Pink Tutu Blog London - #556 - Friday 2007-04-27: London Calling! 🩰🌸
Hello my darlings!
It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu wearing ballerina blogger, back with another exciting entry from the London blog! This week, I'm whisking you off on a delightful day trip to the Big Smoke, fuelled by a whole lot of ballet, fashion and, of course, my beloved pink tutu!
You know how much I love travelling by train – the gentle rumble, the rhythmic clicking of the wheels, and the fleeting glimpse of green fields and charming countryside rushing past the window – it's just the most perfect way to escape to a new adventure. And this Friday, my destination is London!
I'm heading down from my little haven in Derbyshire to indulge in a bit of city life. It's all thanks to a delightful evening performance of "Giselle" at the Royal Opera House. Yes, you read that right – yours truly, the pink tutu blogger, getting my fix of some classical ballet! I've got the perfect outfit planned – my trusty pale pink tutu, of course, with a little black bolero jacket and some delicate ballet flats to keep the look sleek. And as for makeup – why, a touch of blush and my trusty pink lipstick, naturally!
London Bound - 🚄The train journey is a delight, and I've even managed to nab a window seat. I'm so excited! My nose is stuck to the window, admiring the English countryside whizzing by. This trip feels different. It feels... London-worthy! London deserves something a bit extra special.
So, what am I planning to do with my time in London? Well, apart from seeing the glorious "Giselle", I'm planning on doing what I do best – soaking up all that London has to offer in my own pink tutu-wearing way, of course. I’m thinking a trip to the ballet shop on Tottenham Court Road to browse for a few new treasures – can you ever have too many tutus? Of course not! It’s simply impossible!
Pink Tutu and Shopping 👛Oh, and there's something I simply have to share. It’s about that magic, wondrous place that is Liberty. Liberty is on the list for today – I absolutely have to check out their fabulous collection of pink-themed clothing. Who knows what hidden gems I’ll find there. Maybe even a special little pink tutu of my own!
You know me – shopping for fashion is almost as much fun as dancing in my tutu, so, a little retail therapy is essential for my London adventures! But it's not just about buying things; I love observing Londoners’ style, taking inspiration from their bold fashion choices.
After a morning of exploring the stores, and perhaps getting lost in the enchanting streets of Notting Hill – just for the atmosphere, of course! – it’s time to head back to Covent Garden for my evening ballet fix. "Giselle" is one of my favourite ballet classics. There’s nothing quite like witnessing the beauty and emotion of the story unfold on stage!
London After Dark - 🌙And if the day hasn’t worn me out yet, who knows, maybe a visit to a West End show is in order! My friend Charlotte has told me that there are a few exciting new productions happening right now that might just tempt me into a seat on another London theatre evening!
However, even the most glamorous nights out need a bit of grounding – especially if I’m heading straight to another ballet class the next day – so I think a classic London cafe will be in order. They just seem so charming and relaxing, especially those with mismatched furniture and mismatched china cups for tea.
As the London sky grows dark and the twinkling lights of the city start to come alive, I feel a wave of inspiration wash over me. I simply adore being in London! It feels magical. This is where fashion comes alive, where art, history, and performance intertwine and spark a fire within you, leaving you filled with creativity and wanting to dance your way through life, and the city, with your pink tutu, of course!
Fashion in LondonSpeaking of fashion, this week's focus on style is... Statement Accessories! London is all about expressing yourself through your personal fashion style and there is no better way to achieve that than by statement accessories. I adore a good, unique, bold statement accessory – it's like an exclamation mark in your look, an element that turns a simple outfit into something truly exciting! And in London, they really know how to make an impression.
Top Statement Accessories To Look Out For This Season
Brightly coloured scarves: The bold colours are vibrant and playful and instantly elevate any outfit.
Eye-catching bags: Whether you’re into designer handbags, statement clutches or quirky vintage finds, you'll find Londoners make every effort to have their bags reflect their personality!
Daring jewellery: Statement earrings, necklaces and bracelets are perfect for showcasing individuality! And when you add that unique, touch of personality, a new dimension of individuality shines.
Unique hats: This can include bold colours, daring shapes, quirky materials or fun details – London loves a hat!
For me, though, the absolute highlight of the weekend is attending my weekly ballet class at the Pineapple Dance Studios in London. I love the energy and vibrancy of this legendary dance studio, a true London institution! Here I am amongst a wonderful bunch of dancers – men, women, children – from all walks of life, sharing a passion for ballet, dressed in our beautiful, graceful tutu-infused outfits. The laughter, the sweat, the shared joy of expressing yourself through movement and dance – it’s what it’s all about! And did I mention the gorgeous pink tutus and beautiful outfits I've seen here? They’re just divine!
But don’t just take my word for it! Pineapple is a true fashion haven. It’s brimming with colour, individuality, and stylishness. London truly has it all.
So, after my little whirlwind of ballet, fashion, and food in London, I’m off back to my peaceful home in Derbyshire, a bit more energised, and full of ideas for my own dancing, and, naturally, pink tutus, to brighten up the days. I hope you enjoyed joining me on this journey! And remember my dear pink tutu-loving friends, stay tuned, because next week I’m tackling another adventure... until next Friday, have a fantastic week and embrace your own inner ballerina!
