#PinkTutuBlogLondon: A Pink Tutu Christmas in London! (Post #956)

Well hello darlings! It’s Friday, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuBlogLondon post! This week, I’m bringing you a pink-tastic tale of festive cheer and a dash of London magic from my trip last week, all in my signature pink tutu of course!

From Derbyshire to London: A Tutu-tastic Train Journey

My week started in my home county of Derbyshire, where I was absolutely buzzing for my London adventure! After a few performances in the local village hall, I had enough to fund my journey, a new pink dress for my Christmas Day outing, and a couple of lovely treats for my favourite #PinkTutuSquad.

This week's train journey to London was particularly lovely. The festive season truly makes everything seem a little bit more magical. As soon as I stepped onto the train, I was transported to a world of twinkly lights and festive cheer. It was so easy to get swept up in the Christmas spirit with everyone in their comfy scarves and hats, clutching their mince pies and hot chocolate, enjoying the journey. I was sitting next to the loveliest lady who, when she saw my tutu, gave me a smile so big, it lit up the entire carriage.

"Isn't it lovely to see everyone so happy," she said, with her eyes sparkling. "Christmas truly does bring everyone together!"

I couldn't agree more, especially as the entire carriage, despite being crammed with travellers, felt more like one big happy family all heading to the same destination. It made my heart feel all warm and fuzzy!

London Calling: Christmas Lights, Shopping, and Shows

Stepping off the train in London was like stepping into a winter wonderland! The festive lights were strung up everywhere, making the city twinkle. And let's not forget the aroma of cinnamon and roasted chestnuts – it was simply divine! I felt the magic of the city wash over me, I took a moment to just breathe in the wonder before I headed straight for the glorious shopping haven of Oxford Street.

Pink and Sparkle: A Shopaholic's Paradise

Christmas lights illuminated the shop windows in a dizzying display of sparkly colours. You know me, I just can’t resist a bit of pink and glitter, and Christmas is truly the time for it! I was practically swimming in a sea of sparkle and festive pink, trying to decide between a pair of adorable sparkly reindeer earrings and a dreamy pink sequined top – both so fabulous they would be perfect for a ballet performance! (The reindeer earrings won out in the end, they were just too adorable!).

After my Christmas shopping splurge, I took a detour to Covent Garden, which was beautifully adorned for Christmas with a huge Christmas tree at the centre. I twirled through the bustling markets, savouring the sweet scent of gingerbread and admiring the traditional handmade ornaments on display. It was like something out of a fairytale.

An Evening of Entertainment: The Royal Ballet's Nutcracker

And speaking of fairytales, my London adventure couldn't have been complete without experiencing the magic of the Royal Ballet's Nutcracker performance. This was truly one for the books! I settled in at the Royal Opera House, feeling so elegant in my shimmering pink tutu. The grandeur of the theatre was incredible, with its plush velvet seats and glittering chandeliers.

As the music filled the air, the dancers came to life in their beautiful costumes and flawless moves. It was such an inspiration to watch them twirl and leap with such precision and grace. My heart was full watching the story unfold before my eyes. The dancers were absolutely incredible; their talent and passion were so inspiring. The set design was like something out of a dream. Everything was perfectly crafted and detailed, transporting the audience straight into the magical world of the Nutcracker.

There were so many exciting moments! I particularly loved the Sugar Plum Fairy's dance – a ballet classic with beautiful costumes, graceful choreography and stunning use of music. Every movement was a symphony of artistry, It really brought out the ballerina in me!

Pink Tutu Adventures: The Christmas Edition

After the Nutcracker, I felt inspired! I was all sugared-up on the performance, and a few gingerbread latte's certainly helped with that. I popped over to Hyde Park, which was completely magical all lit up with Christmas lights and stalls with delicious food, handcrafted ornaments, and warm drinks. I spent the rest of the evening strolling through the park, taking it all in and savouring the festive spirit.

The Christmas Day Delight: Pink Tutu Celebrations

Christmas Day dawned bright and cheerful. After a leisurely breakfast of cinnamon rolls and strong coffee, I decided to take a stroll around London's charming streets. It was quiet and peaceful after all the excitement of Christmas Eve. There was a lovely buzz of joy and togetherness in the air as everyone seemed to be enjoying the special day with family and friends. I even caught a glimpse of a snowman parade happening on a nearby street – a beautiful sight that instantly reminded me of a winter wonderland.

Later that day, I found myself at a traditional pub in London with some lovely friends, dressed in a vibrant pink sequined dress that I had found at one of the many amazing charity shops I explored while in the city. Everyone, even the most timid amongst them, commented on how fab it was!

“Your tutu would be such a perfect outfit for the occasion, “ a few friends chuckled, making me smile!

“Maybe next year," I replied, already picturing a photo opportunity in the heart of the festive markets!

The food was incredible: roast turkey with all the trimmings, gravy, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and delicious yorkshire puddings, and delicious puddings with rich custard. We toasted with bubbly to a Merry Christmas, and all the adventures to come!

Returning to Derbyshire: A Pink Tutu Promise

On my journey home, sitting on the train, I reflected on my Christmas in London. It was truly the perfect Christmas! I made new memories, saw fabulous performances, and embraced the true festive spirit. London really is a special city, and it's hard to say which part of the trip I enjoyed the most: the enchanting lights, the amazing shows, the delectable food, or the magical festive atmosphere. Every minute of this adventure was pure bliss!

My journey back to Derbyshire felt even more special as I had the London glow of Christmas magic in my heart and a wardrobe bursting with beautiful pink and glittery items! I'm already planning my next trip and, of course, a pink-tastic ballet performance to fund it!

Stay tuned for more adventures from the world of Pink Tutu Blog, and until next Friday, don't forget to live your life with as much passion and sparkle as you can! Maybe even dare to wear a pink tutu to your next event… who knows, you might inspire someone else to embrace their inner pink goddess!

Sending you lots of love,

Emma, your pink tutu ballerina extraordinaire!
