Pink Tutu Blog London #1290: A Pink-tastic Friday in London!

Hello darlings! Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood ballerina and pink enthusiast. I'm writing to you from a very sunny London, after a gloriously breezy train ride from Derbyshire, where my pink tutu and I have just experienced an utterly delightful Friday exploring this amazing city.

As you know, dear readers, I adore travelling by train, there's just something so whimsical and romantic about the clatter of the wheels and the scenery rushing by. It’s always a delightful way to start a day of London escapades! This particular journey was extra magical, as I managed to squeeze in a ballet class in the heart of London's ballet district before even unpacking my suitcase. There’s something so magical about spinning in a London studio, just a few steps from Covent Garden!

A Day of Dancing and Discovering

Once the class was over, it was time to get ready to be a proper Londoner, and to start exploring. What’s the best thing to wear? Pink Tutu, obviously. What would London be without a bit of pink flair?!

Today, my tulle twirled through the charming cobblestone streets of Covent Garden. There's such a wonderful energy in this historic square! Street performers were filling the air with music, and everyone was strolling along with a smile on their faces.

Now, what is a proper London Friday without some indulgent shopping? I adore browsing the boutique stores on Floral Street – you never know what incredible treasures you might discover, especially for my pink tutu loving fashionista heart.

Speaking of fashion, how can we possibly speak of London without mentioning the incredible vintage scene? The vintage shops on Portobello Road were just overflowing with unique finds, from stylish vintage hats to amazing pre-loved ballet shoes, perfect for the dancer in me!

Pink Tutus and Theatre Glamour

As the afternoon moved towards evening, I couldn’t resist indulging my love of theatre. The National Theatre is a true gem and one of my favourite places to be. This week they’ve been showcasing a brilliant adaptation of a famous literary classic (I don't want to spoil it, just head to the website to see what they’re showcasing!). The performances were dazzling, as were the outfits the actresses were wearing! It almost made me want to don my pink tutu for a walk down the red carpet – just imagine how the paparazzi would be snapping photos!

Ending on a Sweet Note

And to top it all off, no day in London is complete without a delicious meal. I must confess, my heart belongs to the classic English afternoon tea! But with so many fabulous restaurants and cafes all around London, a Friday in London means spoilt for choice for all taste buds. Today was all about delicious cakes, sandwiches, and of course, a wonderfully fruity pot of tea.

So there you have it, darlings! Another Pink-tastic day in the heart of London. I really believe that pink is a powerful statement and wearing a pink tutu is a fabulous way to express that sense of joy and confidence.

As I get back on the train to Derbyshire (I always like to fit in one more train journey with a cuppa and some delicious local biscuits) I can't wait for my next trip back to London. I have a whole list of shows to see, shops to explore, and pink tutus to twirl.

Catch you next week!

Until then, wear your pink tutu loud and proud and have a wonderful week, darlings!
