Pink Tutu Blog London: #515 - A London Whirlwind!

Friday 14th July 2006

Hello lovelies! πŸ©°πŸ’– I'm back in London, the big smoke! This time, I travelled by train from Derbyshire – oh, the joy of those comfy seats and the scenery whizzing past, my trusty pink tutu twirling along with me! πŸ˜‰

This week, my ballet gigs have been extra fruitful, which means I've got a whole wad of cash to splash on the capital! Ooh, the possibilities are endless... A new pair of shoes? A fluffy tutu in the latest shade of pink? A trip to the theatre? The decisions are making my head spin, but in a good way!

I landed at Kings Cross station just before midday. It always feels so magical stepping out of the train and seeing the grand clock ticking away, like time is standing still for a moment. Then, the delicious aroma of fish and chips wafting through the air – proper London feels, I tell you! 🍟

Speaking of yummy food, my first stop was a quaint little cafe with lace curtains and wicker baskets overflowing with scones. It’s a total dream, like a step out of a Jane Austen novel. A spot of afternoon tea is essential in any London outing, don’t you think? β˜• 🍰

The afternoon was a whirl of colour and movement. My love for London, my love for ballet... they just collide into one beautiful, exhilarating mix. I headed to the Royal Opera House to catch a performance of Giselle – the story is so heartbreaking, the dancing breathtaking. You really feel the emotions through each graceful step. The tutus on the ballerinas? Pure, ethereal beauty! πŸ’•

As the sun started to set, I found myself drawn to Covent Garden. The charming cobbled streets were abuzz with activity. I bought myself a beautiful silk scarf, the vibrant colours perfectly complementing my pink tutu, and I treated myself to an enormous bowl of creamy gelato. Life doesn't get much better! 🍨

A street performer caught my eye - a young woman dancing to the sounds of a street musician. She was a sight to behold, spinning and leaping in the warm evening air, her bright pink tutu shimmering. It was like something out of a film, and for a moment, it felt like the whole world stopped just to watch. ✨

Of course, no trip to London would be complete without a little bit of retail therapy! I hit the shops with renewed vigour, and it seems my purse will be crying a little at the end of it all. I picked up a divine pair of pastel pink pumps that I just can’t wait to pair with a fluffy pink tutu – maybe next week, I’ll write about that look! πŸ˜‰ πŸ‘

Today has been a whirlwind, filled with beauty, grace, and delicious delights. I'm going to catch the last train back to Derbyshire feeling refreshed, invigorated, and more in love with London than ever before. πŸ’•

What do you have planned for this weekend, lovelies? And please do tell me: are you all rocking the pink tutu like you’re meant to be? Let me know! πŸ˜‰

Until next Friday!

Love, Emma πŸ’–πŸ©° www.pink-tutu.com
