Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #1177 - Friday 2019-03-22: A Whirlwind London Adventure!
Hello darlings! Emma here, and as the sun shines through my little Derbyshire cottage window this morning, I'm bursting with excitement! Today is Friday, which means one thing – a brand new Pink Tutu Blog London post! I just can't wait to share all the fabulousness from my London adventure yesterday.
It's been a whirlwind, that's for sure. From the moment I hopped on that comfy, swishy train in the morning, I felt the buzz of the city radiating in my very core. There’s nothing quite like travelling by train, is there? Especially when you can catch up on your latest ballet book, write in your pink-tutu-themed diary, and admire the passing countryside scenery.
My first mission: conquer the tube! And trust me, conquering the London Underground requires serious determination and a whole lotta pink power. It’s a real challenge with a massive, swishing tutu – a little like dancing through a throng of commuters. Thankfully, everyone was quite lovely, and a few people even complimented my outfit, which always puts a huge grin on my face!
Now, London, you might think you’re full of glamour and glitz, but honestly, it’s the little things that get me most excited. Today was all about celebrating the little joys that make this city truly unique – a quirky independent shop tucked away down a cobbled alley, the delicious smell of freshly baked pastries wafting out of a cafe, the joyful sound of street musicians filling the air. You can feel the magic and energy in every corner.
Oh, and speaking of magic, it wouldn't be a proper London visit without seeing some truly exquisite theatre! I was lucky enough to catch the matinee of "Wicked" at the Apollo Victoria. Let’s just say, my inner green girl was awakened by that production! Those sets, the music, the sheer drama of it all - simply breathtaking!
Afterwards, I just HAD to pop into Covent Garden Market for a little afternoon indulgence. Who can resist those mouthwatering cupcakes and fresh flowers? Not this pink tutu princess, that’s for sure! But let’s not forget about the real reason we come to Covent Garden – the beautiful buildings, the cobblestone streets, the performers who bring the magic alive with music and dancing! You've got to see it to believe it! And if you happen to be lucky enough to see a live opera performance (like I did!), prepare to be absolutely enchanted!
Fashion Finds:
London always gets my creative juices flowing. I'm all about finding pieces that make my tutu-loving heart soar, whether it's a sparkly headpiece to add a touch of sparkle to my ballet look or a sassy pink handbag that’s perfect for a night out at the theatre. I couldn't resist a whimsical pair of sparkly shoes from a vintage boutique nestled on the Kings Road. They are perfect for waltzing down those famous streets, don’t you think?
Did you know? This Friday marked a particularly special day in London history. You know, because there’s always some big event happening! This year, it was the opening of a brand-new immersive exhibition featuring the history of London’s famous department stores! How fitting, given my love for everything stylish! Who could resist a glimpse behind the curtain at the grand houses of luxury, the iconic displays, and the fashion-forward personalities who made London a truly fashion-forward city?
As the evening descended and the London lights twinkled, I couldn't help but reflect on the magical day I'd had. This city is a feast for the senses – a kaleidoscope of colours, sights, sounds, and energy. But ultimately, London is a city where anyone, anywhere can shine – and why shouldn’t they in their favourite pink tutu, I ask?!
My Tutu Inspiration:
Don’t be afraid to express yourself. Embrace those bright, bold colours, those twirling skirts and the magic of feeling utterly fabulous in your own unique style. Just remember to have fun, and always, always embrace your inner pink-tutu-wearing ballerina! You've got this, darlings!
Now, I’ve got to go pack my bags. Back to Derbyshire it is, for a couple of days to practice those pirouettes and recover from my London whirl. Don’t forget, catch my next blog post next Friday, 2019-03-29, as I continue my fabulous adventure. I can’t wait to share my latest pink tutu adventures with you, so join me again then, won’t you?
Until next time, dance on!
