers flit from rehearsal to performance, it’s a balletic paradise!
And, naturally, as you all know, your favourite tutu-clad adventurer never travels without a touch of pink in tow. I arrived at Euston station looking absolutely fabulous in a hot pink tutu that matched my matching handbag, paired with a gorgeous off-the-shoulder blush pink blouse. Oh, and let's not forget the blush pink glitter eyeshadow, the pink nail polish, and of course, my beloved pink ballet flats. It's a little bit of Pink Tutu Magic, and trust me, it always gets heads turning!
Chugging to London: The Glamour of Train TravelNow, as a girl who truly believes in embracing every facet of the ballerina lifestyle, train travel is a must. Not only is it oh-so-chic, but it's a perfect opportunity to people-watch, relax, and allow myself to become completely absorbed in a good book (this week, I'm diving into "The Ballets of Diaghilev" – fascinating!). And let's not forget, a little bit of gentle swaying to the rhythm of the tracks can always get those calf muscles warmed up for a grand jeté or two, am I right?
The train journey itself was an absolute delight. As the scenery changed from rolling green hills to quaint villages to, finally, the London skyline, I felt that excitement bubbling inside, a sensation only heightened by the anticipation of my evening ballet performance. Did I mention that I have a fab show coming up in the West End? cue the spotlight and a wave of excited squeals!
London Friday: A Tutu-ific WhirlwindAfter checking into my gorgeous little pink-hued boutique hotel – seriously, you have to check it out, it’s like stepping into a fairytale – it was time to hit the streets! My mission today? Explore London like a true ballerina! I have an itinerary packed with all the exciting experiences a girly girl could wish for – from the legendary Royal Opera House to Covent Garden’s bustling flower market to indulging in a spot of afternoon tea at a quintessential London cafe. Oh, and of course, some shopping is absolutely essential! I need to pick up a new pair of pointe shoes and a matching pink handbag, maybe even a sparkly new leotard – wink wink – and you all know what that means… another fabulous fashion post for you on the blog, my loves!
Covent Garden's Delightful DanceCovent Garden was the perfect starting point for my London escapade. It's a feast for the senses! Street performers filled the square with their talent – from jugglers to dancers to musicians – each adding their unique artistry to the bustling atmosphere. There’s something undeniably magical about seeing people express themselves so freely! And who knows, maybe it will inspire some of you to unleash your inner ballerina – pink tutu and all!
Tea, Tiaras and TutusAs the afternoon unfolded, I found myself stepping into the elegant confines of a vintage London tearoom. It was as if the entire experience was lifted straight out of a vintage fairytale! Floral china, sparkling chandeliers, and decadent treats were the perfect recipe for an afternoon filled with delightful indulgence! It was a fitting way to replenish my energy before venturing into the evening’s performance.
A Royal Night of DanceAnd finally, the evening arrived, and the time had come to embrace my true calling – the stage! I am performing tonight in “The Sleeping Beauty” at the London Coliseum, playing the role of one of the Lilac Fairy's little attendants. As I prepare backstage, I feel that familiar mix of butterflies in my stomach and adrenaline coursing through my veins, a sensation that never quite diminishes. Every single time, it feels like the first time. There’s nothing quite like the magic of a ballet performance.
You can imagine my excitement when I was chosen for this role, to grace the hallowed stage of London's famous Coliseum! You all know how much I adore “The Sleeping Beauty” ballet. And I’m getting the chance to perform with a phenomenal company! I’ll be sure to update you on how it goes tomorrow! But let’s just say – I can’t wait to wear my stunning white tutu and showcase my talent!
The Alluring After-PartyTonight, the energy in London is simply buzzing, and after the show, I'm indulging in a fabulous after-party filled with delicious champagne and even more glamorous company. The most enchanting thing about London? It seems like every night is a ballet, and every party is a performance. The city's pulsating heartbeat keeps you going long after the final curtain falls, and it's a feeling that I’ve simply got to experience!
A Farewell from London's Pink PrincessSo there you have it, my darlings. A whirlwind of pink, tulle and excitement. I had such an absolutely magical Friday in London! And of course, my next pink tutu adventure will be shared with you all next week! Until then, remember, never be afraid to embrace your inner ballerina, and don’t forget to sprinkle some pink into every corner of your life!
