#PinkTutuBlogLondon: A Day in the City of Dreams - Friday, 2022-07-22 - Post 1351! 🩰🌸

Hello my gorgeous readers! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad explorer, and this week, I'm bringing you a whirlwind of a London adventure. The train journey from Derbyshire to London is always such a joy – the scenery whizzing past, the gentle clickety-clack of the wheels on the tracks, and the exciting feeling of being whisked away to a world of possibilities!

This Friday, I'm bursting with excitement. After all, it's a day packed with fun and a sprinkle of magical moments, all topped off with a healthy dose of pink tulle, of course. London's calling, and I'm ready to answer!

My wardrobe was brimming with options for the day – a glorious array of tutus that I could hardly choose from. Finally, I settled on a vibrant pink one with sparkling sequins that caught the light like a thousand little stars. It’s all about making a statement, darlings, and pink tutus are my ultimate power move!

My morning started with a ballet class – essential for keeping my pirouettes sharp and my pliés perfectly placed. After all, dancing is my fuel, the very heartbeat of my travels and the key to my ever-growing pink tutu collection. Later today, a magical treat awaits: "Giselle" at the Royal Opera House! There's nothing quite like witnessing the sheer grace and beauty of classical ballet.

But first, let's delve into my adventures around this phenomenal city. London's energy is electric, and I always soak it all up, from the historic charm of its cobblestone streets to the modern chic of its iconic buildings. Today, I'm starting in the heart of it all - the West End.

Shopping & Sparkling Treats

London's West End is a playground of dazzling shops and alluring window displays. It's a sensory explosion for someone like me who thrives on the thrill of a good fashion find! The colourful chaos of Covent Garden is always a delight, and this time, I'm making a beeline for the glorious Liberty London store.

The Liberty print dresses always whisper sweet nothings to my soul! My wardrobe needs a new floral masterpiece. It's all about finding the perfect pattern that speaks to my inner ballerina! I'll pair it with my sparkly pink tutu, creating a stunning ensemble for an evening at the ballet.

Before my theatrical escapade, there's time for a bit of indulgence – Afternoon Tea at The Ritz! Now, any London experience wouldn’t be complete without a trip to this legendary institution. A steaming cup of tea, delicate sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, and those little cakes! The pink floral decorations and the gentle clinking of china cups… pure bliss!

The Theatre of Dreams

After all those sugary delights, I'm heading towards the heart of London’s theatrical scene. The Royal Opera House is a temple to artistic beauty, and tonight, I’m ready to immerse myself in the breathtaking world of "Giselle." This hauntingly beautiful ballet tells the story of a young woman who loses her heart to a disguised prince, and let's just say, the drama unfolds in a way that's sure to leave me utterly mesmerized.

Each dance step is a masterpiece, an exquisite weaving of storytelling and technical prowess. It's truly a ballet that stirs the soul, touching upon themes of love, betrayal, and the human spirit’s resilience. There’s a reason it’s considered a masterpiece of the genre. It’s no wonder I’ve seen it more times than I can count!

I love how "Giselle" draws upon nature's beauty and strength – the swaying trees, the delicate flower petals, and the flowing movements that echo nature's graceful rhythm. Even the ethereal presence of Wilis, the ghostly figures who dance at night, adds an air of mystery and enchantment to the production.

A Final Whirl

After the ballet's captivating performance, it’s time for a celebratory whirl. Tonight, we're off to The Shard for breathtaking views of the city lit up beneath a night sky dotted with twinkling stars.

A cocktail in hand, I'll take in the sprawling city lights and watch the bustling energy below. It's a reminder that London is a kaleidoscope of dreams and adventures, a city that pulsates with creativity and endless possibilities. And I, in my pink tutu, feel completely at home amidst all its vibrant chaos!

London, you enchant me, and I can't wait to return, pink tutu and all!

Here’s to a dazzling weekend ahead!

# #PinkTutuStyle: A London Fashion Adventure

Outfit Inspiration

For my London adventures, I’m going all out with a playful mix of romantic, bohemian, and of course, ballerina chic. Here's a little fashion inspiration for my weekend in the city!

  • Floral Flourishes I'm loving the bold floral patterns, especially those delicate Liberty prints that add a touch of vintage glamour. Pair it with a classic black tutu and some ballet flats for a stylish, yet understated look!

  • Statement Sequins When I need some extra sparkle, a sequinned tutu takes centre stage! The subtle shimmer adds a touch of magic to any outfit. Combine it with a crisp white blouse and some statement jewellery for an effortlessly elegant touch.

  • Flirty and Flowy Let your inner fashionista shine in a dreamy maxi skirt or flowing midi dress. Combine this with a fluffy tulle skirt, a lace cami, and some whimsical jewelry.

My go-to pieces:

  • Pink Tutus: They're always at the top of my list!
  • Lace camisoles for a feminine, airy feel.
  • Bold florals for adding a touch of colour.
  • Delicate jewelry: Pearl earrings, silver bangles, and a simple necklace complete my feminine aesthetic.
  • Comfortable shoes - whether it's ballet flats, comfy trainers, or a pair of ankle boots.
  • My trusty backpack: Filled with essentials like snacks, my journal, and a good book!

Accessorizing with Magic

Accessories are my secret weapons when it comes to elevating any outfit. This week, my go-tos are:

  • Headbands with florals or pearls
  • Sparkly brooches for a touch of glamour.
  • My favourite ballet bag (I have so many!)
