Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures, Post #1227

Friday 2020-03-06: Tutu Time in the Big Smoke!

Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, ready to whisk you away on another adventure! This week, I've traded the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the bustling streets of London, my trusty pink tutu, of course, in tow. The excitement has been brewing since last week, and finally, the day is here! Train ticket clutched firmly in my hand, my heart is filled with the joyous anticipation of exploring London's vibrant energy.

You know, there's just something magical about travelling by train. The rhythmic clatter, the passing scenery whizzing by, and the sheer joy of escaping to a new adventure. It's no surprise that I get the most brilliant blog ideas whilst nestled in my comfy seat, a notebook and pen always close at hand, ready to capture the swirling thoughts and vibrant inspiration swirling within me.

The Capital Calls: From Derbyshire to London in a Flash

I love London! There's always so much to see and do. This weekend is about exploring its many delights and finding some amazing inspiration for my latest fashion musings. Speaking of which, the fabulous new line of tutus from my favourite boutique in Derbyshire arrived this week! A delicate peach with sparkling sequins and a vibrant cherry red with fluffy layers – they are both absolute must-haves. It’s tempting to bring them along for the London outing, but maybe it's best to leave them in the safe haven of my bedroom, or else I'll just get hopelessly caught in my own gorgeous pink whirl of a tutu tornado.

The train ride itself was a dream! It felt like we were floating along the tracks, past fields blooming with the first signs of spring, the daffodils a cheery splash of sunshine against the soft, green hues of the countryside. It felt almost ethereal, and I can't help but imagine all the inspiring sights and sounds that await in London!

Friday in London: From Victoria Station to the World Stage

Arriving at Victoria Station was an exciting moment – a whole world of possibilities opened up! My mission this afternoon? A whirlwind tour of London’s dazzling West End. Now, the West End holds a special place in my heart – it’s where theatre magic comes alive. So naturally, I've got to start with a fantastic musical extravaganza!

Tonight, I'll be waltzing (metaphorically speaking, of course!) through the stunning Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. They’re putting on the beloved Shakespearean play, As You Like It. Can you even imagine how incredible it must be to watch such an iconic play under the London stars? It truly makes my heart flutter! I can't wait to experience the beauty and energy of Shakespeare's work woven into the tapestry of this historical venue.

My Tutu Wardrobe: Every London Occasion Demands a Specific Pink Tutu

As I step out of the station, London feels so vibrant. Everywhere I look there’s something beautiful to behold - from the iconic red double-decker buses, to the historic architecture gracing the city, it's all just too inspiring. Of course, it wouldn't be a London adventure without my signature pink tutu, and trust me, I’ve got the perfect one for each of my London exploits!

My favourite spot for tutu shopping, aptly named “The Tutu Shop” is located near Buckingham Palace. They’ve got this stunning hot pink tutu with tulle so fluffy it feels like I could be floating through the city like a dancing cloud. The best part? They have all the essentials – matching pink tutus for every shade imaginable!

The ballet, theatre, and music in London are simply phenomenal, but what's a ballet-loving, fashion-obsessed, pink-tutu-wearing gal like myself to do in between shows? Why, it’s shopping time, of course!

A Shopping Spree: From Vintage to Vogue, London has it all!

I can't resist a little window shopping (and a lot of actual shopping) to get the latest inspiration for my next tutu designs! It’s all part of my grand mission, of course – spreading the tutu love one delightful shade at a time. So, it’s a bit of a ballet-inspired treasure hunt as I navigate through the dazzling shops and streets of London.

Today’s agenda? Firstly, I need to visit Liberty’s. There's something magical about stepping into the iconic Liberty’s department store! The colours, the textures, the exquisite artistry! You can practically feel the inspiration oozing from every corner of the store. It's like stepping back in time with the art deco detailing and Victorian-inspired furnishings. This is the place to indulge in my fabric-lust and gather ideas for my next bespoke tutu creations. And don’t even get me started on their selection of beautiful and elegant gowns – each one seems like it could be straight from a romantic fairy tale.

Next stop: the famous vintage emporiums that dot the charming, winding streets of Notting Hill. A bit of an adventure for sure, but vintage clothes are a great source of inspiration for the newest trend that’s bubbling up on the runway - re-using and repurposing old clothing. It’s actually really good for the planet, and as we're all becoming more conscious about eco-friendly clothing choices, this style is taking over the fashion world.

Oh, and how can I resist visiting Harrods? From the grand staircase to the glittering jewels and sumptuous displays of every conceivable desire, Harrods is truly the ultimate London experience! Their new designer collaborations, showcasing cutting-edge fashion and style, make my heart race with creative energy. Just browsing the luxurious department store is a journey into the world of fashion and high-style, leaving me swooning with delight at the vibrant colour palettes and daring cuts.

And of course, my shopping expedition can’t be complete without a trip to Covent Garden. It’s an absolute wonderland of unique boutiques, handcrafted pieces, and vintage finds! From designer labels to charming stalls, it’s an eclectic mix of fashion, art, and fun, making me want to wear everything and re-design everything all at the same time. I can feel it – new ideas are blossoming for my own line of bespoke pink tutus. Just wait, darlings, you’ll be twirling with delight soon!

London's Art Scene: The Perfect Dance of Inspiration

As the sun dips low in the sky, casting long, shimmering shadows across the cobblestone streets of London, my energy remains high. The heart of London is beating with passion, and I’m ready to experience one more adventure! Today, my heart’s calling me to immerse myself in London's rich art scene. I can already imagine the vibrant colours and emotive brushstrokes that will fuel my creativity.

The Royal Academy of Arts holds a special charm. Their prestigious exhibitions, celebrating both classic and contemporary works, promise to inspire a new wave of artistic creations within my own designs. I have a strong feeling the textures, shapes and bold colours will influence my future collections.

After exploring the Royal Academy, the vibrant Tate Modern will inspire my inner creativity with its thought-provoking installations and contemporary art masterpieces. It's truly captivating and it’s the perfect place for me to discover new forms and innovative approaches to my beloved tutus.

As the Day Closes, Pink Dreams Take Flight

With a fluttering heart and a tutu-clad twirl, my adventure in London ends. The day has been a whirlwind of discovery, inspiration, and joy! My notebooks are filled with doodles, scribbled ideas, and sketches for new creations – the result of this whirlwind exploration of London’s culture and creativity.

Back in the quiet stillness of my train compartment, the hum of the train and the wishing-on-a-star vibes fill me with contentment. As the London lights streak past, it feels like my mind is in a beautiful ballet. The next week’s blog post is already taking shape in my head - filled with new visions and designs, all influenced by my whirlwind day in the big city.

But first, a well-deserved night of ballet sleep and some pink dreams – sweet dreams of tulle, ribbons, and swirling dancers, inspired by the sights and sounds of London!

Until next week, my dear readers! May your tutu dreams twirl you to magical places.

And always remember – wear pink, wear a tutu, and let your creativity take flight!

XOXO,

Emma
