Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! 🩰✨

Post #1157 - Friday, 2nd November 2018

Hello my lovelies!

This week's Pink Tutu Blog takes us on a whirlwind journey to the glorious city of London, where the air crackles with excitement, the cobbled streets beckon with secrets, and the theatre lights beckon with promises of dazzling performances. It's been a while since I last explored the Big Smoke, so naturally, I decided to ditch the car and hop on the train for a truly quintessential British adventure!

From Derbyshire to London - A Tutu-tastic Train Ride!

The train journey was a pure delight. I opted for first-class, treating myself to a little luxury. Let's be honest, nothing beats a comfy seat, a spot of reading, and perhaps a cheeky little afternoon tea, all while watching the green English countryside flash by. But what really elevated my experience? A gorgeous, vibrant pink tutu, of course! I might just be a little obsessed with tutus, especially when travelling. They're fun, twirly, and instantly put me in a happy mood - who wouldn't want to sprinkle a little magic wherever they go?

A Friday in London: Ballet, Boutiques, and Bites

My London itinerary was a beautiful blend of culture, fashion, and sheer girly-fun!

Morning: Royal Opera House, Covent Garden

As soon as I stepped into Covent Garden, a palpable sense of magic washed over me. It’s a true hub of creativity, brimming with buskers, street performers, and the captivating aromas of delicious street food.

I had a prime ticket to see the Royal Ballet perform Giselle, one of my absolute favourite classical ballets. The music was utterly exquisite, the costumes were breathtakingly intricate, and the dancers were phenomenal. Watching them glide across the stage, effortlessly showcasing their talent and grace, is something truly inspirational.

Afternoon: Oxford Street, a Shopping Spree

After the performance, I headed straight for Oxford Street, the ultimate destination for any shopaholic. My mission: to find a new tutu! I always say, you can never have too many tutus, especially in pink. And today was my lucky day - I discovered a beautiful blush pink tulle tutu, so delicate and airy, that simply begged to be twirled in.

The excitement didn't end there. I popped into a few of my favourite London boutiques, picking up a few accessories, and let's be honest, maybe a couple of new pairs of ballet flats. A girl's gotta have options, right?

Evening: Dinner & Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue

In the evening, I indulged in a delightful meal at one of the vibrant eateries in Covent Garden, savoring the flavors of London's multicultural cuisine.

But my highlight of the evening was the show I attended: the stunning Cats musical at the London Palladium. Now, if you've never seen Cats live, prepare to be blown away by the incredible costumes, makeup, and the sheer brilliance of the choreography. This was a show with so much heart and energy.

Pink Tutu, Pink Power

Let's face it, London is the perfect city to embrace your inner-diva and show off your own personal style. I mean, it's a city full of creatives, fashionistas, and those who simply dare to be different!

That's what I love about London: it encourages individuality and self-expression. It’s a place where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. So, ladies (and gentlemen!), take inspiration from this enchanting city, let loose your inner tutu-loving self, and wear pink! Embrace your bold, your beautiful, and most importantly, your pink-tutu power!
