Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! - Post #780

Friday, 12th August 2011

Hello, darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the heart of London! It's a gloriously sunny Friday morning and, as always, I'm bursting with excitement. Today's the day - my London adventures begin! This week's escapade took me on a journey by train from my little corner of Derbyshire to the heart of this vibrant metropolis. I do love a good train journey, especially with a freshly pressed pink tutu in my luggage - something about the rhythm of the tracks gets those creative juices flowing!

For those who haven't been following my blog for long, I'm Emma, a tutu-loving, pink-obsessed ballerina, with a passion for all things fabulous and fashionable. My mission? To inspire you to unleash your inner sparkle and add a touch of pink tutu magic to your lives! It's all about celebrating joy, embracing your unique style, and letting the world know that sometimes, a bit of whimsical sparkle is all you need. And if you ever feel lost in a sea of monochrome, just remember ā€“ itā€™s perfectly acceptable to embrace your inner pink tutu girl, wherever you may be.

Now, back to London. I've been longing to visit the British Museum. Just imagine! The Rosetta Stone, Egyptian mummies, ancient Roman mosaics - all nestled in a building brimming with history. I can almost feel the thrill of exploration bubbling inside me, just thinking about it.

Todayā€™s outfit is all about comfort and style. Iā€™m rocking a beautifully soft, peachy pink ballet top, teamed with a flowing maxi skirt and, of course, a fabulously ruffled tutu in a delicate shade of pink, with a tiny little pink ballet bag on my shoulder. My trusty pink trainers will take me wherever I need to go, because London is a city made for exploring!

The Covent Garden Delights

First stop, Covent Garden. Oh, how I adore this bustling hub of London life! With its charming cobblestone streets, street performers, quirky boutiques, and tantalising aroma of delicious street food, it's a sensory explosion in the best way possible. It's the perfect place to spot some of Londonā€™s most vibrant street performers, especially with its beautiful open space. Today Iā€™ve caught a couple of amazing buskers - a talented magician and a soulful violinist - adding a bit of magic to my London day. A couple of street photographers have been shooting my tutu look for a local fashion blog. Of course, I couldnā€™t refuse to have my photo taken in my fabulous outfit, the photographers loved it and seemed especially charmed by my fluffy, pink tutu.

The Covent Garden Market - A feast for the senses!

Covent Garden Market is truly a haven for the senses. Fresh, bright, vibrant, and bursting with colours. Itā€™s a veritable rainbow of culinary delights - succulent oysters glistening on ice, plump ripe strawberries blushing with colour, artisan cheeses tempting you with their intoxicating aroma. I could spend hours just wandering through the market, savouring the aromas, soaking in the energy of the bustling crowds and dreaming up culinary adventures for my next cooking session. Of course, I have to stop for a taste test or two - especially of that freshly squeezed orange juice. Iā€™m just a little obsessed with vitamin C and all things bright and delicious!

Stepping Back in Time at the British Museum

Next, I'm taking a plunge into the rich history and treasures of the British Museum. Oh, the stories that these ancient objects could tell! The sheer scale of the museum is overwhelming, and I find myself wandering from one captivating display to the next, trying to soak in as much history as possible.

Iā€™m absolutely mesmerised by the Egyptian mummies and the fascinating stories they tell. It's fascinating to think of the lives they lived so many centuries ago, and it makes me wonder about the mysteries that still lie hidden within the sands of time.

Dinner with a view - Sky Garden!

As evening falls, I'm off to enjoy dinner at one of my favourite spots, the Sky Garden! Situated on the 42nd floor of the Walkie Talkie building, the Sky Garden offers stunning panoramic views of London, including the iconic London Eye and Tower Bridge. What a magnificent way to enjoy a delicious meal! Tonight, itā€™s a fabulous pan-Asian inspired menu with an ā€œindulge your pink dreamsā€ theme. You have to admit, my love of all things pink just makes every dining experience so much more delightful!

Iā€™m absolutely charmed by the sunset views and enjoying a pink and ruby infused cocktail, which is simply divine! This place really knows how to capture the magic of Londonā€™s dazzling skyline! A glass of bubbles after dinner while admiring the view - how could my London Friday be any better? Itā€™s definitely worth a visit if youā€™re looking for that unique view and special dining experience.

Tomorrowā€™s Grand Plans

Tomorrow, my little London adventure continues! The Royal Opera House! Thereā€™s just nothing more exquisite than the beauty of ballet, and this venue never disappoints! Iā€™ve got my tickets for ā€˜Giselleā€™ - such a dramatic and inspiring ballet, and the choreography is divine. Can't wait to be mesmerized by the grace and elegance of the dancers as they tell this tale of love, heartbreak, and the magic of the supernatural.

My Pink Tutu Tip for Today - London in Colour

Let's make this world a brighter, more whimsical place. Every time you wear pink, remember - it's a celebration of all things vibrant, fun and joyful. Wear pink. Wear a tutu. Let your inner sparkle shine through!

*Love and Tutu hugs, *
