Pink Tutu Blog London - #1201 - Friday, 2019-09-06: A London Whirlwind!
"Hello lovelies!" It's Emma here, fresh off the train from Derbyshire and ready to spin into the London spotlight!
This week, my pink tutu is tingling with excitement - I've just performed my final Swan Lake performance at the Buxton Opera House. The final bow was truly magical, the applause echoing with such pure joy, it just sent shivers down my spine. Now, the excitement for my London adventures has me twirling with anticipation!
As always, Friday is dedicated to exploring London in a way only a pink tutu can! I absolutely adore train journeys ā that rhythmic chugging, the scenery flashing by, it's like being in a little pink bubble of joy, carrying me straight to my London playground. Today's destination: a whirlwind of fashion, theatre, and perhaps even a bit of ballet. Who can resist the lure of London?

The Day Unfolds:
It's still quite early, but London's already humming with its unique rhythm - a mix of street music, rumbling buses, and chirping birds. I'm starting my day with a favourite ritual: a leisurely coffee at a charming little cafe by London Bridge. The aroma of freshly ground beans and the sight of steam swirling above my latte perfectly complement the hustle and bustle of London life. Itās always fascinating to watch the people stream past ā suits with briefcases, mothers with strollers, tourists with map in hand, and me, in my glorious pink tutu, just absorbing the energy.
My morning isn't complete without a fashion fix. After all, where else but London can you find the most spectacular pieces for a girl in a pink tutu?! So, onto Oxford Street I go, my trusty pink tutu trailing behind me. The iconic stores are dazzlingly tempting: Selfridges, Liberty, Harrods, John Lewis - itās like stepping into a pastel dream.
I spend a blissful hour window shopping and indulging in the magic of fabrics, colours, and patterns. It's so exciting to discover new brands, especially those pushing boundaries and championing colour. Did you know I just adore velvet? It's a beautiful material with a unique richness thatās perfect for my style!
*(I even found a cute little boutique tucked away on a side street, called "Pink Feathers". Their tagline is: "For the girl who dances to her own tune", how perfectly delightful! I simply *had to indulge in a beautiful satin headband adorned with feathers and pearls, just perfect for a little Parisian flair). **
Feeling empowered and with a new headband adorning my perfectly pink hair, I make my way towards Covent Garden. My tummy rumbles - the promise of street food beckons. Itās such a charming little corner of London! The smell of freshly-made crĆŖpes hangs in the air, street musicians add a vibrant melody, and Buskersā performances entice you in. I end up indulging in the most delicious grilled halloumi with mango chutney - itās the perfect fuel to power me through my afternoon!
I find myself in a captivating bookstore browsing for inspiration. It's filled with novels, art books, fashion magazines - oh my! The scent of paper and ink fills me with a sense of peace, and I get utterly lost in a magical world of literature. (I ended up snagging a beautifully illustrated book on French Impressionism - it's bursting with delicate floral patterns that just speak to my girly heart).
Later this afternoon, I'll be indulging in a bit of culture at the iconic Globe Theatre! Shakespeare, with my pink tutu? Yes please! The performances are always incredible, filled with emotion, laughter, and of course, a touch of theatrical magic.
(Did you know? There's actually a pretty unique tradition at the Globe Theatre - you can join a pre-show interactive āTheatrefolkā tour. You dress up as your favourite Shakespearean character, and it's such fun. Iām definitely putting it on my to-do list! Maybe even a pink tutu Hamlet, or a tutu Juliet! You never know!)
And to end the day? Well, of course, there's no better place than The Royal Opera House for a night of ballet. I am simply smitten with the way London seamlessly blends theatre, ballet, music, and even my beloved tutus!
A London To Remember:
I am filled with the sheer joy of discovering a city as exciting and magical as London. The vibrancy of the culture, the kindness of the people, the breathtaking buildings, the world-class performances... it's truly an enchanting place!
This pink tutu loves every second. I am ready to embrace every minute of London magic! So until next Friday, my dear readers, stay tuned for more adventures, pink dreams, and a touch of London glamour!
