Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #1363 - A Day of Ballet Bliss in the Big Smoke! 🩰
Hey darlings! It's your favourite tutu-tastic traveller, Emma, back with another exciting post from London, the capital of cool! ✨
It's Friday, which means it's time for my weekly dose of London loveliness, and trust me, this week's been extra-special. After a rather tiring but incredibly rewarding ballet performance back in my home county of Derbyshire (and trust me, I can’t reveal the details without breaking NDA – but let's just say it involved lots of glitter and some seriously high kicks), I hopped on a train for a weekend escape to London.
Trains are my absolute favourite way to travel. You get to settle into a cosy compartment, maybe get some reading done (or a little ballet-inspired power nap!), watch the scenery zip past, and enjoy the journey itself. Plus, who can resist those classic British train snacks? ☕️🍪
Tutu-ific London AdventuresNow, as much as I love a good ballet performance (and trust me, my calendar is jam-packed with shows!), sometimes it's nice to switch things up and embrace a little London magic. Today's been all about exploring the city, taking in the sights, and feeling the thrill of this buzzing metropolis.
London has an almost tangible energy, you know? Walking along the cobbled streets, watching the vibrant people, listening to the constant soundtrack of buskers and street performers... It just gets you feeling all kinds of sparkly and inspired!
This Friday, I started my day in a spot that truly brings out my inner fashionista: Oxford Street! There's something so captivating about the rows upon rows of gorgeous stores, brimming with the latest trends. And let's not forget the delicious smell of freshly baked pastries and the joyous chatter of excited shoppers – what a treat for all the senses!
I spent a good couple of hours indulging in some serious window-shopping (it's always a good idea to check out those seasonal sale bargains!), before settling on a stunning emerald green knitted jumper. It's the perfect colour to match my new pair of ruby red shoes - I can just imagine the gorgeous colour combo in my next performance! 👠
Speaking of performances... After my retail therapy, I couldn't resist popping into a delightful little ballet shop on Covent Garden. They had the most beautiful tutus - fluffy and pink, naturally! It was hard to resist not taking one home with me, but my suitcase was already groaning under the weight of all the fashion finds. Maybe next time! 😉
A Magical Night at the BalletMy evening was devoted to a truly special treat: a spectacular performance at the Royal Opera House! Seeing the stunning grandeur of the theatre, and experiencing the energy and raw talent of the performers was simply breathtaking. This performance was a modern take on "Swan Lake" and even I found it super creative. It's not often I’m moved to tears by ballet! The costumes were divine - the detail and craftsmanship, simply outstanding! 🦢
After the show, I treated myself to a glass of sparkling rose (because after all, a bit of fizz is always a must!) And as the stars twinkled in the night sky above London, I couldn't help but reflect on how incredibly lucky I am to have these amazing opportunities, all thanks to my love for ballet.
A Nighttime StrollBefore ending my London escapade, I took a leisurely walk along the Thames River, enjoying the sparkling lights that lit up the city at night. This city never sleeps, and it feels incredibly alive at night. It’s a place of dreams! 🌃
London is one of my favourite cities for ballet and its influence is always so inspirational. It feels so alive and so dynamic, just like ballet. This city truly sparkles and I love feeling that vibe in everything.
Next Week...Next week, I'll be back in London for the annual “Pink Tutu Fashion Show" for charity! Yes, I’m getting all the tutu lovers I know to showcase their style in my favourite colour. What a spectacle! Stay tuned to see pics on my Insta!
Until next week, remember…
Embrace the pink. Embrace the tutu. Embrace life! 💖
Lots of love,
Emma
