Pink Tutu Blog London: Post 490 ā A Whirlwind Friday in the Capital!
Hello, darlings! Itās Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast, ready to share another adventure from the fabulous city of London.
This weekās post is a little bit special. Not only is it a Friday (because who doesnāt love Fridays?), but itās also a day of exploring London after a whirlwind train journey from Derbyshire. As a reminder, you can find me and all my London shenanigans at www.pink-tutu.com, where I update you on all things fabulous every Friday. And yes, this week, the fabulousness starts with a pink tutu.
A Train Trip to Remember
I love travelling by train, it's the perfect chance to slip into my pinkest tutu (which, naturally, was a must-have for this adventure), get comfortable with a good book and a cuppa (because a true Brit never leaves home without it!), and soak up the scenery. I must admit, even though I love travelling to London by train, the views in Derbyshire are truly magnificent. The rolling hills, the cute cottages, and those fields of green - sigh... there's a certain charm in the English countryside that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Speaking of feeling all warm and fuzzy, it wouldnāt be a Pink Tutu blog without mentioning a bit about ballet. You see, these trips are my reward for the hard work I put in as a dancer. From performing at various charity events and weddings to being a guest artist for small theatre companies, every tutu-twirling performance funds another little getaway, and I must admit, there's no greater satisfaction than putting the profits towards a day of pure London loveliness!
Arriving in London: Time for Some Sparkle!
The stationās bustling, as always, with everyone rushing off in different directions. London, oh London, you truly never cease to amaze! But today, Iām not getting caught up in the whirlwind. Instead, I'm letting myself be swept away by the sheer charm of this fantastic city. It's the perfect backdrop for my tutu, don't you think?
And I just couldnāt resist adding a touch of sparkle. After all, you know me ā Iām always up for a touch of pink and a bit of glitz! So, I popped into this charming little boutique called "Alice's Wonderland." They had the most fabulous range of pink sequined dresses and feather boas - it was like stepping into a whimsical world! I, of course, left with a few treasures, just to add a little extra zing to my outfit!
First Stop: Theatreland ā All the World's a Stage!
Itās not a real day in London without a bit of theatre magic! My Friday started off with the most incredible ballet show at the beautiful Royal Opera House. I love everything about ballet - the grace, the beauty, the intricate story-telling... It's pure escapism! And with a performance by the Royal Ballet, you know it's going to be absolutely breathtaking! I'm pretty sure my tutu almost floated off with me because I was completely mesmerized.
Shopping Therapy - Fashion Fun
After the show, I felt a little peckish and, more importantly, I needed more shopping therapy. This week Iām making it all about girly shopping, because you simply cannot be in London without getting your dose of the latest fashion! My first stop was Oxford Street - my haven for all things trendy, chic, and oh-so-London.
And guess what, dear readers? I found the perfect outfit for my Saturday night plans. You see, there's this amazing party for charity, organised by a fellow ballet enthusiast (and I'm not afraid to admit she's the envy of every other ballerina on the circuit)! She told me it's a costume party. A costume party! Naturally, Iām already thinking of a dazzling pink tutu creation. Can you imagine, dancing under the disco ball in a tutu that literally glitters with every move?! It's going to be amazing!
But enough about my weekend. We're here to enjoy the fabulous Friday of London.
Piccadilly Circus - A Colourful Interlude
Next stop, Piccadilly Circus! Thereās just something special about this place, and I canāt really explain it - but it's simply an energy vortex. This Friday, theyāve got the most amazing neon displays going on. You know how much I love pink and bright colors! The iconic red double-decker buses against that bright neon? Oh, the photo opportunities! The vibrant atmosphere and the hustle and bustle just make me feel so alive.
Ending the Day in Style: Covent Garden ā A Romantic Escape
Thereās nothing more magical than walking through Covent Garden on a Friday evening. The market is alive with colour, the sound of music fills the air, and there are so many interesting little shops and stalls to explore. Itās the perfect place to escape the busy streets for a bit of peace and quiet ā especially with a delicious, fragrant ice cream in hand!
It was the perfect ending to a London day, and I just know it will be a memory that I'll cherish for weeks to come. As I sat down to enjoy a cup of tea in a cute little cafĆ© on my way back to the train station, I couldnāt help but feel a sense of pure happiness. London has that effect on you.
So, my darling readers, there you have it ā another whirlwind of a Friday in London! Stay tuned for more updates and adventures next Friday! And please, donāt forget to tell your friends about Pink Tutu Blog London. I would love to share my passion for ballet and all things beautiful with more people. You know what they say - āIf youāve got it, flaunt itā - and Iāve got tutus and a whole lot of London adventures to flaunt!
Stay fabulous, and keep on twirling,
Emma

P.S. For those of you who are interested in seeing what was happening on this date, 20th January 2006, let me share with you a few fun facts that I came across:
- The hottest film of the week? Narnia, with Liam Neeson! You can imagine how many young people were dressed up as Aslan!
- Itās just over a week until The Pink Panther is released, and what a stellar cast that has!
- There are actually five West End plays I could be seeing tonight! If only I had time to enjoy them all.
And finally - in the charts this week are none other than the Kaiser Chiefs - if you like your rock a bit catchy and anthemic, then Ruby might just be for you!
So, there you have it - what I would have been seeing in London if my pink tutu wasnāt spinning the world round!
