Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #612 - Friday 2008-05-23 - A Tutu-licious Day in London!
Hey lovely readers! It's Emma, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast, back from another whirlwind trip to the Big Smoke! As you know, I'm a firm believer in spreading the love of the pink tutu, one performance and travelogue at a time. And what better place to do just that than the vibrant, endlessly inspiring capital city? This Friday, I packed my trusty tutu bag, filled with my favourite pink creations, and set off from Derbyshire on a joyful journey of fashion, ballet, and London delights!
A Pink-tastic Train Journey
Let me tell you, nothing beats the excitement of a train journey to London. I always feel like I’m stepping into a storybook, watching the countryside flit by as I snuggle into my seat. This week, I donned my "Pink Paradise" tutu, with its layers of delicate pink tulle and silver ribbon embellishments, a perfect ensemble for a journey filled with anticipation. I always find it fun to look around and spot fellow travelers who might appreciate the delicate whimsy of a pink tutu! It's amazing how much joy it brings to others, and maybe just maybe, inspires them to embrace a little bit of pink in their lives.
London Calling: The Heart of Fashion & Dance
As the train rolled into King's Cross Station, a wave of London’s iconic energy hit me! I simply love this city, and I always find it buzzing with inspiration for a fashion-loving ballerina like me! My mission for today? To immerse myself in London's rich artistic culture and capture the spirit of London fashion in my #PinkTutuBlogLondon snaps.
Shopping Spree in Selfridges:
After a swift cab ride to Oxford Street, my heart fluttered with excitement at the sight of the iconic Selfridges building! It's a dream come true for any shopaholic. My eyes darted from shimmering silk dresses to quirky statement accessories – it was all simply too tempting! Today, I felt drawn to an exquisite vintage hat with a pink ribbon, the perfect complement to any pink tutu ensemble. I found the hat on the ground floor in the Accessories department – and oh, my goodness, it was everything I had been hoping for! It was a true bargain at a mere £35, a price I considered a real steal considering the intricate design and craftsmanship.
A Pink Tea Party at Fortnum & Mason:
After indulging my love of fashion at Selfridges, my stomach started grumbling for a spot of tea. So naturally, my next stop was Fortnum & Mason. This majestic food hall and department store is a testament to the refined elegance of British history and a London must-see for any visitor! Fortnum’s tea room is the epitome of pink-tutu-worthy splendour. My favourite is their "Pink Rose" blend, a delightful mixture of delicate rose petals and fresh, vibrant flavour! Of course, I had to have a classic English scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam for a truly quintessential London experience!
The Royal Ballet's Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House:
For my evening, there was only one destination: The Royal Opera House. Nothing beats seeing a performance of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake in such a majestic setting. It truly takes my breath away! For the occasion, I slipped on my most glamorous pink tutu – the "Parisian Ballerina" with its delicate tulle layers and a sparkling rhinestone embellishment! The atmosphere was electric. And watching the talented ballerinas and dancers swirl across the stage was nothing short of breathtaking! The Royal Ballet is one of the most prestigious ballet companies in the world, and it was truly an honour to be there in the audience!
Sharing My Love of London and Pink Tutus!
As I write this blog post from my cosy hotel room, I am overflowing with joy from a day well-spent exploring London's vibrant tapestry of culture and fashion! Remember, readers, don’t be afraid to embrace your inner pink tutu and share your passion with the world. My aim is to inspire others to have a little more fun and a little more pink in their lives!
