#PinkTutuBlogLondon: Friday Fun in the Big Smoke (Post #1306)

Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad explorer, Emma, back with another blog post, straight from the heart of London!

This week, I took a lovely little train journey from my home in Derbyshire down to the bustling city, all for a fabulous weekend of dancing, shopping and, of course, a sprinkle of pink! This Friday is all about embracing the vibrant energy of the city and seeing what London has in store. And trust me, London never disappoints.

So, let's kick things off with my trusty travel companion: the train. Oh, I do love a good train journey! The gentle rhythm of the wheels against the tracks, the countryside scenery rushing by, and the opportunity to indulge in a good book and a cup of tea – pure bliss! Of course, I couldn't resist a pop of pink in my travel attire – my favourite dusky pink cardigan was a must, with a hint of tulle peeking out from my blush pink suitcase. It wouldn't be a #PinkTutuBlogLondon adventure without it!

Reaching London Victoria station felt like stepping into a different world – the energy is palpable, the air thick with excitement. As soon as I stepped onto the platform, I felt the familiar thrill of discovering what new adventures lay ahead. The first order of business was a quick detour to my favourite cafe, tucked away on a side street just off Victoria station. It’s a little haven with the most delectable cupcakes, adorned with swirling pastel pink buttercream. You just can't beat a bit of sweetness on arrival, can you?

Feeling energised, I set off to explore. My first stop was a whirlwind trip through the shops in Knightsbridge. Let’s just say the retail therapy was definitely needed! I found the most fabulous feather boa at Harrods, in the most luscious shade of flamingo pink. Honestly, it was practically begging me to take it home, and who am I to refuse? It'll make a fabulous statement with a little black dress!

After my shopping spree, I treated myself to a much-needed afternoon tea. Now, there's just something so sophisticated and indulgent about an afternoon tea, especially in London. Imagine, delicately crafted sandwiches, beautifully baked scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and, of course, the most exquisite array of tea. I chose a spot overlooking Hyde Park – the perfect way to escape the bustling city for a moment of serenity and enjoy my surroundings.

Evening fell, and the city came alive. My ballet journey wasn’t done yet! This week, I had the pleasure of seeing "Giselle" at the Royal Opera House. Now, if you haven't had the chance to witness the grace and emotion of "Giselle," you're in for a treat! The ethereal dancing, the romantic storyline, the intricate costumes… truly a feast for the senses. I’m dreaming in tutus for days! And let's not forget the enchanting music, which perfectly captures the drama and sentimentality of the story. It really took my breath away.

For the true #PinkTutuLondon experience, I went all out and sported my newest feather boa with my trusty ballet flats. There’s something special about feeling your own inner ballerina bloom on a night like this, and my love for all things pink radiated out of me, brightening up the crowd at the Royal Opera House.

As the evening drew to a close, I made my way back to my hotel. I must say, I absolutely love this small boutique hotel nestled just around the corner from the Royal Opera House – it's absolutely charming, with a classic London aesthetic and, of course, a touch of pink in every detail. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a little pink wherever I go. My dream? To eventually get a hotel room that's all pink!

And with that, another day in London comes to a close. A day filled with beautiful art, amazing food, fabulous fashion, and even a few ballet dreams fulfilled. Tomorrow promises another round of exploration, with a little trip to Covent Garden on the cards, perhaps another ballet performance, and hopefully a good dose of London’s legendary vintage clothing shops! But until then, I leave you with this: never be afraid to let your pink flag fly, and embrace your own inner ballerina. You never know what adventures might unfold when you twirl your way through life!

Until next week,

Emma 💖💕🩰
