Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures - Post 531 - Friday, November 3rd 2006

Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, back from another magical trip, this time to London, the city of dreams! And oh, the dreams I've had! I swear, London just knows how to pull at my pink tutu strings.

This week's journey took me on the wonderful, romantic train journey from Derbyshire to the capital. There's nothing quite like a train journey. Snuggling into a plush seat, the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels, the chance to peek out of the window and see the English countryside roll by. It feels like you're travelling back in time, right out of a Jane Austen novel!

London calling - A Friday adventure in Pink!

London, you have my heart! The minute I arrived, I was ready to embrace all this vibrant city had to offer. Of course, my outfit was pure pink-tutu fabulousness! A shimmering hot pink tutu, a chic cream sweater, and my favourite ballet flats โ€“ it's a classic combination that never fails. It made me feel like a fairytale princess ready to explore this city.

First stop โ€“ a trip to Covent Garden, a place that just oozes magic and artistic flair! It's an absolute wonderland for a pink tutu wearer. It was buzzing with the aroma of street food and the sounds of music and laughter. There's always something happening โ€“ musicians, artists, street performers - it's such an amazing melting pot of creativity!

This time, I saw an absolutely breathtaking ballet performance by the Royal Opera House. I was lucky to be there on the right day as it was their premiere of โ€˜The Nutcrackerโ€™. You'd think I would get sick of the Nutcracker after a while, what with seeing it so often for work, but you know, it's like wearing a tutu โ€“ I can never get enough of it. Seeing it in all its glory here just reminded me that this classic, is a timeless beauty!

The set design and costumes were simply divine. The stage lights created an enchanting, dreamy atmosphere. My heart felt so full seeing the talented ballerinas in their beautiful costumes. I swear, they practically danced on air. If I ever have children I will teach them to dance โ€“ the joy is infectious, don't you think? I could barely contain myself during the pas de deux. It's these magical moments that make me want to wear my tutu every day.

Retail therapy for the Soul!

A London trip is never complete without a bit of retail therapy. I went to all my favourite shops on Oxford Street, my ultimate girly hangout. They're just full of amazing shops โ€“ shoes, bags, makeup, clothing, anything and everything you can imagine! My pink tutu just naturally attracted all the attention and gave me a good dose of confidence. I was in my element. I snagged a fabulous hot pink sparkly clutch to add to my collection! You never can have too many clutches, can you? They're like my tiny portable dance studios, always filled with glitter and good vibes!

Taking it to the stage โ€“ Theatreland Glamour!

Of course, no trip to London would be complete without seeing a show in the West End! I booked tickets to "Mamma Mia!" as it was one of my favourite musical films when I was younger. I love seeing shows - the lights, the sets, the costumes, the performance โ€“ just magic. Plus, I'm such a big fan of Abba and they never get old!

It was amazing seeing it live, it was much bigger and better than I could have imagined. There's something about watching live performers on stage, the raw emotion and the connection with the audience.

London's little treats!

To round off the evening, I decided to do something a bit different, an adventure if you will. I boarded the iconic London Eye, a gigantic Ferris wheel offering panoramic views of London! The cityscape at night looked so stunning, all lit up like a Christmas tree. London truly is the city of dreams!

Then to top off a glorious day, a lovely little afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones, and lashings of tea!

The whole day just seemed to be like something from a story book. London always feels like the backdrop for a fairytale. My little pink tutu danced alongside my heart all through my trip!

Stay fabulous, stay pink!

As I sit here back in Derbyshire, writing this blog post, my mind is still buzzing with all the fun, excitement, and fabulousness of my day in London. I hope this week's Pink Tutu Blog inspired you to take the plunge and explore this fantastic city, maybe even wear your own tutu whilst doing so. What will your adventures be this weekend? Remember, don't be afraid to wear your pink tutu, embrace the magic, and share it with the world!

Love, Emma
