Pink Tutu Blog London #670: A Whirlwind Friday in the Capital! 🩰🌸
Hello lovelies! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London post! I'm back in the city after a lovely trip to Derbyshire to visit family, and I can't wait to share all my London adventures with you.
Train Travel Bliss:
The train journey was as always, a delightful experience. It was a perfect excuse to slip into my favourite pink tulle skirt and polka dot top, complete with my signature sparkly ballerina flats, of course! I love watching the countryside zip past – there’s something so relaxing about watching the world go by from the train window.
This week's journey involved a spot of reading (I'm finally getting through that historical fiction novel I've been meaning to tackle), catching up with friends on the phone, and of course, daydreaming about all the pink tutu fun awaiting me in London.
London Calling:
The moment I stepped off the train, London embraced me with open arms. The familiar buzz of the city, the bustling crowds, the endless possibilities – it always feels magical. Today was all about exploring.
A Spot of Retail Therapy:
I started with a pilgrimage to Liberty London, a haven of luxurious fabrics, designer delights, and vintage finds. I lost myself in the enchanting colours and textures, daydreaming about potential ballet costumes for my next performance. Even if I don't buy anything, the inspiration alone is worth the trip. I emerged with a stunning new pink silk scarf (gotta represent!) and a newfound sense of creative energy.
Piccadilly Circus Power:
After Liberty, it was off to Piccadilly Circus. The sheer energy of the square, a mix of dazzling lights, street performers, and endless throngs of people, always takes my breath away. It’s like a melting pot of cultures and colours – the epitome of London's vibrant spirit. I watched a street magician perform his tricks with genuine amusement – his moves reminded me a bit of ballet, actually!
Dinner with a View:
Dinner was a delightful affair at the Shard, a London icon with stunning panoramic views. The sky was ablaze with sunset colours, casting a warm glow over the cityscape. My pink tutu really popped against the cityscape!
Cultural Delights:
London, of course, wouldn't be complete without a dose of culture. This Friday, it was all about the performing arts! I headed to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane to catch a breathtaking production of 'The Phantom of the Opera' – the costumes, the music, the sheer theatricality… it was a truly captivating evening. I could practically hear my own tutus swishing in the aisles during the grand finale!
Ballet Magic:
No trip to London is complete without a ballet performance, right? I'm lucky enough to have been invited to see a fantastic show at Sadler's Wells. Watching the dancers move with such grace and power is truly inspiring – they're the embodiment of strength and artistry. The sheer athleticism and beauty of ballet never fails to amaze me. And let me tell you, I had a tutu moment during the second act that had everyone around me smiling. I was just that giddy with joy.
Sharing the Tutu Love:
Throughout my London escapades, I was determined to spread a little tutu love! As I waltzed around the city, I kept an eye out for other tutu-wearers. Sadly, no other brave souls sported a tutu in their own everyday life, so I felt a responsibility to make my pink one sing. From buskers to shop assistants, I encouraged everyone I met to embrace their inner ballerina and let their tutus shine! Some people laughed, some were hesitant, but most were simply intrigued, eager to hear about my pink tutu crusade. You know me – I always bring a spare pink tutu along in case someone wants to have a tutu moment. Maybe one day I'll have to throw a flashmob to inspire Londoners to wear tutus!
London Through Rose-Tinted Glasses:
This weekend in London has been an absolute whirlwind, a joyful mix of shopping sprees, cultural delights, and the undeniable magic of the city. London's a place where anything is possible, where creativity flourishes, and where a girl can rock her favourite pink tutu without fear of judgment. It’s a place I feel completely at home.
I’m off to bed, my tutu resting for its next adventure! Keep those tutus spinning, my dear readers, and remember to always embrace the world with a joyful heart and a playful spirit. Until next week’s Friday London blog, stay fabulous!

PS: This Friday (03 July 2009) is a date to remember for those who appreciate music! A group called Muse are releasing a new album and they're performing live across the world! The music of the band sounds absolutely incredible and is already receiving fantastic reviews from critics. I might even be tempted to dress in all pink and go see a show - although finding tickets might be tricky, there's huge anticipation!

PPPS: To all the wonderful ballet dancers out there, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you'd like to join forces for a tutus-for-good mission. I believe in spreading joy, laughter, and a healthy dose of sparkle to the world! We can make this happen, one pink tutu at a time!
