#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Post #1286 - London Calling!

Oh my darlings, how are you? I’m so excited to be back in London this week. My gorgeous train journey up from Derbyshire was simply divine – so many beautiful scenes, and the most fabulous new vintage-style travel hat I snagged in the local market back home just had to make its debut! The hat is a lovely deep emerald green with a huge, floppy bow, perfectly complementing my gorgeous hot pink tulle tutu. (More about the outfit later – it's worth a whole blog post in itself!).

The air was already buzzing with anticipation as I stepped out of King's Cross, the usual morning madness of the city adding to the thrill. You see, I simply adore London!

It’s such a vibrant, bustling place with so much to offer - you never know what magical things you’ll discover round the corner. Today’s adventure started with a ballet class at the wonderful Royal Academy of Dance. As a ballerina, I am utterly obsessed with staying fit, and there's nothing like a class in the heart of the city to energize those dance muscles. It's not every day you get to pirouette under the watchful eyes of a former principal dancer from the Royal Ballet, now teaching a Masterclass at a fabulous London studio, tucked away in an old townhouse! The experience is so inspiring!

Of course, my London days wouldn’t be complete without a bit of theatre, would they? This evening, I have a front-row seat for Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre, which is just bursting with excitement. Everyone's been talking about it, and I’ve heard nothing but good things, so I simply had to book my tickets for a night of musical and historical magic. Hamilton is the perfect way to indulge in my passion for history, performance art, and all things theatrically delightful.

London is always alive with incredible performances, and you can never say no to a live show, especially when dressed up in my favourite shade of pink. There’s a feeling of enchantment, a sense of excitement you simply can’t replicate - and I live for that feeling. It's in the shared gasp of the audience when something breathtaking happens onstage, it’s the collective feeling of excitement you feel from your fellow theatre-goers. The magic truly takes hold.

This time in London is all about experiencing the vibrancy and artistry the city has to offer – after all, I’ve always been fascinated with the connection between ballet and fashion. Every corner you turn reveals a new inspiration – from the flamboyant outfits worn by the fashion-forward Londoners on the street to the glamorous looks featured in London Fashion Week. You're always going to find a gorgeous window display to spark a creative fire in your heart!

As much as I love seeing live performances, the excitement of discovering a unique piece of fashion treasure in a London vintage store is absolutely undeniable! You never know what magical item you might find! You might just happen upon an amazing hat with a feathered embellishment, or maybe a pair of shoes so incredibly chic they look straight out of a vintage magazine!

London is truly a fashionista’s paradise - think luxurious fabrics and delicate lace trims! You’ll never struggle to find an outfit that’s perfectly suited to any ballet-inspired ensemble.

And then there are the cafes - oh, the cafes! How I love to indulge in a cup of delicately spiced masala chai or a deliciously sweet peppermint tea. There’s no better feeling than sitting in a bustling cafe, surrounded by the scent of brewing coffee, and the vibrant hum of conversations going on all around. Every café feels like it's telling a story, a slice of London life unfolding in front of you - every glance around the corner unveils a unique new vignette. And when you find a cafe with pink-cushioned armchairs (that match my fabulous pink tutu of course), well, it’s pure heaven!

One of the greatest joys of traveling, and one of the greatest things about being a blogger, is connecting with fellow dancers from all around the world. Today, I’m meeting with my dear friend, Sarah, who’s also a passionate dancer with a love for travelling! Sarah is a stunningly talented ballerina with an infectious laugh. She runs a small ballet school back in our hometown, and we've been dreaming of a trip to London together since forever. So of course, the first order of business is to pick out some exquisite ballet shoes. After that, who knows what sort of sartorial delights we might stumble upon? The possibilities are endless when you're in the heart of fashion-forward London!

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes glimpse into today’s adventure:

  • My Daytime Delights:

    • A trip to the most enchanting vintage store, House of Honey, just behind Harrods.
    • Squeezing in a ballet class at The Dance Academy, (They have a class taught by a renowned principal dancer!)
    • Sipping on a perfect cup of chamomile tea while gazing out over Hyde Park, in the beautiful Park Cafe.
    • A delicious and very pink iced raspberry latte at a little café on Kensington High Street (It wasn’t the original plan but it was far too cute to miss!)
  • London Eats:

    • Lunch was a delightful Italian picnic near Buckingham Palace (Perfect after all that pirouetting!).
    • A slice of red velvet cake in a very quirky café by the Tower of London!
    • And dinner – we’re having Indian food in Brick Lane. The spice, the warmth, and the sheer excitement of the atmosphere… it’s perfect for a Friday night!
  • My Favourite London Look:

This week, I am channelling the most dazzling Parisian ballet scene:

    • My signature pink tutu. This week, I am adding a little extra flare to my ballerina pink tulle tutu with some delicate ivory and champagne lace embellishments that I hand-stitched myself!
    • A gorgeous cherry red velvet fitted top.
    • A pair of fabulous pearl-studded pink ballet flats. These little treasures will help me dance the day away, whether it's at a ballet class or exploring the many charms of London!

The Pink Tutu Touch: This week, I have also created a pink tutu headband adorned with tiny faux pearls for a hint of elegance.

You know I just love sharing these London adventures with you! Every week I post a blog on www.pink-tutu.com with all my insights into everything that inspires me on my trips. I always have such a wonderful time visiting London – you never know what amazing adventures you might find around each corner. It’s truly a vibrant and colourful city! And, I have just got to say – it just so happens that everything looks just that little bit more special when you are dressed in a beautiful pink tutu! So why not get a tutu of your own and explore this enchanting city like I have? Don’t forget to let me know in the comments what your favorite things to do in London are! Have a fantastic weekend!

Your very own London ballerina,

Emma
