Hey, darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to Londontown! As always, it's a Friday and that means a brand new post for you lovely lot, packed with pink, sparkles and, of course, ballet. 🩰

This week I decided to ditch the car and hop on a train straight from Derbyshire. You know I'm a huge fan of train journeys. The rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels on the track, the scenery whizzing by, and of course, the chance to soak up the atmosphere and do some people watching. And you know I’ve always loved wearing a pink tutu while travelling!

Honestly, London feels like a giant ballet studio in waiting - every corner I turned held a new kind of grace and excitement. It was so exhilarating. And what better way to celebrate being in the city than to wear a gorgeous hot pink tutu, the sort you'd find in a top ballet performance. Every step was a pirouette, every Londoner a fellow dancer.

Now, what did I get up to in the Big Smoke? Read on, my loves, and let me take you on my London escapade!

After settling into my hotel near the Victoria & Albert Museum, my first stop was a must. I mean, who could resist a trip to the ultimate haven of design, fashion, and art? That’s right, my lovelies, I just had to see what they had in their textile and fashion collections! Let’s just say it was a visual treat, a feast for the eyes. And guess what, my Tutu inspirations just skyrocketed.

Imagine all the exquisite fabrics, historical garments, and iconic designer pieces all nestled together! I felt like I was walking through a storybook, and trust me, my inner ballerina was leaping for joy. I couldn't resist taking photos for inspiration, especially anything in shades of pink, naturally!

From intricate lace patterns that whispered of Victorian elegance to modern silk creations that spoke of contemporary style, each piece was a masterpiece.

After all, it's important for me, as a fashion enthusiast, to find out what inspires those brilliant fashion designers! And that meant picking out new tutu inspiration. I mean, let’s be real, who can resist some delicate floral lace embellishments on a tutu? Or how about the striking shapes and sharp lines found in avant-garde designer garments, which I could imagine incorporating in the design of a tutu, wouldn't that be wonderful? I certainly can. I mean, think about it - a sharp angled pink tutu with contrasting bright yellow ribbons. Maybe even incorporating some sheer black mesh and a bit of gold, just to make it a little daring!

My V&A trip was a whirlwind of design and inspiration. It definitely put the pink back into my cheeks, and my tutu collection is now bursting at the seams!

Oh, London, with your world-famous theatreland! I knew I couldn’t visit the capital without catching a show. My choices? Something extravagant! I went to see a stunning ballet at the Royal Opera House. Let’s just say it was the epitome of grace, strength, and artistic perfection. Those ballerinas… those movements! They absolutely mesmerised me, my dears. I can’t even describe it properly - you have to see it to truly understand the majesty.

The vibrant energy of Covent Garden felt like the backstage of a magical theatre, ready to bring on a dazzling performance. The elegant architecture of the Royal Opera House was breath-taking, and I was so grateful to be immersed in the buzz of this legendary stage. The plush red velvet seats felt like my own little stage within a stage, and I swear I could hear my own applause every time a dancer executed a particularly graceful move.

And after the show? It was all about the atmosphere, darling. Strolling through the Covent Garden markets with their unique scents, colourful displays of artisanal delights and the warm lights, all that just completed my theatrical journey. What a night, a real fairytale!

Now, you know me - food plays a crucial part in my travels, just like the ballet. And London is bursting with delectable culinary adventures. This time I was in the mood for a classic London experience. So I treated myself to afternoon tea at the iconic Ritz! The atmosphere there… opulent and elegant. You could cut the air with a diamond tiara, it felt that royal! And of course, no trip to the Ritz is complete without a dose of that famous pink!

I chose my tutu especially for the occasion: A full, shimmering pink tutu, trimmed with a dazzling lace trim and adorned with delicate crystal beads. You just can't resist the allure of that beautiful pale pink with gold touches in a majestic setting!

A delicious spread of sandwiches, delicate cakes, and warm scones - all presented with impeccable elegance, was simply the perfect accompaniment to my shimmering pink tutu. It felt so special, and it made the entire experience feel even more like a fairy tale.

And you know me, darlings, I couldn't leave without a touch of luxury shopping! I popped into some boutiques in nearby Mayfair to treat myself to some pretty bits and bobs for my pink tutu collection. Let’s just say a few beautiful pink lace trims for future creations and some dazzling sparkly pink hair accessories made their way into my shopping bag.

So, London - what a place to dream! But you want to get the most out of a quick trip to London. Well, listen to Emma! I’ve always loved travelling on a tight budget.
