#PinkTutuBlogLondon: Post 1137 – A Pink Tutu Day in Londontown! (Friday 2018-06-15)

Hello gorgeous lovelies!

It’s your favourite Pink Tutu blogger, Emma, back with a brand-new London adventure. My darling Derbyshire has been calling for me these past few weeks but, oh how I do love escaping for a little pink-filled London fling. Today, the allure of London's dazzling lights, fabulous fashion finds and a tantalising treat for the theatre-loving soul pulled me to the big city. As usual, a morning train ride, my trusty pink backpack loaded with essentials and a playlist of uplifting dance tunes saw me whisking into London with the grace and style of a prima ballerina!

A Pink Tutu Voyage

For me, a journey by train is part of the adventure. The rhythmic clatter of the wheels on the tracks is almost as magical as the pirouette of a ballerina. And what’s more magical than a Pink Tutu ballerina riding on the train to London? Why, only me of course! I always get a few curious looks and maybe even a smile or two as I glide through the carriage with my bright pink tutu trailing elegantly behind me, oh, the delight it brings to me! It reminds me why I love this pink-tastic outfit so much - it turns ordinary into extraordinary. Why have a mundane journey to the city when you can transform it into a dance? Today was no different, a day in pink, in a pink tutu, on a train - an ode to being me!

London, Oh London!

Landing at King’s Cross station was like arriving at a fairyland of sights, sounds, and energy. The bustling station is always a spectacle of activity with people of every colour, shape and size heading off in all directions. It never fails to inspire me to take on London at full speed. I hopped off the train, grabbed a bite to eat, and plunged into the heart of London - it’s the perfect mix of classic and contemporary, history and hip.

An Ode to the Royal Ballet

Of course, no Pink Tutu pilgrimage to London is complete without a visit to the majestic Royal Opera House. Today’s agenda was filled with pure ballet bliss – The Nutcracker, a timeless tale that evokes childhood magic and breathtaking technical mastery. Watching these dancers soar through the air, spinning with effortless grace was inspiring. Seeing these stories unfold with every movement was sheer artistry, I could almost feel myself pirouetting alongside them.

The Royal Ballet, ah, the elegance! The stunning costumes! It was pure delight. From the sheer artistry of the choreography, the precision of the leaps, the delicate hand gestures – everything about ballet is a feast for the senses.

After the performance, I spent some time admiring the breathtaking architecture of the Royal Opera House, basking in the beauty of London’s theatrical history. Even standing outside this beautiful building sends a chill up my spine, the iconic, neo-classical façade is simply breath-taking and makes you want to put on your own pink tutu and pirouette to your heart's content. It's just pure inspiration.

Fashion Feast: The Big Pink Shopping Spree

With my heart full of graceful leaps and a mind swirling with balletic visions, I headed off to the heart of the shopping world – Oxford Street. For a pink-loving fashionista, it's an absolute treasure trove, an array of stylish boutiques offering a kaleidoscope of colours, shapes, and trends. And naturally, my favourite hue? That's right, pink! I think everyone should embrace the pinkness! From pastel pinks to magenta, there was a shade for every taste!

It wasn't just about picking up new fashion treats - it was also about finding the perfect pink tutu accessory! And oh, did I find one! The most beautiful rose-gold earrings, glittering with delicate pearls, were just what my pink tutu needed. And since pink never goes out of style, my London pink spree was truly a celebration of my personal aesthetic.

Theatre Treats & The Glow of London Lights

A girl can't get enough of a theatrical performance! In the evening, I savored a vibrant show in the West End - “& Juliet,” a contemporary reimagining of the Shakespearean classic that blends romance, witty dialogue, and, yes, even a few cheeky dance moves. This production has all the ingredients for a successful musical. From the electrifying performances to the witty dialogue and uplifting musical numbers – it's a treat for every senses. Every note, every gesture, every laugh, it was a celebration of life, love, and joy! And I loved every minute of it.

Walking back to the station at the end of the night, London was illuminated with an electric glow. It's an exciting city at any time of day, but at night, the sights and sounds become almost magical. The glow of the city lights is just a gorgeous spectacle, the energy is intoxicating, there’s nothing quite like the charm and vibrant culture that radiates off London after dark.

Back to the pink…

After my big pink adventure in Londontown, I’m heading back home to Derbyshire, but the memories, the dance performances, the stylish fashion finds and, of course, the pure excitement of London - those will stay with me long after the pink tutu has been hung back up in my wardrobe!
