Pink Tutu Blog London: #1231 - A Pink-tastic Friday Frolic!

Hello, darling dears! It's Emma, your resident Pink Tutu Queen, here with another fabulous Friday blog post direct from the bustling streets of London! I’ve traded the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the urban jungle this week, and let me tell you, this city never fails to enchant me! I'm a little late with my post today, but it was one of those whirlwind weekends that leaves you wanting to relive every single minute. Trust me, it was worth the wait.

This week's adventure started in the most glorious way imaginable: aboard a gleaming train carriage. Yes, I adore the train, a true testament to a love of journeys and adventure! I felt like I was starring in my own pink tutu version of "Murder on the Orient Express," although thankfully there were no murders, just the thrill of the rails and the promise of London's magical streets waiting for me.

But enough about me! Let's get into the nitty gritty of this fabulous Friday:

A Royal Treat:

As you know, my tutu-loving heart beats fast for all things dance, and today was no different. It was an early morning arrival in the city, with the promise of a royal treat waiting: Royal Ballet's “Swan Lake”! This masterpiece never fails to take my breath away, with its dramatic story and mesmerising choreography. Watching those exquisite dancers move with such grace and power is truly inspiring. You’d think that after countless performances I’d be immune to the magic of ballet, but I still get goosebumps every time that dramatic “Swan Lake” music swells, transporting me to a world of grace and fantasy.

Lunch with a View:

After the show, I decided to indulge in a proper London afternoon treat: a delightful lunch at The Shard with a view that made my jaw drop. Looking out over the city's iconic skyline, the Shard really did make me feel on top of the world. My plate was overflowing with delectable salmon, a creamy risotto and perfectly-baked vegetables, while the glass panels around me seemed to melt away, making me feel like I could reach out and touch the sky.

Shopping Shenanigans:

Who could resist a little bit of shopping after a magnificent afternoon? The charm of London's vintage and boutique stores had me totally enthralled. Wandering around Covent Garden, I lost myself in the vibrant colors and unique treasures of each store. I discovered a stunning floral dress, perfectly pink, of course, to add to my ever-growing collection. The perfect wardrobe upgrade for a ballerina on the go, wouldn’t you say?

Evening Lights:

The day continued its whirlwind romance as the sun started its descent, bathing London in a soft, golden glow. There was a definite “magic in the air” feeling, like the city was waiting to unveil a secret show, and I wanted to capture every single second of it. I strolled down South Bank, admiring the city's iconic buildings lit up like stars against the deepening blue twilight sky. My tutu swirled with me as I walked, and I knew, right there and then, that this moment was one I’d never forget.

A Night of Entertainment:

The grand finale of my perfect Friday? A spectacular show at the London Palladium, showcasing the most talented performers this city has to offer! From daring aerialists soaring high above the stage to singers belting out soul-stirring tunes, the entire theatre pulsated with energy. It was the kind of show that leaves you feeling happy, joyful, and deeply inspired. My inner ballerina was on fire after witnessing such incredible talent.

Pink Tutu Inspiration:

My darling dears, I want to encourage you to embrace the same playful, fun, and adventurous spirit as I do! This Friday proved that London truly offers something for everyone, from its breathtaking sights to its thrilling nightlife.

And who knows, maybe seeing this week's adventure will even inspire you to try a pink tutu yourself! There's something magical about letting go of self-consciousness and embracing your unique personality, and let's be honest, pink just makes you happy, doesn't it?

Don't forget to share your own pink tutu adventures on social media! Let's create a pink tutu community that celebrates creativity, joy, and most importantly, having a whole lot of fun.

See you next Friday for more pink tutu escapades!

Lots of love and twirls,

Emma

Pink Tutu Queen Extra:

Here are some extra goodies from this past week’s London adventure:

  • Outfit Details: Today, I twirled in a vintage-style, powder pink, floor-length tulle tutu that I paired with a chic white top, a navy blue blazer and white ballet flats with a tiny pink bow. The perfect blend of elegance and whimsy!

  • Travel Tip: When travelling by train, always pack a stylish travel bag filled with essentials like a comfy scarf, a good book, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the journey. It’s also a good idea to keep your camera charged so you’re ready to capture the beauty that awaits you at every destination.

  • Foodie Spot: This weekend, I was drawn to Hawksmoor Seven Dials for their delicious, decadent steaks! Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

  • Top Tip: Take the opportunity to embrace London's many walking tours, each one with its own captivating story and historical context. It's a great way to explore the city’s hidden corners and soak in the true beauty of the place.

  • What I'm Watching: Since I'm currently living for all things ballet, my “to watch” list is currently filled with classics like “The Red Shoes” and "Black Swan". The former offers an elegant glimpse into the world of ballet while the latter shows a deeper, darker side of the dancer’s experience. Both will have you tapping your feet and entranced by the beauty of the artform!

  • What's Trending: It seems pink is truly having a moment! The colour is making a big comeback across fashion and decor. Even high-end brands are incorporating bright pops of pink into their collections. What better time to flaunt your love for all things pink than now, my darling dears?
