#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Friday 2006-11-24: A Pink Tutu Princess Explores London!

Hello my darling tutu twirlers! Welcome to another instalment of #PinkTutuBlogLondon! It's your favourite ballerina blogger, Emma, back with another adventure in the big smoke, this time in a glorious, sunshine-drenched London that was bursting with excitement for a rather exciting weekend ahead! We're up to post number 534 now - I can't believe how fast this year has flown by!

For those of you new to #PinkTutuBlogLondon, I'm a twenty-something dreamer from the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. My passion is for dancing - from classic ballet to vibrant street performance and even some delightful, toe-tapping theatre! And oh, my love for tutus? It's undeniable! You'll often find me pirouetting through life in a pink tutu, inspiring others to embrace the power of a good twirl!

Today was my big day - London calling, Emma answering! It was a crisp Autumn morning, and I packed my trusty, travel-sized pink tutu in my luggage before hopping aboard the train, my pink glitter compact ready to combat the early-morning dullness of the journey. The train is my sanctuary! Every journey is an opportunity for a spot of ballet practice in the quiet carriage - and you know how much I love a good travelling ballerina photo opportunity. My fellow passengers, no doubt, must have found my gracefully leaping over luggage and practicing some barre exercises hilarious! It’s all part of spreading the pink tutu joy, darling!

The journey was a whizz. The English countryside flashed by in a blur of vibrant foliage and charming villages - it’s so beautiful this time of year, you can feel a magic in the air. As the train pulled into King’s Cross Station, I could barely contain my excitement! London, I’m coming!

My first stop in the metropolis had to be Harrods of course. I adore browsing the luxury fashion houses and it really got my pink tutu heart beating! The beautiful window displays were enough to inspire any aspiring ballerina, all shimmering in sparkling gowns and jewels, just perfect for a royal ball. After my fashion-filled morning, I needed to find some inspiration. My afternoon was a ballet classic, seeing The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House! The dancers were breathtaking, and I sat mesmerized, swept away to a magical winter wonderland. The costumes were phenomenal – I mean, how much can you really love pink until you’ve seen a perfectly-crafted sugarplum fairy tutuing across the stage?! There's something quite magical about seeing dancers bring classical stories to life – makes you want to leap to your own ballet shoes!

After all that creative inspiration, the evening called for something fun, sparkly and of course pink! My best friend Anna, another true tutu-lover, was in London for the weekend, so we decided to paint the town pink with a little show of our own. I had recently fallen in love with a pink glittered dress from an online shop I found (just search 'Emma's Pink Fashion Favourites' on pink-tutu.com to find out more about this must-have item!), and decided it would make the perfect addition to a fun night out with Anna. We met up in the city, ready to rock our fabulous pink outfits.

Anna's look was incredible! She was in her classic bright pink ballet dress, paired with sequin leggings and pink glitter platform shoes. She looked so chic! The glitter really did make her sparkle and stand out from the crowd! And then there was me in my glorious pink dress. Every time I wore it, I felt a sense of confidence that was pure magic. I twirled in my dress and my tutu (never afraid to double up on my love of pink tutus, darling!). Anna grabbed her phone and snapped some fabulous photos as we strolled through the city, stopping at various places for some photo opportunities.

The crowd's faces said it all; we definitely drew some glances - people were loving our vibrant outfits. It felt amazing! There's something about a pink tutu that makes everyone feel good, makes you want to laugh, smile and twirl a little!

Our night finished in Covent Garden with some amazing street dancing! We were absolutely mesmerized by the street performers, a combination of breakdancing, hip hop, ballet, and some contemporary styles with just a touch of burlesque thrown in - the perfect blend of elegance, passion and street spirit. It was incredible! It felt like a fabulous pink tutu explosion!

As we caught our train back to Derbyshire with a bag of sweets to share, I realized what makes London truly magical. It's the way the city comes alive with so many vibrant personalities, colours, stories, and dreams - all vying for your attention! The weekend was amazing and the city really was the ultimate place to twirl and explore! I can't wait to see what's waiting for #PinkTutuBlogLondon next weekend! Until then, stay sparkly, and don't forget to rock those pink tutus, darlings! Don’t forget to join me on www.pink-tutu.com next Friday for more of #PinkTutuBlogLondon! Have a fabulous week and keep twirling! xx
