Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #933

Friday, 18th July 2014

Hello lovelies! It's your favourite tutu-wearing travel enthusiast, Emma, and guess what? I'm in London!

From Derbyshire to the Capital!

Yes, the train journey was simply divine. Nothing quite beats the gentle rumble of the carriage and the chance to watch the countryside slip by. It's the perfect time for a good book, a spot of people-watching, and of course, admiring my own oh-so-pink ensemble. I opted for a pale pink tulle tutu, a cream blouse with delicate lace, and a pastel pink blazer - the epitome of chic travel fashion! The passengers on the train all gave me such appreciative glances, I was almost worried they'd break their necks! My aim in life, after all, is to inspire everyone to embrace their inner ballerina and wear a pink tutu!

London, We're Here!

Stepping off the train at Kings Cross was like entering a magical world! The bustle of the station, the familiar smell of London's air, the glimpses of iconic red buses... London always feels like a glamorous movie set, even if I do get a bit giddy when a Tube train rumbles past me.

Friday Feels!

First things first - we had to find a proper London pub for lunch! A traditional pub with a lovely cosy atmosphere - exactly what you need when you're feeling a bit peckish after a train journey. Then it was time to take in some of the sights. I'd love to say it was an organised affair but honestly, who has time for planning when there are so many fabulous sights and shops just waiting to be explored? First on our list, naturally, was a spot of retail therapy.

A Pink Fashion Spree!

Oxford Street was just buzzing! And what a delight it was to see so many colours, so many different styles! A real treat for my eyes, let me tell you. I adore a good London shop and spent way too long just window shopping, admiring the latest trends and wishing I had twice the wardrobe space to store it all! You know, my personal rule is never to pass up a good tutu-related find, so naturally, I just had to pick up a cute little ballerina charm for my bag - perfect for adding a little extra pink to my already fabulous look!

Tutu Twirls in Covent Garden

Covent Garden was our next stop. It was packed, which I always find so thrilling! The street performers, the artisan shops, the delicious smells... it was a feast for all the senses! After a quick peek at some colourful hats in one of the many shops there (tutus just love hats!), I saw it! The iconic Royal Opera House! It was just magical - even standing in the shadow of this architectural gem was breathtaking!

Dancing Shoes for Dancing Dreams!

Of course, it wasn't just the building itself I was drawn to - the thought of world-renowned ballet dancers performing on that stage fills me with such joy and awe! It's the kind of magic you just can't help but dream about! Now, while I can't quite justify paying the high ticket prices at the moment, that doesn't stop me from admiring the artistry and elegance from afar! You never know what little gem of a ballet show you'll find just wandering around London - especially when you've got a keen eye out for those sparkly shoes!

Taking a Tutu-ing on the Underground

Then, the next thing you know, we're whizzing through the underground! The London Underground is just a unique experience! It's almost like taking a step back in time, but it's all so clean and efficient! We're going to Buckingham Palace, and I’ve packed my best pair of flat pumps! After all, walking on cobblestones in your pink tutu would just be asking for trouble!

Queen Victoria’s Home

We wandered through the green fields surrounding the Palace and even glimpsed the Queen in a carriage - she was absolutely glowing! And for someone with a style as fabulous as mine, you’d think I would have had something pink and tulle ready for the occasion, wouldn’t you? But, you know, you can’t possibly expect someone like myself to change a carefully constructed ensemble on the go. After all, this is London, not a rehearsal! I do hope Her Majesty has seen my London blog posts. Maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to persuade her to wear a pink tutu for her next State visit?

London by Night: The River Lights Up

Evening was beckoning with all its twinkling allure. So naturally, we had to grab a cuppa, head down to the Thames and enjoy the sparkling beauty of London at night. The light reflections danced on the water as brightly as any ballet show, a breathtaking reminder that even the most bustling of cities can be magical under a canopy of stars.

Dreaming in Pink Tulle!

We had to wrap things up, unfortunately. I never tire of London’s beauty and energy, it's always a delight to be surrounded by such beauty and vibrancy. Tomorrow, it's back on the train to Derbyshire. My dear readers, it may be goodbye to the dazzling capital for now, but it’s not goodbye to Pink Tutu Blog! Tune in next week for another dose of fashion, ballet, and a whole lot of fun!

Until next time, may your tutus twirl, your dreams take flight, and your days be filled with pink!

With a pirouette and a kiss,

Emma xx
