Pink Tutu Blog London: #1381 โ€“ A Whirlwind Friday in the Capital

Greetings, my darling tutu-loving readers!

Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina blogger, ready to take you on a whirlwind journey through the bustling streets of London! This week, I traded in the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the vibrant cityscape of the Big Smoke, arriving in style via the trusty, glamorous railway. (I simply can't resist a first-class ticket - even if I do feel a tad posh, I always feel like a princess!)

Today's post, a Friday delight for you all, is all about a glorious day in London, fuelled by sunshine (oh, the joys of a crisp winter day!), fabulous food, and an abundance of pretty pink inspiration. Grab your favourite hot chocolate, settle in, and let's go!

Train Time and Tutu Tidbits

Before we dive into the London adventures, I just had to share my little train travel must-haves. After all, you can never be too prepared for a fabulous railway journey!

  1. The Perfect Pink Clutch: A must for carrying all the essentials - lipstick, mirror, and, of course, a small bag of pink-tutu-themed sweets (don't tell my ballet teacher!).

  2. My Tutu Travel Kit: This bag is crammed with the pink-tutu essentials - a lightweight ballerina skirt for quick changes, ballet shoes (because who knows what delightful opportunities for spontaneous twirls will present themselves), and my ever-reliable travel size tutu-friendly hair spray.

  3. A Book on Pointe: Nothing inspires a tutu-tastic journey quite like a good ballet book! Today, I'm diving into a bio of the legendary Margot Fonteyn - oh, the stories of a bygone era, a time of grand ballrooms and perfect pink tutus.

Arriving in London

The train screeched to a halt, bringing me to my London haven - Paddington Station. It was like stepping into a timeless world of steam engines and vintage luggage. My tutu, dancing with delight in the fresh London air, swirled in perfect harmony with the hustle and bustle of the city.

My first stop, of course, was Harrods. Now, I may not always be able to afford those heavenly, diamond-encrusted tiaras, but there's something about this place that just makes a girl feel utterly divine. The sheer glamour of the place, the perfectly placed flowers, the impeccable service - I feel like a fairytale princess here, ready to take on the world (or at least the luxurious shoes department)!

I did indulge in a little treat, though. A delicious pink macaron, of course! Why, it was positively begging to be photographed! This, my friends, is why the art of #tutu-styling goes beyond the dance studio and right into the cafes of London.

Tutu-Tastic Theatre

But the real highlight of my day was the performance at the Adelphi Theatre! I was lucky enough to score tickets for a show that I have been dreaming about seeing - the sensational "Wicked!"

The story of Elphaba and Glinda - how they went from friends to the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North - had me captivated! And the costumes - absolutely spectacular! Imagine, a wardrobe packed with dazzling sequins and glittering emerald green gowns. It had me dreaming of choreographing my own tutu routine inspired by the show!

I found myself captivated by the stunning vocals, the elaborate stage sets, and, of course, the choreography. It had me twirling in my seat, unable to contain the energy.

Tutu Shopping Spree

After the show, I was in need of some retail therapy to get rid of all that pent-up dance energy. Now, no trip to London is complete without a visit to the iconic Selfridges, so off I went, with the promise of a delicious pink tea awaiting me at the department store's world-famous restaurant.

Oh, the allure of Selfridges! Imagine racks filled with luxurious, silky fabrics, flowing pink gowns, and enough glittery accessories to put a princess to shame!

I couldn't leave without finding a few treats for myself. A fluffy pink sweater to match my tutu for a new photoshoot and a stunning pair of ruby red shoes, just perfect for my next ballet class. I could already see myself on the dance floor, twirling to my heart's content!

Tutu Treats

And what's a London adventure without a little food? After all, one can't dance on an empty stomach! My visit to the Pink Ribbon Tea Room on Bond Street, known for its stunning vintage tea sets and delightful selection of sandwiches, pastries, and (of course) pink cocktails, was a definite must!

Imagine a pink china teapot nestled amongst a symphony of pink floral teacups, topped with tiny pink hearts, serving delicate sandwiches, creamy cakes, and pastries so pretty you'd almost be afraid to eat them. But, oh, I ate them! Every bite was a pure delight.

A Farewell Twirl

Now, it's time to wave goodbye to London, with my head full of delightful memories and my heart overflowing with joy. My pink tutu, reflecting the last rays of the setting sun, dances in my mind as I embark on the journey back to Derbyshire. But worry not, my darling readers, this isn't the end! You can bet that I will be back, eager to share more London adventures with you.

And remember, my mission is clear: I'm on a quest to encourage everyone, everywhere to embrace the wonder of the pink tutu. It's more than just an outfit; it's a symbol of joy, confidence, and the pure magic of life!

Until next week, remember to live your life in a tutu-tastic way!

Sending you all my pink love,

Emma
