#PinkTutuBlogLondon: Friday, July 8th, 2016 - London Calling!

Post Number 1036: London Adventure in Pink!

Hello, my darlings! It's your favourite tutu-wearing blogger, Emma, here, ready to whisk you away to the vibrant heart of London town! It's a crisp, sunny Friday morning and the scent of freshly-baked pastries wafts from the little bakery down the road - ah, the sweet smells of Derbyshire, but it's London calling for this girl! Today marks another magical adventure as I'm heading off on the train for a whirlwind day of exploring the capital and, of course, sharing my girly-glam adventures with all of you!

A Pink Tutu-licious Train Journey!

As always, my trusty travel companion, my Pink Perfection tutu (you've all seen it a million times by now, but this baby's a classic!), took pride of place in my luggage. A trip on the train wouldn't be complete without it, right? It's my lucky charm - every journey I've taken with this sassy skirt has been full of magic.

As I boarded the train, the gentle rhythmic chugging transported me into a daydream filled with swirling tutus, grand theatres, and, of course, pink lemonade! Speaking of tutus, let me tell you about my newest, sparkly find. Imagine a delicate tulle cloud of softest pink, hand-stitched with iridescent sequins. My friend, Eleanor (she's my fellow dance enthusiast!), brought it back from a trip to Paris. Oh, it's glorious! I plan on wearing it tonight to see "Sleeping Beauty" at the Royal Opera House.

London's Calling: My Ballet Adventures!

My first stop after a quick croissant and a cuppa at the station was, of course, the Royal Opera House! Even from afar, the building itself exudes elegance, radiating with the promise of enchanting stories waiting to be told. Stepping inside the foyer, I was immediately swept up in a wave of grandeur. Every corner oozed with a refined history, each gilded ornament whispered of ballerinas dancing with effortless grace, and the hushed anticipation for tonight's performance sent a thrill of excitement down my spine.

This year, I've already been to see a whole bunch of fantastic ballets – from the intricate "Swan Lake" to the heart-wrenching "Romeo and Juliet". And each show leaves me speechless. It's not just the dance that captures me; it's the atmosphere. It's like entering another world. It’s so easy to be caught up in the emotion of every gesture, the soaring leaps, the elegant poses… and let’s not forget those incredible costumes! It truly feels like a dream!

But before indulging in the "Sleeping Beauty" magic, I couldn’t resist dropping by my favourite dance store, The Ballet Boutique! Now, you can't be a ballet lover and resist a trip to this heavenly shop. It's a treasure trove of tutus, pointe shoes, and every conceivable dance accessory imaginable. And don’t get me started on the dazzling selection of dancewear, with gorgeous velvet jackets, flowing skirts, and shimmering leotards in every shade of the rainbow (with a special emphasis on pink, of course!).

Lunchtime! Deliciously Pretty!

To fuel my artistic spirit and my tutu-spinning energy levels, a scrumptious lunch break was in order! I always get peckish after my dance store spree! After all, a tutu girl needs her sustenance! I opted for a quaint, floral cafe hidden away in Covent Garden. Let’s face it, I can't resist a pink table, a frilly parasol, and dainty teacups, so of course, it was the perfect choice. And when I spotted the "Rosewater Macaroon" on the menu, my day instantly got sweeter! (Oh, my weakness!)

London: A Runway of Fashion

With my heart and stomach happy, I embarked on a fashion spree through the bustling streets. London is like a giant runway showcasing every style imaginable. This vibrant city is a true testament to creativity! Whether it's the bold designs of Knightsbridge, the vintage finds in Soho, or the quirky street style in Shoreditch, every corner holds a unique fashion gem waiting to be discovered. I found the most stunning blush pink skirt, so much it almost felt like it was calling my name. A pair of vintage heels to match and…well, that's how my shopping adventures often go.

I also visited my favourite "tutu haven": the Vintage Fashion Emporium on Berwick Street. Now, you're not likely to find traditional tutus there, but with all those delicate fabrics, retro frocks and flamboyant feathers, my inner ballerina-fashionista could have spent hours creating 'look' inspired by my latest obsession. Maybe for next year’s “Nutcracker”?!

Pink Tutu London Street Performances!

A highlight of my London trip, the part that always brings a grin to my face, are the street performers. From opera singers belting out melodies with passion to street dancers, the talent never fails to amaze me. There's something truly special about experiencing spontaneous bursts of artistry right in the middle of the city's chaos. It’s such a beautiful blend of creativity and the bustle of London life, making me want to join in the dancing, especially in my Pink Perfection tutu!

One particular performer stole the show – a ballet dancer, no less, spinning across the cobbles of Covent Garden, gracefully swirling through the crowd. I almost ran out to join him in my tutu. Now, I must confess that dancing on London’s pavement wouldn't be exactly graceful. The uneven paving stones would certainly have me twirling awkwardly, my tutu wouldn’t float as easily. But I bet it would be fun!

Dinner and a Ballet at the Opera House

After all the dancing and fashion inspiration, the magical evening at the Royal Opera House couldn’t arrive fast enough. My trusty tutu was tucked away ready for tonight's grand entrance! As we made our way to the grand foyer of the Royal Opera House, it truly felt like I was walking into a fairytale. I could imagine the stories unfolding, princesses and princes coming to life. Oh, my darlings, the excitement!

And, just to complete the perfect fairy tale ending, my dinner was equally magical. A quaint little bistro, its tables covered in white linen, served the most delectable French onion soup – with melted Gruyère cheese and crispy bread! You can almost picture the little french cafe. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a more perfectly-constructed soup – not to mention perfectly matched to the ‘sleeping Beauty’ theme. After dinner, I slipped on my shimmering tutu, feeling ready to step into the world of enchantment.

The entire theatre buzzed with anticipation. With a flutter in my chest and a glint of excitement in my eye, the curtain rose. And I was instantly swept away! "Sleeping Beauty", in all its elegant splendor, was the perfect end to a fantastic London day! The graceful dancers moved with incredible elegance. The sets were breathtaking, each shimmering scene an artwork. Every character was alive. And the ending, my darlings, brought tears to my eyes - it's the story of pure love, of dreams, of believing in magic, which I, of course, already do!

And, well, the evening simply wouldn’t be complete without my grand exit in my fabulous pink tutu. Now, you won't catch me dancing in front of thousands in a theatre, not with a "real" ballet dancer around! However, my sparkly pink number, I promise, will be spotted in every corner of the Royal Opera House by the end of the evening! After all, this tutu isn’t just an outfit. It’s a celebration of dreams, a symbol of finding magic in every moment.

Back to Derbyshire: A Dream Filled Train Journey!

I love the bustle of London, but there’s no place like home. A few hours later, with a tutu bag in one hand, and a new sparkly skirt tucked into the other, I settled down in my favourite train carriage seat. It's a familiar feeling as the countryside unfolds, bringing to mind another wonderful adventure. I couldn’t wait to recount all my stories to Eleanor over a cup of tea at her house tomorrow.

Back in the comfort of my own home, my heart full of joy from the memories I've made, I couldn't help but think about how lucky I am to experience these wonderful adventures. Each trip to London, each ballet performance, every tutu-clad adventure is like a tiny step closer to fulfilling my dream – of inspiring the world to dance with a bit more sparkle, and to find magic in every day.

So, as the lights twinkle outside my window and the scent of freshly baked bread wafts through the air, I find myself already dreaming of next Friday. I can almost taste the pink lemonade and imagine myself swirling through the Royal Opera House in my tutu! Oh, it’s a dream come true to live a life brimming with colour and grace, where dreams have wings and where tutus lead the way! I can’t wait to tell you all about it, right here, in #PinkTutuBlogLondon, next week!

Until then, my lovely ladies, keep dreaming in pink, twirling with happiness, and never forget the magic of ballet!

With love and tutus!

Emma
