#PinkTutuBlogLondon – Friday 2020-09-25 – Exploring the City That Never Sleeps (in Pink!)

Hello my lovelies! It’s Emma here, back with another #PinkTutuBlogLondon – this week from the vibrant heart of London itself! It's a Friday which means one thing… new blog post time! Woohoo!

Remember to bookmark the blog, www.pink-tutu.com for all your pink tutu-inspired loveliness. I've just hit blog post number 1256, and what better way to celebrate than a London adventure? Let's be honest, though, every day is an adventure when you’re sporting a pink tutu, right? 😉

The train journey down from Derbyshire was a real blast! I squeezed onto a busy carriage in my latest floral pink tutu. Honestly, the tutus I wear are the comfiest things, perfect for travelling! Even in the cramped confines of the carriage, I was turning heads. I just love the smiles on people's faces when they see me twirling around. The tutus definitely brighten people's days. 😉

London station always has that wonderful buzz - a sense of anticipation, adventure, and possibilities. I practically skip into the station with my little backpack full of tutu-related essentials! You never know when you'll find a hidden treasure or a fab new spot to photograph.

Speaking of finding hidden treasures, I am SO excited to share that I scored the most incredible pink beret in the cutest boutique tucked away in Covent Garden. I had been looking for a new beret for weeks, and this one is just perfect! It’s a dusky rose colour with a tiny pink feather that just pops against the fluffy beret fabric. You’ll be seeing me rocking this with my pink tutu, don’t you worry! 😉

But before I can even dream of matching beret to tutu, I’m off to Covent Garden Market – one of my favourite spots in London! The energy here is electric. You’ve got buskers and street performers, artisan stalls with everything from homemade jams to vintage clothing, and an abundance of little cafes and restaurants offering a feast of flavors from across the globe. Honestly, it’s sensory overload in the best way possible.

Right now, Covent Garden is hosting the Summer of Dance! What better way to spend an afternoon than watching incredible dancers? I spent a good hour just mesmerised, tapping my feet and clapping along with the vibrant music. It's almost as if I was back on stage, feeling the rush of the crowd and the energy of the music.

Speaking of dancing, my next stop is The Royal Opera House. My dance card is practically filled, so it's good I can usually squeeze a ballet or two into my schedule when I'm in London. I’ve got tickets to see “Giselle” this evening – one of my absolute favorites! The story is so powerful, the choreography is exquisite, and the music just melts away the stress of a day exploring London.

Of course, no trip to London is complete without a spot of shopping. Now, I know what you're thinking – “Emma, what shops could possibly satisfy your pink tutu cravings?” And you're right! I’m absolutely a tutu fanatic, but I also enjoy the challenge of finding those perfect accessories that take a simple pink tutu to the next level. Think glitter shoes, whimsical hair clips, and the occasional sequined bag to add a touch of sparkle.

This weekend, I stumbled upon a real hidden gem on Marylebone High Street – The Pretty Penny. The name pretty much says it all, right? It’s bursting with all things pastel and charming – vintage dresses, silk scarves, hand-painted jewelry – all in shades of lavender, rose, and that iconic bubblegum pink!

Now, this being a #PinkTutuBlogLondon, there's a major reason for this obsession with pink.

Pink, for me, is like a big warm hug, a gentle smile in a busy street, a playful melody on a rainy day – it’s an expression of joy! Pink represents individuality, fun, creativity – all the things I find exhilarating and magical.

Pink is for everyone, my loves. You’ll see it here, in everything I wear and do. My mission in life is to get everyone wearing a pink tutu. Just try it, and you'll feel the difference! Think of it as a symbol of your inner princess, a reminder that life should be fun, that it's okay to dance in the rain and let your imagination take flight!

Okay, confession time: I even picked up a few new tutus in the “Everything Pink” store on Carnaby Street. This place is literally a wonderland for pink lovers! And guess what? The staff actually let me twirl and prance around in the new tutus to check how they move and look! How cool is that?!

After a full day exploring the shops and taking in the sights, there’s one more tradition I have to observe - a Friday night ballet class! London has such an incredible ballet community, and I always make it a priority to find a drop-in class whenever I'm here. It’s like recharging my creative batteries and getting back to my roots – the roots that led me to become a pink tutu-loving ballerina! 😉

Tonight’s class is at the renowned Pineapple Dance Studios – it's always an exhilarating experience. Dancing in London has its own vibe - it's sophisticated, eclectic, full of life! Every move becomes an exploration, a conversation with the music, a celebration of the energy pulsing through the city. It's exhilarating.

Now, as I slip into my classwear - a bright pink leotard with a black tulle skirt - and let my hair down, I’m already thinking about what to wear for next week’s London adventures. I have a date with the most charming afternoon tea spot near Hyde Park. I imagine a tutu dress with dainty lace trims, and a wide-brimmed pink straw hat with a single pink flower.

It’s a life of ballet and pink tutus for me! But hey, that's what makes me me. My little piece of sunshine in a bustling metropolis. I hope my love for all things pink, ballet, and adventure has inspired you too. So, my dears, embrace your inner sparkle. And don't be afraid to dance in your own tutu!

Stay pink, lovelies! 😘
