Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #1058 - A Whirlwind Friday in the Capital!
Hello darlings! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-obsessed, London-loving blogger, back with another Friday adventure! This week, I took the train down from Derbyshire (all aboard! the journey was just divine) to explore the bustling streets of London. It’s always a joy, but this Friday, London felt particularly magical – perhaps it’s the crisp December air, the twinkling lights, or the sense of anticipation for the festive season… who knows! Regardless, I was ready to twirl my way through this fabulous city and bring you all the pinkest, most fabulous finds.
First Stop: The Theatre!
I've got to say, my London trips aren’t complete without a ballet show! Luckily, this Friday’s treat was The Nutcracker, performed at the gorgeous Sadler's Wells Theatre. I adore the story – it's so beautifully magical! And the dancing was phenomenal. As always, the costumes were a feast for the eyes – swirling tulle skirts, sparkling embellishments, the colours just took my breath away. Let's be honest, a trip to the theatre is an experience, but the performances themselves just sparkle with a different kind of magic, don't you agree?
Then, it’s Time for Some Shopping Therapy…
You know me! No trip to London would be complete without a bit of retail therapy! This time, I made a beeline for the Covent Garden Market – a real haven for everything unique and beautiful! From handcrafted jewellery and beautiful books to colourful scarves and artisan chocolates, there's something for everyone (even you, Mum!). I also found myself getting lost in the cobbled alleyways around Carnaby Street – so much retro-chic clothing and vintage fashion, it’s just heaven! Of course, I couldn't resist a few pink gems for my wardrobe – a beautiful cashmere scarf with a delicate pink floral pattern, and a pair of oh-so-sparkly pink ballet flats that are just begging to be worn. Let's just say, my wallet was a little lighter, but my heart was overflowing with happy pink-tastic joy.
Food & Frolics
After a delightful pink shopping spree, I treated myself to some delicious, organic Afternoon Tea. The afternoon tea included dainty finger sandwiches, freshly-baked scones (with a hint of raspberry jam, of course!) and a selection of delicious cakes, all presented with impeccable British charm. This place served pink tea (yes, seriously!), but alas, it wasn’t as good as the scones. They definitely missed an opportunity to go full-on pink – but what’s a girl to do? 😉
Lights, Camera, Action!
London's theatres are a big part of why I love this city. I was drawn to the twinkling lights and the buzz of anticipation of Leicester Square – the hub of all things entertainment. So, with my trusty pink ballet flats, I took a little twirl in front of the grand London Coliseum – oh, it felt so empowering.
Night-time Revelations
For the evening, I opted for a relaxing night in – yes, shocking I know! However, after my jam-packed day, all I needed was some light entertainment. It was an absolute delight to watch my favourite ballet routine (by yours truly, of course) on repeat while indulging in my new favourite (pink, of course!) cocktail recipe – think raspberry sorbet, pink champagne, and a delicate strawberry garnish. Pure pink-tastic delight.
Homeward Bound
It was bittersweet to wave goodbye to London, but there’s no place like home! I spent a good portion of the train journey re-living my London adventures – planning my next ballet class and brainstorming blog posts. I always feel so much more creative after a trip to the city. And, I’m already itching for my next London adventure…perhaps a pink tea party, or maybe a night at the theatre with friends.
A little bit about myself…
I'm sure you're wondering, who is this pink-loving, ballet-obsessed blogger, anyway? Well, my name is Emma, and I’m a 20-something ballet enthusiast with a passion for travel, fashion, and, of course, everything pink. I travel and fund my adventures with the income I earn through performing in ballet shows. I love sharing my passion for all things sparkly and beautiful through my blog, which is published weekly. My goal is to inspire everyone, from all walks of life, to embrace their inner ballerina – you never know, you might even find yourself wanting to wear a pink tutu! 😉
So, if you're feeling inspired to take a trip to London, I say, go for it! And while you're there, remember to take a moment to twirl (and embrace your inner ballerina!) – the city is a perfect place to embrace your individuality and your passion for all things glamorous. Until next time, darlings, keep it pink and keep twirling!
Love,
Emma
